    The hydroelectric dam and plant are probably under strict security by the government. In many countries because of terrorism and other possible threats, they limit access and definitely no photos or videos. Your intentions may be harmless, but posting those images can give some people an idea as to the layout for whatever harm they may want to cause. The grandmother and her granddaughters were very heart wrenching to see. Wish there was something more we could do for them. I’m up for ideas. Great videos as always. If you’re visiting more caves, I suggest keeping a hat in the car and a pair of good hiking shoes. One slip up could cause you a lousy day. Take care always and stay safe, mate. Regards to NeeNee.

      That’s a very long bow to draw John. Any potential ne’er-do-wells can take the same roads to see the same thing from outside the perimeter fencing. A lot different to jumping the fence to go deep inside.

    Hi Guys That bit of rock that you cracked your noggin on Todd, is called a stalactite. The ones that grow up from the floor are called stalagmite's. The way to remember it is the "tite's" are holding on tight, and the "mites" might reach the "tite"s"

    Hi Todd, Thanks for continuing to upload videos, they are a great insight into Laos. A Question if you have time and maybe you or Neenee know the answer... In this video from 11:03 to 11:16 there are a few seconds showing a young guy who I would guess is on his way to or from school. Smartly dressed typical of Asian kids school uniform, and a rucksack is the giveaway.
    So the question- Do you know if schooling is compulsary for all children in Laos and, is it Free or do the family have to pay to send their kids to school? I am aware of Mr Tsua and the English Language classes he provides for the children in Nong Por village, and he does that for no reward. (I am supporting his fund raising to build a new Schoolroom). The reason I ask is, in the last few years I've spent a lot of time in S. Africa and, I was stunned when I found out that all kids have to pay to go to school there, and it's flippin expensive.

    • @NowinLao
      @NowinLao  2 года назад +2

      Thanks Phil, I really enjoy doing it.
      In Laos they have both government funded and private schooling. The latter predominantly in the larger cities. Education is compulsory and free at the government schools. Maybe a small amount paid as school fees, but I can't imagine any cost for the isolated poorer village students.
      Wow.. I never knew that about S. African schools.. how ridiculous 😲

    Hey Todd. I’m currently living here in Hatkiang just outside of the Vientiane. I got a problem with ants. How do you get rid of them from inside the house.
    I can’t even leave a food on the table without then munching on it’s soon as I turn around to do something else.
    Any help be great. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah where the hell do I buy margarine to put on my toast?

    • @Murph945
      @Murph945 2 года назад

      I live on the 13 Highway if you want to get rid of ants you need 3 teaspoons of Sugar and 1 teaspoon of Borax. Add water and leave it in a covered container, you don't want the dogs or cats getting to it. Once the ants find it they take it back to the nest. Gone in 24 hours. Good hunting!

    So you're saying the river water is slowly drying up? Like the Colorado River in the U.S., Sad if climate change is affecting the South East of Asia! Yes, the water spirits need to be summoned to help fix the water problems in that area which is slowly drying. I live in Thailand from the U.S. and the worst part of Laos I see is the roads that many, many, many of them need to be repaired. I am kind of like you and have lived in Thailand for 22 years but since my wife learned English I think that I was too lazy to go back to school and learn Thai which I should have done 22 years ago.
