Roger Hodgson wrote this about his experience of being sent away to boarding school and was his take on the fact he felt he was being told what and how to be, rather than anything about how to feel about any of it. Love this album, it's really one of those you can put on and just sit and listen to, and let Hodgson and Rick Davies put the world to rights.
Great reaction. I went to see them in Paris. In 1979 . Supertramp live was so great . What a time to grow up. Supertramp elo pink Floyd. You are on a great journey enjoy ❤😊😊
As an oldster, and one who is pretty entertained by his own thoughts, I have no trouble being left alone with nothing but the sound of my inner monologue. But I have heard more than one younger person say they have a lot of trouble with that, being without the manifold electronic distractions we have nowadays. I think we have stolen the value of quiet, of contemplation, from the young by raising them with all these digital pacifiers, to the point where I imagine the sudden silence of leaving them behind is indeed very intimidating.
I was this boy when this came out. I had hundreds of miles of this on my car CASSETTE. NAS-T tenor sax. "Breakfast in America". ALL of it. Sadly, today our "education system" turns our young into vegetables.🥺
Growing up and the erosion of innocence and having to exchange carefree wonder for responsibilities and practicalities, is a lot. And it does leave you wondering about who are you really, if you used to be so different, and now you're something terribly different that wasn't a lot of your choice. Especially when so much of self-perception is a reflection of how others see and treat you. And then if you try to take control of the process, and deliberately change yourself into something that doesn't fit the expectations and assumptions of friends and family about you, there's a high likelihood they won't like it, and may get in your way.
Great reaction to an absolute classic song. And you can never talk too much, mainly because what you say is always insightful and interesting, so keep doing what you’re doing!
Appreciate the extra insights when you already know the song a bit. They have a large catalog and the stuff that didn't get radio play is also very good.
I saw Supertramp 4 times in the 70s. Judging by your library you might enjoy a song called Roundabout by YES off the Fragile album. I've seen YES 36 times. Enjoy your YES journey ✨️🎶✨️
You, talking too much, never 😊. You do a great job with your videos and I will continue to watch them from beginning to end. I like how you put your own spin and take of the songs that you react to, you keep doing whatcha do girl that's why the members of your community love ya ❤.
I enjoyed your reaction to this most illogical song! My suggestion to you would be to go back to the band's initial great album, Crime of the Century, and react to each of the awesome seven songs from that LP! Enjoy!!
It's all right to be a word up it's all right not to be what they call acceptable but let's put it this way enjoy the anthem of us that could they call weird
Possibly you and all other reactors should act research things, With respect even PPL from the US have access to enormous databases of knowledge, and Supertramp were incredibly good musicians.
When they sent you to school to strip your way of all yourself and made you into something that it's not you that you still exist with inside you and then drop you into the world but the world you're living in and you're working in is just f****** insane in what you were doing just not you you just have to find yourself again you have to understand that you're okay the world's the people in the world are just screwed up just because you say yes and everybody else says no or everybody else says no and you say yes doesn't mean you're wrong
I could not ever imagine listening to music on such crummy earbuds. And what i mean by that is ANY earbuds. Get yourself some high quality $400 bose or beats headphones. I prefer beats since the high end bose lack tons of bass. Either way, still a million times better than what you are using. You will notice far more in the songs with high end headphones.

Beautiful song it's the kind of song that stays with you through out the years. Still love it.

Yeah he's talking personally about when he was sent to a boarding school as a child

Even though I don't listen to them Supertramp always has a special place in my heart as it was one of my mom's favorite bands

Thank you! I'm a 72 year old that needed the reminder to enjoy quiet reflection occasionally.

Love this song!
Una canción lógica, oportuna, necesaria, trascendental, única. Gracias por haberla escuchado. Buenísima, muchas gracias por haberla vivido.
The whole album is timeless, IMO!
Real classic of Rock times! ❤🏖
Long Way Home and School also are two master pieces.
They have several songs from this album live in Paris 1979 that are all amazing!!! You should react to them! ❤❤❤

Great song and reaction
Exceptional song!
Great band, Epic song
I escaped the basement!! Don’t tell Rach!!
There is no difference in the human condition regardless of what time in history we point to, the only difference is the toys we have play with.
Great song 🎵
You missed out the "Bloody Marvelous" at the end!
Maybe the video is 15 years old, but the song is from 1979.
Or let's say, the video was uploaded 15 years ago. It must have been recorded back in 1979 - maybe 1980, but not much later on.
You should listen to any lucifer singing from his TV show. He has such a great voice. Love your videos!

If you want to listen to a master piece by them listen to child of vision

Please do Kiss - I Was made for Loving You
Love this song, but Roger Hodgson is incorrect. There is never a time when all the world is asleep, at the same time.
That sitting an not doing anything, trying to observe and be present? That's meditation. Good mentally, emotionally, physically,. Just saying 🙂
Scooter is much better 😂
Can you please react to Closest thing to Heaven by Tears for fears, music video request plz ❤❤❤❤❤
Will you just move to New Zealand already...
hi 💛🌏💛

You gotta do The Messenger by Linkin Park
An excellent song for a terrible reaction 🤷🏻♂️
no,,,,she talks too much
Oh man, this is one band I literally cannot stand to listen to.
