Shepherds pie is made with lamb. Cottage pie is made with beef. Both are topped with mash. We had sausage and mash at Garys. It was good 👍
Doesn't matter which one Todd they're both delicious to eat i'm not racist with food. Lotsa water in tnose areas since. Bushyboy Oz.

I remember the town of Vang Vien in 1955. The area was beautiful with full of nature at its best. Wow, now it is overdeveloped for tourists. I was one of the many refugees from SonLa, Vietnam. Happily in Midwest USA❤
Todd, Cottage Pie is made with beef mince, Shepherd's Pie is made with lamb mince. Presumably if it is made with Pork mince it could be a Swineherd's Pie. 🤣😂🤣😂 Great to see you enjoying a dinner date with your two girls. I always think it is amazing how Mina can switch effortlessly between Laos and English. She is such a bright girl, but the thought of her with darts in her hand sends shivers up and down my spine! God bless you all and grant you safe passage on your big trip. 😀❤🙏

The Riverview looks perfect. Such a beautiful view and good amenities. Todd it’s wonderful how you have an amazing relationship with your viewers. I look back at the kitchen door to the family room and see the marks of my two daughters. They are such a big help for me. I recently fractured my wrist my friend just trying to run up a hill in the back yard. I’m wearing a beautiful blue cast for a few weeks. Swimming is the best exercise for a person there to is. She has always been a fish ever since I started watching her. Keep it up. I’m sure she’ll let you know when she wants to go swimming.

Hi Guys Good to see Gary has managed to keep one of the few trees in Vang Vieng township. I remember those days at Sakura where they gave away shots of whisky(AKA Lao lao) which was half the price of beer Lao by volume for the to buy. I also remember the happy pizzas, when the question was not what do you want on it, but how happy do you want it to be.
Shepherds pie is made with mutton mince and cottage pie is with beef mince, both have mash on top. My mum used to grate lemon rind on top of the mash. Nothing beats a good pie.
Can see why they are booked out for the weekend what amazing place to swim and stay

The walkway (terrace) to the pool and the access bridge where both underwater when I left there today Mate. Big swell in the river overnight.

I know what it’s like to be poor, growing up with nothing, because I am Lao-American living in the Colorado, US , my mom and dad fled Laos to America for over 40 years now. God bless America as well for giving me the opportunity to go from poor to wealthy. Most importantly to be married to a wonderful, beautiful and brilliant American woman. Enough about me. My wife and I plan on visiting my family in Vientiane sometime next year. We would love to be meet you and Neenee, and personally hand you a large sum of money to continue to help the poor people in Lao.

Shepherds Pie is made with Lamb mince, Cottage Pie is made with Beef mince. Simple as that Todd, just think of what animal Shepherds look after. Never in my 76 years have I seen either with pastry. Normally the Pie is put under a hot grill just before serving to crisp up the surface of the mash.

I know this one never had it, but every pie shop in Oz you can get a shepherd/cottage with pastry.
That's what I thought the difference would be.. one had no pastry and the other did.
Been there in 2011 wen party tubing was at it`s peak before the crack down and 2016 good to see sakuhra bar stil there . Planning to revisit upcomming november. Always stayed at Phou Ang Kham ghuesthouse little bit futher down this road toward the river , wich had the Aussie Bar opposite but thats gone .

In the latest video from "Travels on Toast", named, "Extreme Jungle Survival with the Hmong", Mario goes camping in the Jungle with his Hmong friend Ken. At the end of the video Mario and Ken go to a Hmong village to eat traditional food. While Ken is driving, from the guest house to the Hmong home, Mario is filming from the back of a motorbike. Mario films a mountain that is the same mountain in Meena's home village where her grandmother lives. I swear its the same mountain. This is filmed right at 48:49 till 48:56.
Sure is mate. At the 14 second mark, that shot was captured from the main intersection in town. Mina's grandmothers restaurant is about 100m behind them 😉

I try to volunteer a couple of months a year. Would you be able to do a video of potential volunteer opportunities in Lao? I have volunteered in Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Phillipines and I am looking at Lao for next year. I have been in contact with two NGO’s but there must be others? What are your thoughts?
