I got the 20' RJ45 network cable and it works great. Also works great for updates since it will automatically update the other units. I run a 106SV at the bow and a 126SV at the console. It is also important to run dedicated wires for your power. I makes a big difference. Thanks
Wow, this makes me very happy. I just purchased 2 new 73sv units that were on closeout through Gander Mtn. and was told I would need a network hub or blackbox between the 2 units to share waypoints. I now just need a cable. Thank you so much for this video.
Glad I can help. You are supposed to be able to share way points with the blue and brown wire that come w the units. Unfortunately I was never able to get this to work after talking to Garmin several times. The garmins are great. Takes a little while to get the settings right for side scan to show up well but I think they work really good. I will have some more Garmin videos coming soon. 👍
@@millertimeoutdoors7820 Yep, from what my manual says the two small wires brown and blue will not share waypoints on the 7 and 9 inch units. So I was told by Gander Mtn. tech support that I would need a network blackbox, but you proved them wrong. I have already ordered a 20ft. network cable. Thank you so much.
So you can link 2 93sv uhds together and share a transducer? Do you have to switch between the front and rear which one is using the transducer or will they always both be sharing it and you don't have to constantly change between the 2?
So I did the exact same thing... just installed this evening. Some of my quickdraw mapping transferred but I can't get the waypoints to sync up... any ideas?
There must have been something wrong with the sync process. When I did it I had a ton of waypoints and every one of them showed up. Maybe call Garmin on that one. Sorry!
Yea 2 transducers. I used one for livescope (separate special transducer) and one for 2d or down scan and sync for waypoints (separate standard transducer)
I have the 94sv and the 73sv and bought the RJ45 cable and can’t get it to work this comes up when I plug them into the port “Remove unsupported devises from the Panoptix port” on both devices. What am I doing wrong?
Good vid nd it got me thinking. I currently have a uhd 93 sv on the front of my boat running my panoptix. I just bought an echo map uhd 106 sv that has two Ethernet ports so if I put the 10 inch up front and use the cable to link the two together do you think I would be able view my panoptix on both screens at the same time?
I am running two 93sv. At the moment u am using the front one fo my live scope, mapping and 2d. Using my back unit for mapping and side scan but want to connect weight points. This will work even if I am using the front graph for livescope and mapping right?
You need an Ethernet port for the cable. If I remember correctly the 93SV only has one and your livescope would be plugged into it. I switched to the 126SV and they have two ethernet ports. There may be a way you can plug it into the black box but you would have to talk to gamin on that one.
Great content. With two units and two transducers that I just bought, are you able to select which one to run off of? Or do you just need one transducer for both heads?
Did you network just for sharing waypoints or are you set up so you can share transducers and run livescope on multiple screens, if so do you need a network hub setup?
So I networked to share way points and also transducer data. You can use the blue and brown wire to just share waypoint but I have heard this does not work very well. I actually gave it a try recently and I was not able to get it to work properly even after calling Garmin. My goal was just to connect 2 units together. I believe if you are hooking up more than that you would need a network hub. I didn’t really see much of a benefit to network livescope to unit on my dash so I didn’t bother with it. Hope this helps if you need anything else let me know. Thanks!
Subscribed , I have two Garmin echomap 95sv I can do the same with rj45? Just to share waypoints, What about transducer? Which one will the fish finder use ?
Yeah you can do the same thing. The fishfinder has a setting for transducers so you will have to switch to whichever one you want to use at that time. They say you can use the blue and brown wire instead of the cable for sharing waypoints only but it only works for the bigger screens. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for subscribing!!
I could link them to my Ultrex. I decided not to because I used the traditional transducer for Garmin so I can use side and down scan. I knw side scan doesn’t work the best on a trolling motor but still like to have all the features up front.

Love your channel quick question I have the 73 with live scope find the screen very small they have a sail on the 95sv is it worth the size upgrade thanks if you can show me a photo with 2 next to each other that would be great thanks From Australia
I’m glad I found your video. What I was finding confusing is the back of 93 plus where you plugged in the network cable is labeled “panoptix”. So I’m thinking this is where you plug in a Panoptic transducer cable. Does the Panoptic transducer plug even look like a Ethernet plug? The back of the 126sv has two ports for networking and are labeled “Ethernet”. So after watching your video I’ll just use the “panoptix” port on the back of the 93sv as a networking connection. Thanks for video.
Yes exactly. It is basically just an ethernet port. The bigger units have two ethernet ports. That’s better if you are going to run the pan optics on the unit also. Thanks for checking out the video!!
I found this same thing. Now I’m running into an Error code that says “unplug devices from panoptix port”. I have two of the exact same untis 93sv. Any advice?

Sure I will do one. I have been wanting to do one for a while now. It’s hard to make a good one during the winter since the fish are not that active. I will try and make one this weekend if I can get something good on it. It is pretty sweet! Thanks for watching!
The RJ45 cable is not needed to share user data with two Echomap units. On the power wiring harness that comes with each unit, there are NMEA 0183 wires (one blue and one brown) that will connect the units. Using those wires, a simple two strand low voltage (24 or 26 awg) will work. Saves the $40 cost of the Garmin cabe, and is a great deal easier to run through your boat. Installation of the NMEA 0183 connection is explained and diagrammed in your OM.
Thanks for the info. I did know about that and should’ve explained it better in the video. A few people that I’ve talk to have had issues with waypoints not syncing correctly with that application. Does it work good for you? I just didn’t want to take the chance because waypoints are really important to me and Garmin said that’s the best way to do it. Appreciate watching and comments. 👍
@@bmaliha No, it does not. It shares user data only, limited to waypoints and routes. Neither will the RJ45 unless you have two compatible units that support that function. For example, Garmin GPSMAP units can share transducers, ECHOMAP ULTRA can share with ECHOMAP PLUS and ECHOMAP UHD. But you can not mix GPSMAP and ECHOMAP systems. I hope this helps.

With using this cable can you run one transducer and get sonar and downscan on both units
@@caseyhowell8213 The cable will only share waypoints, it will not share sonar information.

Can two 93sv's be networked if one of them is hooked up to a LiveScope? Looks like my LiveScope is plugged in to the only available network port?
I don’t think so. You would need to go w a bigger unit that has 2 ports. Or buy a networking box.
