Relationships are a 2 way street. I was the one to first message my (now husband) on Tinder 7 years ago. All I said was “Hey”. At the time I didn’t realize that only saying Hey was apparently not a normal thing to do. But it worked for us, he initiated asking the first date, asking me to be his girlfriend and eventually asking me to be his wife. Both people matter and neither person is “above” the other in a healthy relationship. Their strengths should help you in your weakness and your strengths should help build up their weaknesses. You’re a team, you’re not opponents in a game of chess. There’s only ever one winner in Chess. A healthy relationship means both partners are winning together.

My wife poked me on FB back in the day. She saw my pics, she liked what she saw, she attacked. I was a professional bodybuilder and a cop. What started with her being interested in the physical and psychological aesthetic of someone like myself blossomed into love. My wife, on paper, is a MUCH better catch than I am. I lived life, perhaps a bit too well, and have some attachments and baggage. The fact that she even hit me up and moved past the smash only stage with me is a blessing I thank God for every day (Except when we fight), and here we are, a decade later. Don’t let anyone judge your relationships when they are healthy; yes, even if it’s not perfect, it still can be healthy. Listening to people tell you to break up of simple shit is wild. As a woman who's been dabbling in some female dating strategy content, I also often hear the advice that the man has to love the woman more than she loves him. This has always been something I've disagreed with because I just want someone who loves me just as strongly as I love him. If its unbalanced on either side it's gonna be tough and not sustainable. How do you measure love anyway, isn't it more like you either love someone or you don't?

    • @justdance4750
      @justdance4750 7 месяцев назад +7

I think that advice might come from the differences both sexes approach relationships- and I’m talking biologically. Women tend to be more emotionally sensitive when picking mates, while men seek largely physical or even status based aspects in women. There’s a difference is especially when it comes to how both sexes approach the sensation of falling out of love. You might have heard about the “honeymoon”phase of relationships and it is often mistaken as what deep love is. When really love is an enduring emotion consisting of chemical and spiritual connections. Many times, once this euphoric feeling ends is when most relationships die out. How this ties into it is that men, who tend to have lower sensitivity and bigger egos. They may be in denial that they might not be in love with their partner as much as they think. They end up cheating or finding something alternative rather than communicating the relationship is not working. This poor communication is a large aspect of why most relationships turn out poorly. But anyway this can really devastate women. As women are more emotionally in tune, they may still find ways to love their partner. The thing is… women have evolved to tend to understand how to love fully better than men. This makes sense because females are primary caretakers of children and children need unconditional love.
I’m not saying men can’t or shouldn’t love equally to the partner. It’s just that men tend to handle it poorly, and the party that tends to suffer more if it occurs is women. Thus, maybe this statement can actually be the equivalent of saying, “pick a man who is emotionally mature and has an understanding of love.” Because most men, really don’t, especially young men! It’s just how nature created each sex. Just my two cents on how this advice came to be!

    • @saffy771

@@sepulcher8263Oh for sure, a lot of it us unhinged, but it depends who you're listening to. Like SheraSeven for example is UNHINGED lmao. But then someone like Asha Christina for example offers some more balanced advice. Really though, it just boils down to having self respect and self worth, and to stick to your values in dating. And also to not try to run after a man if he's not putting any effort into you. Because a lot of women fall into this trap of trying to decode mixed signals from a guy and run after him, give him excuses for not reaching out in days or even weeks etc.
What I don't like about FDS though is the suggestion that men have to wine and dine you from day one, as if he doesn't want to get to know you better first.
Or that if a man hasn't proposed to a woman within 3 to 4 years, you're a "forever girlfriend" and he isn't serious about you... But what if you got together at age 20 or even earlier? Most adults these days want to take their time and might not feel ready to get married until their late 20s to early 30s.
This is why I think you gotta take every advice with a grain of salt.

      Simplest thing in the world.
It's obvious that Simone Biles isn't as insecure as they are.
She has a billion fans. She doesn't need her billionth and one fan to be her husband. She isn't looking for her romantic life to validate her achievements.
They're looking for that because they've never been so successful that they didn't have to second guess the legitimacy of thier achievements to the point they seek validation for their success from their significant other under the guise of "love."
Her legacy is secure. She doesn't NEED her husband to sweat her to feel like what she did matters.
This is before you consider all of the potential negative effects/aspects of her career on her (the SA case, the mental break she had, the adversity she had to put up with) that could make dealing with her legacy bitter sweet for her.
Him not approaching her as "The Superstar Simone Biles" could literally be healing for her, but their insecurity won't let them see that dimension of it smh.

Divorce rates are higher because women are now working more in comparison to the 1950-90s. Due to their financial freedom, they have the opportunity to divorce men that were exhibiting those behaviours for decades.
As well as that, men are struggling to adapt to the role of a modern father. Before a father just had a role of being a breadwinner, but that has changed now and they are poorly adapted to their modern role.
Women are expected to work and look after the kids more, whilst men are just expected to work with less involvement with their kids.

Double standards only become problematic when you all aren't benefitting from said double standard. 2 things
      1) In a healthy relationship, both people should view each other as the prize and value each other equally
      2) If anyone has any arguable excuse at all to call themselves the prize, it's him. Why? He is the .05 % dude, many of you, who are currently complaining, would want to be with. Not only that. Many of you would argue that any other man than that .05% would be settling. Men don't view it the same way for her simply off of her accolades and accomplishments. The brotha actually went on to say exactly why he is with her in the same interview, but y'all so triggered by him saying he didn't know who she was that many of you didn't even watch the whole thing to learn something.

#1 for a good relationship is communication. #2 is conflict resolution. There where always be hiccups. If you're in a relationship where there are no hiccups, thats a red flag in and of itself, because it means that one person (or both) are being passive and not bringing anything up, letting things slide, and not communicating with each other.

There is a big difference between hearing her name, and knowing who she is. I have probably heard the name of other VERY famous people i can't say I know who they are.
I would say they are both lucky, anyone who finds someone that makes them happy is lucky, regardless of fame.

I don't watch football and I don't know who some of the top athletes in the sport are. Not everyone watches every single sport. That being said, it's one thing to say that you didn't know who she was when you met, and another thing to act like you were the catch in the relationship and you didn't want to date her at first. I would never say I was the catch in my relationship nor do I think it's an appropriate thing to say in a relationship for a guy or girl no matter the achievements or lack thereof. When you say that, it puts you on a pedestal and makes you seem superior and the "better one" in the relationship, and puts them below you. Plain and simple, it's a problematic thing to say about your SO, especially in public. Now all THAT being said, sometimes people make mistakes in relationships and of course there are always things said and arguments ensue, doesn't mean it should be the end all be all in the relationship especially if he treats her right and vice versa. We have no idea what their private relationship is like so it's weird to tell them to break up over this. Your marriage will never last if you can't withstand those sorts of things together.

Same with my friends, if they tell me something about their partner I will try to advocate for their partner and not just blindly talk shit about them cause Ik they are just upset and half the time it’s minor inconvenience and misunderstanding from both their ends so I try to come at it from a neutral point
