My dad and I went to see the Top Fuels race in Indianapolis I think it was September 2023 and it was definitely something fierce. When the first nitro car came out, a funny car, it took off, and my entire world shook and i didn't plug my ears the first time lol it was insanity. The car launched and by the time I was able to see straight again I look over and see it trapped 330 in under 4 seconds. They really are a sight to see and it is so awesome that Cleetus worked with these guys to get one on his channel!
I worked for Indy Cylinder Head back in the day, we used to "break in" top fule motors for Joe Gibbs on our engine dyno from time to time. Probably the worst experence of my life. To be in a small room with a running nitro motor is madness, I'm amazed no one died. The exhaust is pure tear gas, it's so loud it hurts your chest, everything will burn you, and that blower belt will litterally rip your arm off.

I've been following Clay ever since he started his YT channel. Really like how he represents top fuel and the pursuit of winning each round. When I went to my first NHRA race I knew the TF and funny cars would be loud, but nothing short of standing next to a fighter in full afterburner prepared me for the air pressure change.
I did some bracket racing in highschool, street pulls as I got older, maybe 50 1/4 mile runs in my life and seeing Cleet come this far is insane to watch. I mean them building a ten second car out of pretty much anything they want is super fast. 10 seconds is a bad ass car. Then to see cleet slowly make his way to 9,8,7 and now 6's in mullet is pretty standard. 100k motors and free floating rear ends is a super high level of racing. Yet, its almost a bigger gap from top fuel to mullet then the gap from mullet to sam's f150. Clay is such a cool dude. For anyone who hasn't been near one of these cars or seen them in person, do it at least once in your life! Staggering Brute Force!
I love going into the data behind top fuel dragsters, it's just mind blowing stuff! They're true engineering marvels! So the fact we're gonna see them tearing one down is going to be SICK!!
Clay is such a chill dude. We used to do his websites and stuff and he was 100% a class act any time we were fortunate enough to go to races with him. I still remember the first time I took photos for him. I lined up my shot on the start line as they took off and I was fortunate enough to take a photo of the stars lol. The shockwave almost knocked me on my butt.
Well I seen them in Bristol in the pits and it's so loud when there testing the clutch like throttle rips it shakes the ground under your feet so much the fact it feels like you're stomach is in your throat

Every person on the planet should experience standing next to a top fuel dragster when it blips the throttle. It feels like your body is going to explode!!
I was at one top fuel event when I was like 15 with my cousins. Sadly, we didn't go to the pits, but I can absolutely confirm that when they run, it kinda feels like your guts are liquefying for a few seconds. I fully intend to go to the pits one day.
Seeing Jesse, Izzy, Double Duty Austin, Ringo Blaine, Matt Can, Trucker Shane, & Andrew the Great roll that car out with the CLEETUS logo was the most special moment Since Ripley was born!
Back when the boys were young, ens we would go to Pomona for both races. One Saturday we were in the pits and and I stepped into that cloud on purpose. My eyes still burn 45yrs later. Mr. McMillan was standing with us. He jumped as much at the Wack as we did and was laughing as hard. Pure Gentleman.
So much good. Literally clay brings a top fuel dragster to your shop. Then you beat the Tesla. And give your trophy to a couple of fans. Cleetus getting that good karma
That plaid pulls HARD, even tho it was at about 50% battery at the start of the racing. Still, the turbo S is such a good car, it makes up for its lack of power around the corners by being lighter and having great suspension.
TF in person is THE coolest shit ever. Seeing first timers get the throttle whack in person makes anyone laugh like a kid. Clay and his team are awesome.
Congrats on the big win & giving that trophy away to the kids in the stands was really wholesome they will remember that for the rest of their lives.. 👏
Clay Millican is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Man always has a smile, win or lose. When I worked for the NHRA, he was my favorite driver to talk to and the end of the track. Couldn't have had a better driver to put your face on the side of their car.
I swear every year they add a thousand horsepower to the number of these top fuel dragsters. Whatever happened to 9,000 then 10,000 then 11,000 then 12,000 then 13,000 then 14,000, now it's 15,000 apparently 🤯
Sorry for the confusion Developments in fuel delivery, intake design, clutch application, small details and track prep have contributed to improving hp estimates. Any top fuel driver knows they spin the entire run which makes it a little bit tricky to calculate the hp 😑 A dyno run shows a better projected hp figure without the wheel spin Sorry for contributing to your sleepless nights. Clay
I would have loved too be a fly on the wall when Clay was discussing this with Jim O and Rick, I bet it was interesting, but Jim O is use too crazy shit he worked for Connie Kalitta, my buddy worked for him on Scott's car and I heard some crazy stories back then.
My uncle raced the top fuel rails for a bit when the hemis came back out. He was setting new records like crazy!!! When I was 9 he let me sit in it while running and let me tap the throttle. I was hooked on hot rods and drag cars instantly since then..

Clay just got a whole lot more fans. What a cool guy!
Watched Clay when I was a kid, one of my favorites not only because of being a fantastic driver but because of his wonderful personality!!!
Awesome video!! Also giving that little girl your trophy at the end of the video was an awesome thing to do!
You just made a lifelong impression on that little boy at the end, that was awesome.
@8:14 George to Clay, “That’s why you have a professional crew chief…” Cleet “Yaaaa….. We would’ve made a pull” hahah... 😂😂
I cannot imagine how loud that thing is indoors. 😮
Well I seen them in Bristol in the pits and it's so loud when there testing the clutch like throttle rips it shakes the ground under your feet so much the fact it feels like you're stomach is in your throat
I just rewatched the first time you met diesel Dave and the guys 3 years ago. When they raced Ruby! So freaking cool to see how far y’all have came!!! Freaking BLACKHAWK BROTHERS! I’m a 9 year ARMY VETERAN and am super jelly!!! Keep on keepin RUclips alive. One love brother.
Clay is by far the nicest man in racing. He’s like that in person too. Really an awesome guy.
Clay Millican is one of the most positive and enthusiastic guys ive seen! Ive never heard of him before the PFI/Boostedboiz vids but im a fan of him since! Hope you'll do well Clay!😎🤙
I loved how once it started everyone just stood back and admired it
Every person on the planet should experience standing next to a top fuel dragster when it blips the throttle.
Same here... seen them at Santa Pod a few times over the years.. its an experience. They dont accelerate.. THEY EXPLODE. 😎
@@Cordfosworth Yeah, it feels like a nuclear blast for a few seconds.
I felt lex joon mpm oil his topfueldragster at drachten netherlands 2008
Seeing Jesse, Izzy, Double Duty Austin, Ringo Blaine, Matt Can, Trucker Shane, & Andrew the Great roll that car out with the CLEETUS logo was the most special moment Since Ripley was born!
AND JIM-O!!!
GREAT TO SEE CLAY ... !!!
That's awesome you made them kids night. Love it. Cleetus
So much good. Literally clay brings a top fuel dragster to your shop. Then you beat the Tesla. And give your trophy to a couple of fans. Cleetus getting that good karma
Cletus looks so happy in his fire suit and helmet!! 💣💥
I been going to nhra races since im 5 years old with my grandfather. Im glad more people are becoming aware of how awesome they are
Clay and Brent have to be the smiliest, most positive people I’ve seen ! Great content
Trophy hand off 👌👍
Kyle almost had the second round at the end .. he was chasing HARD😄👍
That plaid pulls HARD, even tho it was at about 50% battery at the start of the racing. Still, the turbo S is such a good car, it makes up for its lack of power around the corners by being lighter and having great suspension.
The way that boy looked at you like you were a superhero. He'll never forget that. They both won't.
Cleetus you‘re one of the really good guys. Passing on the trophy to the kids at the end was awesome. Look their eyes! Keep it on
Clay Millican is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Man always has a smile, win or lose. When I worked for the NHRA, he was my favorite driver to talk to and the end of the track. Couldn't have had a better driver to put your face on the side of their car.
That dragster would have blown up that dynamic and possibly taken the car with it lol. Good thing they pulled the plug
Clay Millican is a legend!
Super cool ,your made that little kids day giving him the trophy..that's what's it all about! Mad Respect!
The look on that kids face when he gave them the trophy was priceless.
I swear every year they add a thousand horsepower to the number of these top fuel dragsters. Whatever happened to 9,000 then 10,000 then 11,000 then 12,000 then 13,000 then 14,000, now it's 15,000 apparently 🤯
12000 is what they make at the % of nitro they run in top fuel if they could run 100% nitro it would probably make 14000hp
Well they seem to go faster every year so something is changing.
Sorry for the confusion
Developments in fuel delivery, intake design, clutch application, small details and track prep have contributed to improving hp estimates.
Any top fuel driver knows they spin the entire run which makes it a little bit tricky to calculate the hp 😑
A dyno run shows a better projected hp figure without the wheel spin
Sorry for contributing to your sleepless nights. Clay
Science...
that's called progression. I remember when 600HP was doing something in a street car now you need at least 1200HP to play the game
The best part was giving the little girl and boy the trophy.
I was surprised Jim O went as far as it did. Which was way cool to watch.
I would have loved too be a fly on the wall when Clay was discussing this with Jim O and Rick, I bet it was interesting, but Jim O is use too crazy shit he worked for Connie Kalitta, my buddy worked for him on Scott's car and I heard some crazy stories back then.
Clay Millican is one of the most amazing men who loves what he does. He loves his fans. Solid guy. Always smiling even when it’s not going his way.
Clay and Jeff being there was awesome but, you giving the kids your trophy was absolutely awesome! You made their day!
Huge Hell yeah brother to RWR to allow Clay and JimO and crew to do the craziest Dyno attempt ever!!!!
That one crew guy standing next to it with the throttle blips with no respirator is a animal lol.
Top Fuel dragster on a dyno??? The live action is nuts! Hell yeah brother!!!
My uncle raced the top fuel rails for a bit when the hemis came back out. He was setting new records like crazy!!! When I was 9 he let me sit in it while running and let me tap the throttle. I was hooked on hot rods and drag cars instantly since then..
I remember when Ford ran Connie Kalitta's 'cammer' in their wind tunnel - the photos in (if memory serves me) Hot Rod Magazine were awesome.
