Good luck fellas!
Hey Cleetus are you guys going to be at the Scag Power Equipment Pro Superstar Shootout or doing anything at the Freedom Factory that weekend
Congratulations to the 8.50 on ruby
Swapped the ''Street Nose'' back on Mullet. The team is killing it.
I know Garrett is obsessed with no hoods, but Ruby looks SO good with a hood
Right I love the custom cutouts especially Ruby's!
actually it's the other way around. he just does the whole no hood thing for the channel as a joke from the early days of leroy and people yelling about putting a hood on ruby. he let that slip years ago during a live stream. ;)
@@sirmonkey1985yup he does it for us cleet is best honestly 😂
I love the twin slashed pipes out the top too

Seeing jackstand that fired up is f***ing amazing, love you guys! I’m literally grinning from ear to ear seeing him that fired up
Right? Whenever the guys are freaking out at a slip he just wants to see the numbers. It's so cool to see him just lose it. And it's well deserved.
Couldn’t agree more glad to be the 100th like
9:30 bro, no one can work the camera as good as George, idc what anyone says, George is the MAN. The glasses lift/squint was A+, never seen George a single time IRL but I love the guy lol, never change George, never change!
We gotta get him back in Rocky! Those were some great in car reactions, let’s goooo!
Everyone could hope to have a friend like george
He’s a bro, down for anything.
George is such a valuable addition to the channel.
I wish they'd either fire him or take.hos right to speak away.
Those brakes were red hot! Glad you got it shut down.

Speed bump garage? Hey Kent I’m subbed to your channel and Cleetus’s
@@Brodawgs7OnTT131 💪🏻thanks!
@@SpeedBumpGarage no problem love your videos
226mph on a spin/wheelie is a good indicator of the power that transmission is dealing with... Super impressive. Glad you/mullet survived that rocket ship landing Cleeter
226mph in 1/4 mile is insane anyway, let alone the spin/wheelie. That was a 6.5 run at least. Super pumped mullet and cleeter are okay tho
Time to hook a manual up to mullet. Maybe a 4 speed. It will hold up so much better.
@@Just_In_credible6 yeah something like what Leroy has
@@Just_In_credible6 A manual trans in such a heavy car with that power wouldn't hold up even a single run down the strip.

She did lol

@user-rv5jr1vm1q you cant just put a car in, in the middle of the event
I would love this, but you cant just enter a car in the middle of the event. And Leroy is not setup for street driving. there is no water in the block, no alternator and so on.
I dislike george and find him off putting and annoying, they really need to find a more professional camera person...
@@iamunknowablesince when has this channel focused on strictly being professional for the RUclips channel? They take the right stuff serious, having a hype camera man keeps the energy up. You're literally the ONLY complaint about George I've ever seen. You're basically alone, it seems. Sorry not sorry, we absolutely love George.
Cleet never looked frazzled at all during incident. Dialed fully in complete control one hand on the wheel as he headed toward the sand. He was calm and scrubbed as much speed as he could. Man is insane under pressure, glad he’s ok and it went was well as it could’ve given the circumstances.

@@ThomasGermarbro shut up
That again proves your skill to drive. Going over 220mph and remaining so calm and not locking the brakes completely, small movements on steering... glad that every one and everything is ok! Keep it up guys!
He locked them up multiple times, you can clearly see it in the video. Not knocking his skill, but it amazes me how people will lie to themselves to praise others. If he didn't have those garbage little brakes he might not have been in the sand trap, but why are you making shit up?
@@TheHannukahZombie garbage little brakes? He stopped from 220 mph.
Yeah saw it on live stream seen the smoke from the wheels
@@TheHannukahZombie well haahaa. I said the he did not lock them up completely. I'd like to see anyone brake without locking any in that situation 🤣 maybe sit down, have a glass of milk and cool off.
garbage little brakes? those brakes saved a 3500 pound machine from eating shit at 220mph, also you realize tbm is basically the best brakes you can buy for this type of stuff right? I'm sure cleetus wouldn't cheap out on the brakes knowing he's going to go 200+mph and have a chance of only having brakes cause chutes love to not work. don't talk you have no idea what ur talking about@@TheHannukahZombie
I've always enjoyed how you handle short comings and issues that normally would piss someone off. The temperament you show is one of the reasons I subscribe. We all have our bad days, it's how we deal with it that matters. Thanks to the whole crew.
He could have roasted the seller, instead took the high road. He makes good editorial decisions, they can roast trans dude around the camp fire off camera and keep the content focus where it belongs. Tip of the hat to Garret and team
Never seen Cleet make the wrong decision and Ive been watching for years. Dude is as real as it gets, deserves all the success
From what I've seen, dude was gonna let him borrow it, so he said on 1320 instead of explode the loaner transmission, he is just gonna give it back to the guy as a "thanks anyways, but my car will finish off that trans" I think transmission guy thought cleet could get through the week on it and didn't realize, in cleetus' words, "Mullet will destroy any part that isn't PERFECT"
That’s everyone at a drag strip bud
A bad day at the strip is actually a good day for content.
The fact that Steve just handed over all those parts to help Cleet if anything were to happen. That’s so cool man. That just shows you how good Steve is to his friends and customers.
His car caught fire I think so he had no use for the parts at all, so I don't think him handing over all his spares would be a normal thing.
However you can see that Cleetus was still going to get parts so yes he does definitely look after his customers
@@mitchhifi9192if I'm not mistaken it's not the first time Steve has just handed em parts during a drag n drive. If I recall correctly he's bailed them out with some spares he had for himself I think at least twice.
@goosenotmaverick1156 yeah I mean Steve seems a cool guy, but from a business sense too you have to remember cleet is a massive advertisement for Steve Morris Engines, Cleet doing well is good publicity for his company and therefore it makes sense for him to want to keep cleet going as much as possible
@@MrJaiimez oh by all means I agree it's a good thing to do as far as business interest and advertising goes, stuff like that. But that doesn't mean all folks make good choices like that either, ya know?
For the money cleet’s spent w him, a box worth 10 grand ain’t shit lol
Honestly loved seeing Ty and Sam behind the wheel, they put in a shit ton of work, would love to see more of that🤘🏼🤘🏼
And I wanna see Zach behind the wheel too!
I had a feeling ruby was about to nail that 8.50 as soon as they told us the time right before. Ruby is back! That was one of ny favourite moments on your channel!
Yep yep she’s always been bracket car consistent
Ruby was certainly worth the wait!! She has a special spot in my heart. Buying her at auction was the episode I found this channel!!
If that isn't a true testament to the stopping power of those TBM brakes, than idk what is. To get a 3400lb machine to stop that fast from 226 mph is absolutely insane! And of course, having a highly skilled driver behind the wheel definitely helped! Glad you're ok and Mullet was able to drive away virtually unharmed (Other than that Turbo 400 😅)
Technically many other brakes would have as much stopping power as TPM breaks, but then they would highly likely warp and TPM breaks won't, that's their true strength :p
Lightweight brakes are a bad choice when your parachutes don't work.
It would be way better off with a large rotor like Porsche and track cars use. Using a wave rotor with less surface area can't stop as well as a full disc. Surface is surface area. There's no replacement for it and it's a reason why the most expensive track cars are using huge steel brakes. Saying that though the TBM probbly out brake any skinny upfront anyway so tire is really the limitation
He had one parachute…
@@Shiftheads Well friction has nothing to do with surface area, so the stopping power would theoretically be the same. But you need surface area and mass to take the heat. Thats why track cars need big brakes, they have to brake again and again without time to cool down.
Wow... that chute not deploying proved your level of awareness/driving skill. I've NEVER seen anyone threshold brake like that before. That was crazy to see. It doesn't cross 99% of people's minds in real life and death scenarios but once again, that was awesome!
100% agree. It's so easy to panic and everything happens so fast! He didn't waste a single millisecond. Like for real dude. It all counted and he used every bit of it. Damn.
You know George got excited about Ruby's run when he turned the camera around and talked to it, he doesn't do that to often!.
Thats nuts how those brakes were GLOWING and STILL managed to lock up, SOLID brake setup 👌 and yea, at those powerlevels everything eventually ends up becoming a consumable lol.
Steve, "I'm going to let you take the whole case", Cleetus " ooohhhh".
Probably 10k in parts in that small box.
I bet more

But seriously this channel brings so much happiness to my life you wouldn't believe it! thank you Cleetus and all the rest. Sam is having the time of his life!!
What a freaking driver. It was sliding back and front. Then the whip at the end. Bravo cleet
As someone who is stuck in "dad mode" after fostering a little boy, I recognize it. Cleeter was honking his horn for that little kid in the stroller, notice the gentle honk. I say it every post, but you're killing it as a dad bud!
100%
Yes a good dad. But honking for that kid is making a stretch
dad bud with the dad bod
YOU are killing it as a dad (Cleeter too), and choosing to become a foster parent is next level in my opinion. If/when that child gets adopted I'm sure that he will be reluctant to call his new father 'dad' for a while.
Sometimes broken parts keep us from pushing when all the signs are telling us to chill out. Stay blessed Cleetus.
19:04 countersteering slowing down that fast with one hand inches from the wall is actually crazy, some serious driver mod right there Cleetus
aw Garret I could see the frustration on your face buddy - But I totally agree, at the power levels you are running, add that to the fact you really are going fast, its time to be like the big teams and carry a spare. You will feel a lot more confident having that spare. Nice save on the sand trap!
Hell the big teams still drop out with spares. It's just how it goes when your at this level.
Spare trans and spare trans guts. Definitely needed at this level.
@@phantom240yeah a master rebuild kit and extra backup gears rdy to go. Having a spare good to go trans is much faster than rebuilding it tho. But wouldn’t hurt to have both
13.70 for Sam!!!!! I had no idea those were that fast stock, wow.
And ruby, you beauty! What a run.
It is crazy. 13.7 for a stock, what is essentially a work truck. Though that does play to it favor.
And that wasn't on the converter or anything, and still not broken in. There's a lot left in that truck even being stock.
What’s crazy is that is what bolt on 2nd gen lightnings would run… now that’s what stock bare bones work trucks are running.
It is the coyote with the 10 speed tho. That's makes a little difference from just a regular f150
@@waynerohde1036 Not really. My 2.7TT equipped '15 Ford Edge with only a tune run's 12.9's and it's definitely heavier with a much more terrible AWD system than the F150 single cabs. Stock even with the ecoboost V6 the F150's are a weapon. The coyote is actually a little slower.
My god what a rollercoaster of emotion. George’s reaction to the 8.500 was so amazing. Seeing Garrett putting Mullet in the dirt made me nervous. Cleet you’re a legend man . Please be safe dude. I don’t need my hero going down.
Yep, b4 plowing up the back 40 those rear rotors were glowing and throwing sparks pretty good. Lesson learned: Remove hitch and or ball b4 any full passes are made and chutes are needed!

Unfortunately I am all too familiar with parachute failure. Glad you got out alright and those brakes held up. Definitely a scary feeling. Man seeing those brakes glow red is crazy.
Can’t imagine what it’s like going through the traps knowing your parachute has failed. Had to be one of the scariest things to experience when making a pass.
Congrats on the 8.50.0 love the live feed sorry about mullet great driving
Been there done that Just glad your ok as for Mullet it can be fixed
I used to skydive, and I packed my own primary. But I always had my reserve packed by professional. And whenever he was in the building, I would have him observe me packing my primary to make sure that I was doing things correctly.
It may be time to add a third parachute to mullet. A high probability of at least two deploying. Maybe the third parachute would be a reserve that is not packed by you, but is packed by someone else, and you only deploy that parachute in the event of something scary.
I also have suggested this before, but I didn't see any kind of reaction on it. You might want to look into sliders. Sliders delay and slow the opening of parachutes. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but it would greatly improve the controllability of the car as the parachutes open. I've seen several times it looked very scary because of the way that yours deploy and the way it jerks around the back of the car. Now, I am not a drag racer, never done that. So I really don't know a lot about that. I do know something about skydiving and sliders when appropriately used really do make a difference in both reducing the impact, improving controllability and reducing the number of tangles and other malfunctions. Also, reduces damage to the parachute itself.
Now, I don't know if sliders are applicable in drag racing, that might be something you want to look into. There may be a good reason that they're not used. I don't know.
Yours was considerably more scary.
It is definitely something I never want to repeat. I went into a soybean field at about 30 miles an hour when I was testing my car and had a brake failure. I ran to about 880 feet and let off and didn’t pull my parachute because I had plenty of room to stop that was until I hit my brakes and the pedal went flat to the floor because I had a left front caliper fail. The car was pretty much unscathed except for seat cover that I sucked up my butt.
All that said Cleetus take the trailer hitch ball/receiver extension off when racing and or get some sort of shelf that inserts into the receiver hitch to keep the chutes from getting fouled when deployed
I’ve never been so excited to watch someone run an 8.500 except when Leroy was dipping into the 8s for the first time😅that was INSANE!!!

Congrats to the team for a good day!
I was wondering if they were damaged from the extreme heat. That disk was looking mighty toasty. Very impressive performance.
@Slushpuppy154 TBM brakes shtick is the design of the rotors prevents them from warping under extreme braking heat unlike traditional rotors in most cases.
Imagine not having those shitty little brakes on your two ton racecar trying to save weight.
@fast97z24 Not much better dude..it was locking the tires up even at the end when it was near max temps.
Bloody hell that run was hairy, i will say the suspension shot is awesome, that rear end is a work of art!
Tbm brakes and the fluid you got in there did amazing tbh, never lost braking force, you still able to lock em up hot as hell. Also they look to have cooled super fast when you did your manual abs, that saved you watch them glow and then go back to nothing every time you let go of brakes super proper
They abuse the hell out of those TBM brakes and they seem wildly durable as far as each individual pass goes. Obviously they have a limited lifespan but amazing nonetheless. I'm always impressed every time they're tested even harder.

@@aaronpreston47 I do, but an 8-9 second pass is WAAAAYYY different than not stopping during a low 6 to low 7 second pass at 200 plus. Lol
Taking that out with Mullet like a boss. Instantly pivoted to focusing on and supporting his team. ❤
All the cars look amazing. Great driving cleet! Thanks for keeping mullet safe. Great driving
That run was gnarly, glad you were safe in the end. And Jackstand absolutely nailed that run
James Taal is an absolute machine! He didn't even blink once during the entire run. Oh and that '79 Mustang Pace Car going by in a couple of the shots is beautiful!
Man.. SO bummed about mullet being out already but gah DAMN RUBY!! What a freakin start to the week! Glad you're okay Cleet. Hopefully, you guys can get some testing done on Mullet to get him dialed in now that the 4 link is in him. Keep your head up!
Video paused currently at 10:40.....how in the hell did James call that time perfectly from in car. That man is made to drag race just like our boy cleeter, I swear he is just so good at it. Living Legends in the making
Shout out to Cleetus's driving ability. Glad you didn't get hurt. Glad see Ruby doing good. Was hoping to see some good numbers out of Mullet but that's racing. Great job team!
So good to see tye racing he deserves it and mad respect for building his beautiful beast of a ranger by himself in his spare time also glad cleetus and mullet are safe and jack stand and Ruby are smashing it
I LOVE 💕 HOW CLEETUS'S CREW IS SOO UPBEAT AND HAPPY 😁. Smiles all around this team, plus, the positivity uplifts the vibes! Sam just beaming with joy, so cool 😎. Plus, the stud mechanic with Ruby doing 8.50, sooo exciting!!! Great job Cleetus & Friends. Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
Each video I watch on this channel, at some point I remember him still in the early stages of Leroy. I’m so glad the guy has become so so successful, he comes off as incredibly genuine.
that smx finally broke in lol dam mullet is a rocketship , that transmission is a trooper lock up aswell and ruby jack stand races in his sleep lol his life is racing good luck and im on the feed
This man is cool, calm, collected knows exactly what he’s gonna do to stop that heavy beast going 220 miles an hour. Pure wheel man. 👍🏼👍🏼
I would’ve had to find a porta-potty after that.
19:02 Only Cleeter would "woot" as he was going into the sand lol. 🔥
I think he wooted because he did run straight into the sand and stopped it at the entrance of the pit
@@chrisbeatty743 Yeah, it's his response to the situation that I'm talking about. He was hyped up... instead of being stressed or mad about his shutes not deploying. Basically I love his attitude.
That could have been bad. Glad ur good.
At first when I seen the drone shot, I thought you had clipped the edge of that yellow wall and I was like, "I know my man Cleet is alright but THERE GOES SICK WEEK" dang, Mullet a certified offroad build now! 😅
Still out of the event, just not because of that
@@wingracer1614 yeah, I commented at the beginning of the video 😅
😆 love the "whoo!" after he finally stopped. lol Cleetus
made me laugh!
