+Cruzinon22s There are times when we definitely do grind through slow bites to put together a show but on this particular segment, we didn't use a hand full of fish because we combined the segment with an open water segment for the television episode. Bite had lulls during the day which is to be expected but we had some fun action towards dark.
Have you ever fished 6 Mile Bay (close to Devils Lake) before? I'm very new to ice fishing and I'm heading out there soon, planning on hitting known weed lines but I don't know where fish are during winter nor good/bad approaches to go about fishing them...
+Steve Oliver Six Mile can be very good. We find them on the shallow shorelines at times and there are also some points, a few humps, channel edges and some flooded brush areas that hold walleye. You are also not far from some Main Lake areas like Doc Hagens and Bud Bay. Good luck!
+Steve Oliver Those work excellent. Another lure I have caught a lot of fish with this year is the medium size Clam Rattling Blade Spoon with the glass rattle chamber.
Hey I just bought a Lure and i Don't know how to use it! I always use live bait and i dont know how to use a lure. tried minnows, they dont work ethier. how do i use a lure!?
I hardwire it into the battery but have also used cigarette plug in adapters as well but they sometimes come loose when you are driving across the lake.
+Jason Mitchell Outdoors thank you for the response. do you worry about that draining the battery while out on the ice l day? sorry for all the questions I just don't know much about sleds
Fishing is my hobby since my childhood, so like this video definitely. Thanks for it.
Yes, I would like these guys to fish in spite of the winter weather!
Wow sun up to sun down show. Bite was slow I guess.

Jason Mitchell Outdoors Thanks a lot! Been using some rapala jigs and buckshot spoons, those work well or is there something better?
+Steve Oliver Those work excellent. Another lure I have caught a lot of fish with this year is the medium size Clam Rattling Blade Spoon with the glass rattle chamber.

Does the bite slow down after the sun goes down, seems like a short window too catch them
Some days the window is narrow, like a half hour to an hour while other days surprise us in that they bite for a handful of hours.
What type of bait was Rick Darling using on his clam blade spoon? It looked like a soft plastic fish eye, do you know who makes them?
+Chad Haugeberg We think it might be an Impulse Perch Eye.
Jason what type line did you put on your pole?
+Weston Bich 10 pound Bionic Braid
Do you use vodka or whiskey to get warm? )
That looks like a Charles Bisbee sorta spot :)
+Chad Halvorson We do see him around!
Incredible. I sometimes for three or four hours of sitting with nothing. Amazing speed catching!
very cool video
Very Good
Also what is that drill auger combo?
+Weston Bich Using a K Drill paired with a Milwaukee Fusion
+Jason Mitchell Outdoors how much did that combo cost? What size hole?
+Weston Bich The eight inch drills are about $250.00 at www.icefishingtoday.com and are paired with the cordless drill.
cool, I like it!
All fish are back in river) Good! :D But next time be more careful, dont hurt them. 3:10 think that is painfull for them.
how do you wire your sled for the lowrance unit?
I hardwire it into the battery but have also used cigarette plug in adapters as well but they sometimes come loose when you are driving across the lake.
