Jonny that was a class act mate!!. Great video . good to see you promoting the local Thai teaching school. Sounds like a cool way to learn Thai at an easier pace .
It's so cool to see you doing weekly vlogs again, Johhny. I'm sure your channel will grow to 1mil soon. Watched you from nearly the beginning. A great ambassador to Thailand. It surely made me want to maybe move there in the future as London is buggerd lol.. thanks
"Stoned, drunk or just fs like myself" hahah.....love it. Thanks for being brutally honest at the end Johnny and sharing your story. Fah's online language learning business appears to be doing gang busters since it launched, with the kind spruiking of Chris, Retired Working for you. Thank you and Fah for sharing the Thai Language and I hope others are inspired to learn thru thru Fah's online shcool. Ripper Rita.
HAHA, this is a great video. I have been learning for 10 months now and I am just really starting to read / write and learn some of the Language. Fah is amazing - Suay Mak
Hi, Johnny. Always enjoy your videos. I also have dyslexia have learnt to cope with it over the years. I am now in my 50s. I look at it as a gift as we see Things definitely, outside of the box. Cheers take care.😊
Hey Jonny, I'm a fellow Gold Coaster. Thanks for being so open about learning difficulties. I have been following Kru Far since she went out on her own. I love her way of teaching.
I'm dyslexic as well. I've lived in Italy, Colombia, Mexico and Thailand. I'm moving to Vietnam in August. I've flunked out of at least 6 language courses. I'm going to try to find a Vietnamese tutor that has experience with learning disabilities. I spent the last 6 years in Mexico and can speak decent restaurant Spanish.
If I owned a car dealership, selling Ferrari, Porshe, Maserati, Mercedes, or even Cadillac, I would hire this woman on the spot! I think she has quite a great personality. She's a natural born saleswoman.
Hey Jonny, you're not stupid at all. I left a comment under a recent video saying just learn Thai. Actually, I think you know more than you realise, for example....... when you go to a massage place and all the girls introduce themselves, you actually catch all their names - which they say at a super fast speed. You already have decent listening skills. I think if you can work around any learning difficulties, and eventually become conversationally fluent you will really enjoy it. Take your time, and also when it comes to remembering things, always revise. Learn something new, and go over it again in an hour, then a day, then a week etc. Kids learn to how to talk from their parents, which is basically immersion, you are already there in TH. If you want to, you can do it. Good luck!. Either way, you're still living the dream. cheers 😁👍
Johnny is my inspiration for moving to Thailand later on. I Love the culture and people make more sense than europeans. Thailand is all about life, europe is all about measuring happiness in things you can buy. I’m so over that and just love life simple and true. I wish you all the best and love your vlogs 👌
Love your ending to the video!! I have to say that I might fall into the category of being a little imbibed as for the reason I I didn't learn much Thai language, although it was very interesting. Fah seems like an excellent teacher.
Great Video ! In a few years I will begin the path to start learning Thai before my retirement. I was learning German in the 90's and still remember what I learned so I am excited to begin the Thai language journey ! :) Hope all is well Johnny !
Some people just have a natural ability to pick up languages really easily but it is also a passport to travel for many and work in other countries but you can see she is a really bubbly confident person that would do well no matter what she did a very likeable quality
One good thing about not learning the Thai language and also not speaking Thinglish is you can still have your original accent, when I was in Thai I was learning the language and also was speaking full on Thinglish(Thai-English) and lost my native accent, when I went home people used to laugh at me, even now people ask me where I'm from, 10 years later my accent still isn't back to normal, probably never will be. One thing I found about her Thai is she says R's as R's, most Thai's say R's as L's not only in Thai but a lot of Asia do like Chinese, etc (my missus is Chinese and her children are learning English, her younger son doesn't know how to say r's, his brother's name is Harry but he call's him Hally hehe). Like Song roi ha sip, but most thai's say song loi ha sip, so most Thai's say farang as falang, so maybe she say's farang which would be good to hear because that's how they spell it!!! But she did say if it's not spicy it's not deRicious, same as my Thai ex gf used to say, but she said deLicious!!! She also say's aroi as aloi like most Thai's so it's a bit mixed up between R's and L's.
She is a wonderful teacher I'm sure of that, I don't remember a damn thing she taught us in this video but she did an awesome job. Her enthusiasm is off the charts.🙏👍
nice to find out about this lovely teacher Fah i look forward to signing up with fa she is very lovely bright thai lady con thai suphap jai dee mak mak im veryout health phom pen kroo glad to learn to be fluent in thai so i can be a motivational teacher in thailand i teach about health phom pen kroo sookha pab dee helps all thai peoples yin dee khrab and im involved in the wecare program to help the thai youth so its so important i can speak good thai thanks u for this info
UR So Funnee Mr Jonny, Me Rub U Rong Time... LOL, Love your Vlogs Sir. That weather is really horrendous, I would not survive that heat. I would just stay inside air-con hotel 24/7. I am concerned with your fellow influencer, she is just truly amazing. Be careful.
When I started traveling internationally in the late 80's I tried to learn at least some of the languages of where I was working but the trips were to many different countries and mostly short durations. As time went on, the trips got longer but my patience grew shorter with trying to learn. Then add in severe hearing issues that made it really difficult to try to learn. You made me miss the mango and sticky rice, one of my favorites. Oh, but the time is nearing. 100 days until departure.
If you leave the jack fruit out, at room temperature, away from UV, it may ferment. Get a buzz, after a two or three day fermentation. Depends on the saccharides present in the fruit.
I've struggled to learn Thai due to some issues and getting older doesn't help. I was planning to immerse myself into Thai lessons properly this time but these Thai tax laws on incoming foreign funds has put doubt on whether i can afford to live here anymore and put a huge damper on my enthusiasm to learn Thai. If the tax laws are enforced then I'd be better off learning Tagalog (Phillipines) which is where I'll probably go. So holding off on committing myself until next year and things are clarified hopefully.
I’m the same as you Jonny. I’ve tried to learn in Melbourne at Sunday Thai school, I forgot everything by the end of the class. I’ll give it another go but. I’m also Jonny (Jonathan)
Please don't call yourself F'N stupid, because I'm in the same boat you are Jonny. I'm 55 and I've suffered from dyslexia all my life. I realize that we are our own worst self-critics. We all might struggle at certain things but we all excel in other ways. Thats what makes the world uniquely diversified. The only way to learn things is through repetition as you're well aware. You can't just say a word, once or twice and expect to remember it a week later. You're at an advantage because you're immersed in the culture and have Thai people around you 24/7 with whom you can practice with. Thank you for the interesting an informative video. Take care.
At the outset I used the CD roms children use to learn Thai. This along with some same level workbooks with the consonants, vowels and tone marks was remarkably helpful as well as intuitive. a free android app called "Thai script" is excellent. You will learn the native pronunciation and it has quizzes as well. I had also enrolled in a 1 year program thinking it would help but was disappointed. I entered at the level where my class read Thai language daily but the teacher should have but never dissected what we read so we could better learn. I saw a high % of other level students lacked focus and discipline.
Hi Jonny i was learning Thai from CDs a number of years ago i found that better as we do not need to learn how to read or write the language just speak it...Sawadee Krup...
When fah speaking Thai her tone became softer while speaking English the sound is harsher, must be something in the throat that stop the pronunciation. Fah has a very strong Thai accent when speaking English but it is clear enough to understand. Imagine us speaking Thai in English accent = this strangeness is probably what it would sound like to the Thai. 😅😮😊
Hands down the best outro to a video I’ve ever heard!! ‘ if you havnt learnt any Thai from this video your either stoned, drunk or just f’ing stupid like myself’😂😂 Love your work Jonny 🤙🏻
excellent video Jonny, Love the straight forward no bull shit descriptions, you tell it like you see it, dont sell your self short you extremely smart and have done very well for your self and som and your son, your living the life that most of us wish we had the balls to try, stay safe and ps. thank you for the tip about seeing the gold coast when I was in Australia last may. it was awesome
Thanks for a great video, lovely lady by your side, trying to teach out some Thai! I'm trying to learn Thai here back home in Sweden and it's going pretty okay when I do my lessons on the Mondly application BUT then when I listen to Thai people talk to each other I almost understand nothing, It feels hopeless.
Haha. Your gag reflex is legendary. The lessons with the food was great, mate! I got one of your T1 minis. Not sure if that will make me more lazy learning the lingo.
Well Jonny, I know I'm not drunk nor stoned. Stupid...I prefer challenged. lol. I'm 59 now and even though I like watching foreign content but like you i find it difficult. But like you I'm sure I could get by if not I might have to hire an interpretor. See I can't even spell right. Cheers

Jonny, It takes a lot of courage to admit you’re dyslexic. It’s good to see you’ve come out on top.
I just signed up for Fah's Thai Language Challenge last week.
Fah is such a gem. Love her personality. Can't wait to fly there in Oct. Might take her course. Cheers!
She would be a really nice teacher. So sweet and positive.

This lady is so charming, sweet, gregarious and affable! She needs her own channel!
Great to see FAh on your channel Jonny.
What a beautiful lady. Love her personality
But a pity of this tattoo on her fingers😳
If I owned a car dealership, selling Ferrari, Porshe, Maserati, Mercedes, or even Cadillac, I would hire this woman on the spot! I think she has quite a great personality. She's a natural born saleswoman.

Kru Fah is AWESOME! I was in her first set of classes, she is a great teacher!
Jonny, thanks for the video. It takes courage to talk about learning differences thanks again for sharing.
Some people just have a natural ability to pick up languages really easily but it is also a passport to travel for many and work in other countries but you can see she is a really bubbly confident person that would do well no matter what she did a very likeable quality
We've all got inadequaties Jonny .. mine being I'm to friggin old to remember .. 555. Great vlog mate she's a real gem. Bushyboy Oz.
"This is my channel now" lmaoo good to change the pace sometimes 😊
I've found Thai just as difficult. However, I have a translator and it has opened my world up.... I can now argue with my Thai inlaws. What a treat!
Really enjoyed this video, nice one 😊

I had a Thai girl I meant here in the states. Hard to understand but she spoke the universal language of love.
So jazzed you had Kru Fah on! Starting the Thai language Challenge on the 20th....looking forward to it.
Fah's enthusiasm is wonderful. With a teacher like that, there'd be no lack of motivation.
She is a wonderful teacher I'm sure of that, I don't remember a damn thing she taught us in this video but she did an awesome job. Her enthusiasm is off the charts.🙏👍

I’m the same as you Jonny. I’ve tried to learn in Melbourne at Sunday Thai school, I forgot everything by the end of the class. I’ll give it another go but. I’m also Jonny (Jonathan)
Now I see the benefit for Jonny to have an advanced translation device. He’s a problem solver that Jonny.
Fah is fantastic. She’s probably what expats dream of!
Khun Fah was a regular on Chris Parker's Retired Working For You channel. He gave her her headstart with what she does now.
Please don't call yourself F'N stupid, because I'm in the same boat you are Jonny.

I have been here 7 years and speak reasonable Thai. It's an effort.
At the outset I used the CD roms children use to learn Thai. I have lived in Thailand for 6 years. But still cannot get along with thai food. But I do eat it
Thanks for a great video, lovely lady by your side, trying to teach out some Thai!
I'm trying to learn Thai here back home in Sweden and it's going pretty okay when I do my lessons on the Mondly application BUT then when I listen to Thai people talk to each other I almost understand nothing, It feels hopeless.
Jonny, Fah is quite a delight. Brains and beauty !
Hey, good to see you finally got rid of the Harry Caray glasses! 🤓
Haha. Your gag reflex is legendary. The lessons with the food was great, mate! I got one of your T1 minis. Not sure if that will make me more lazy learning the lingo.
Well Jonny,
I know I'm not drunk nor stoned. Stupid...I prefer challenged. lol.
I'm 59 now and even though I like watching foreign content but like you i find it difficult.
But like you I'm sure I could get by if not I might have to hire an interpretor. See I can't even spell right.
Cheers
one of ur best
Fah being so Thai preparing the food, they will do everything for you bless em, even been shown what a spoon is for 🥰😆😁
Hello Johhny. Would love to learn Thai from Fah. She has a great personality. Love mango sticky rice, jack fruit, and roti but cannot pronounce.
My friend did a 2 year course to learn Thai. He spoke it very well. But my Thai gf could not understand him as he spoke Thai with an Australian accent. So I didn’t bother
Fa is very beautiful and has a great personality. She speaks great English. Wow she is a cutie and a catch
my biggest problem with thai food is that the are such large servings and even though I am a big lad, I can never eat it all or when I did, it took me ages and the staff would keep asking me if everything was ok lol.
What a great day… she is an amazing fun woman.
I'm the same I have suffered all my life with dyslexia I suffered in maths, English, biology, chemistry e.t.c. I left school with no qualifications so there was ONLY one thing I could do and that was the army and to be honest I wasn't suited for that type of job I was too young and naive. I have worked in heavy industries when I was medically discharged from the army and now my health has suffered from doing these jobs, I have white finger syndrome in both of my hands, Sheueumans spinal, hearing loss, joint problems knees and elbows and I suffer from PTSD due to the armed conflicts whilst I was in the army, but I'm trying to retire in 4-5 years and then retire to Thailand I know I will have to try to learn Thai language but I'm not sure if the dyslexia will be a problem, if you mention you have dyslexia you get the usual you must be thick attitude or they say your full of bullshit but not everyone but especially when they find out and you are there new shift manager which I have been a manager for 25 years I worked my way up the ladder by hard graft and determination.
this woman would make a great Italian. she talks with her hands.
Isaan sausage is the best!!! There's a shortcut to making it, which I have explored. Use Sauerkraut instead of sour rice. You can have it done in a day or two - fully cured. The sauerkraut has to be "real & fermented" without pasteurization. It's fantastic for your gut biome, but don't tell everybody. I don't want the prices to go through the roof on my favorite sausage.
Great vid mate. Fucking laughed my arse off at the end…. I must be the same…. 🤪
There my to favourite things in thiland u can get jack fuit in cans her in an a-line shop but its not the same I was eating mango &sticky rice I went Ito the pub for a couple of pints 🍻 but it wasn’t going the whole way I was told it’s dangerous to drink beer after eating it &then drinking beer after it at night time 😊😊
I speak monger when iam out the states..
she's a lively , friendly chick
Great video Jonny
Thanks Jonny
Far has a very nice smile!😊😊
You have done very well for yourself considering your learning ability isn't the greatest Jonny
Great ending
She has a very good energy. Does she have a own chanel
I would be her student any day, I like to learn 😁
🤣🤣😂 Jonny that last comment just cracked me up! She's a bit of all right 👍 but that wet market not for me, I would have up chuched 🤮 as soon as I got a wiff 💩Great video 👍👍
Look forward to meeting you + Som at Joe + Gift’s wedding. Rick
Thanks Rick we are also looking forward to going, it should be a big turnout. See you there:-)
That was somethin else now ... loved it ... also because of diving into Thai culture more intense with a Thai woman ... very good ... I recognized that my Thai is also a catastrophy 😄... but what about Som ? ... Couldnt she be a good teacher as well ? 😉
Jackfruit have many different kinds of them same as mango or durian etc, try until you find the one you like 👍👍👍👍☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️. The softer and brighter yellow normally sweeter, depends on your bud taste.
Been in Philippines for 16 years and I too don't speak Tagalog... I speak business , hence why we have been here for so many years lol
Well you don’t need to speak Tagalog in Colonized Phillipines that mainly choose to speak English as their cultural heritage/pride!
Yo... Will you both be shush. Don't want all the lazy idiots whom think Thai is the only answer knowing about the real Jewell...which is the Philippines
Really enjoyed video, your inability to learn the language totally understandable following your explanation at the end.
Does Fa have youtube channel?
12yr in Australia with my Thai wife - only know 4 x Words
