    Can we see some videos with this press making tumblers with solid dark / black backgrounds?? Patterns like this with white backgrounds are fairly easy to do even with cheap tumbler presses. Getting good, consistent transfer on solid dark colored backgrounds is the real test. There are thousands of great patterns out there with backgrounds like this, but they are VERY difficult to get good results out of with other presses or in the convection ovens.

      Thanks! It does help a lot that these particular tumblers (ORCA) have very straight edges on top & bottom. Some other tumblers with rounded or tapered tops & bottom tend to give more problems when pressing.

      When using a mug press, there is no need for a heat shrink sleeve. This is because the pressure is being applied by the press.

      Hi there! You want to use light pressure with tumblers. The press should be able to simply close without having to use any physical force. As for the time and temp, we recommend 365 x 60 seconds, rotating the tumbler and pressing it again for 65 seconds.

    This press will do 30oz skinny tumblers as well? Doesn't look like the heating element is long enough based on this video since they are longer / taller than the 20oz. Usually the last 1 inch on each end of the heating elements have significant heat drop as there are no coils, so I'm curious to see a 30oz done in this press before ordering.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  3 года назад

      This attachment has been tested to work with tumblers measuring approximately 7.75” tall with a 2.75” diameter (16oz) all the way up to 9.5" tall with a 3.125" diameter (30oz). If your straight-wall tumbler fits within that range, it will work just fine.
      We have a video in the works to show the process for a 30oz tumbler, but no word yet on when that will be released.

  • @royperry5887

    ? For a 30oz tumbler using a HPN press does the time remain the same or do we increase time to compensate for the larger tumbler size?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 года назад +1

      For a 30 oz tumbler, we found that you can keep the same temp (365ºF), but you have to rotate the tumbler 2 times.
      - Press for 60 seconds
      - Rotate 1/3
      - Press for 60 seconds
      - Rotate another 1/3
      - Final press for 60 seconds.

  • @steinbierz
    @steinbierz Год назад

    Sorry, might have missed it but did you explain why you rotated and heated again? Is this a normal thing to do? Also, I have seen in several videos where you say, "cool for several moments." Is that 30 seconds, cool to the touch, minutes, etc.? Is there such a thing as letting it cool for too long while you are preparing another tumbler or mug? Thanks.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  Год назад

      Yes, if it is a full transfer, then you must rotate and re-press as there is about an inch opening on the top. We recommend peeling until it is cool to the touch. No such thing as too long :)

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 года назад

      When sublimation ink is heated, it turns into a gas dye. Sometimes that gas seeps out. If there is any moisture in the paper, that will also evaporate. Unless there is a noticeable burnt smell, that "smoking" is normal.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 года назад

      If your setup requires you to use protective paper, go for it. You always want to do what's best for your specific situation. We do recommend using parchment paper over butcher paper for sublimation, since parchment can withstand higher temperatures. (We use Sawgrass ink and TexPrint DT sublimation paper and haven't found the need to use any extra paper when sublimating mugs and tumblers.)
