- A friend wanted to upgrade to a 7800x3d which means another build on this Gigabyte b650 Gaming X AX V2 board. The V2 has a few different features from the Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX.
I am getting over a sinus infection or something, I apologize for the sound issues.

I got this too lol, All people got this board with the 7800x3d bundles. So far 0 problem with this MB
does it come with wifi? i got the same bundle and just finished the build but wifi isnt working
@@corbiwinebrenner5851 did you connect the wifi receiver to the back panel?
Same!
@@corbiwinebrenner5851would love to know
@@corbiwinebrenner5851get the eagle ax it has 12+2+2 vrm only difference is 7600mhz ram on the gaming ax its 8000mhz but it has 8+2+2 vrm which is shit and the eagle has less heatsinks on the m.2 it only has it on the main m.2 but id say its worth having the better vrm
Thanks a lot for this coverage, I needed to know the key differences between v1 and v2 boards 💪
Just wanted to say thanks for answering every comment man. You’re helping a lot of people.
Thank you. I enjoy helping people and seeing people want to build their computer.
Thanks for the video! Have the same bundle coming to me next week.
Im going to microcenter this weekend and have been planning a very similar build. This pre-answers many questions! Thanks!!
I have this same board. I installed a Ryzen 5 7600. Works great.
I have been looking at that bundle!
I’m planning I getting that microcenter bundle that has this board for my first pc build but since I work a part time and only make 200 a week the cash that I need will take a bit to come in😅. Anyways great video!! Hopefully I’ll have the cash that I need for my entire build by June 20th..
I was traveling to USA for few weeks and I saw this deal, I bought it immediately and 6950xt aswell. I am happy now waiting what case I should go for.
For cooler I am waiting Arctic freezer III 240mm
If you want a compact build and don’t want anything flashy define 7 compact is $100 but there are better flowing cases too
@@callmesxege1878 thank you. I have found H5 flow black no RGB as a good case. Perfect size and cheap.

Hey msn got this the other day at microcenter too, lol. Im pairibg with my 6950xt. I only game in 1440p ultrawide
Спасибо!
I got this board in the Microcenter combo with7800x3d / ram yesterday. Do you know if the bios should be flashed to the latest F4b version that came out on the 6th? Can I flash it with the cpu installed or should I flash before installing? Seems like people are having some issues with this combo when reading some reddits. Thanks.
I didn't have to update the bios the board came with the F2 bios. I did update to the latest today, F4b. If you are running into issues, you can use q flash plus to update bios. I did that to another board I picked up that didn't have the bios to support an 8700G and it worked well.
@@GrayaOverload Thanks so much. I haven't started the build yet and was just contemplating whether I should go ahead and update the bios before I put it all together or wait to see if it posts as is. I guess I should see how it goes before I flash it.
I know Gigabyte says don't do qflash plus with cpu, memory, etc installed. I q flash plus with everything connected and worked fine, which was good to see.
Thinking about getting the Microcenter bundle, do you think it's worth it or should I just get a different motherboard?
I think it is worth it. I drove down to one with a friend so he could get it
I have a question about the SSD M2A, M2B, M2C slots. Does it matter which slot you assign your OS and which is your game storage?
I would keep it to m2a and m2b they are direct to the cpu. Now if you have a pcie5.0 drive put that in the m2a and put games on that one. If you have pcie4.0 drives it won't matter.
Is there any relevant difference between this and the earlier (V1) version? AX only means that it has Wifi and Bluetooth. Also, there are a few revisions of the first version, up to 1.5; revisions matter because you have to download a new BIOS from the page of the correct revision for it to work, it won't update otherwise.
No huge differences. I go thru them in the video. At the time of recording they didn't have the 8000 processors supported on the (v1). Yes, the revs matter for bios but also for drivers.
Will this mobo fit well in an nzxt h9 flow? I looked on the nzxt website but it just says that its compatible with atx mobos and I'm relatively new to pc building and wasnt able to find anything about whether this mobo would be compatible or not
Yes, this is an ATX board. Have fun building.
Hey, im getting the 7800x3d and not sure about the board. Either this v2, the previous v1 version, or the Asus tuf gaming B650-PLUS. Which one would you recommend?
I would go with the v2 or the Asus. I haven't tested out the Asus personally. For me, it would probably come down to price with the features being so close. If there is a brand that you like more that might also drive your choice. I have had successes and failures with both brands. I hope this helps.
yeah for sure, thanks@@GrayaOverload
Hi..Where ca i put my audio card? In my current old motherboard i have like a small pci port which i dont see here.Thx
It is a pcie x1card? The bottom one, then.
Hi, great video. Im doing my first build, and im hoping to get this combo today. I plan on using 5 argb case fans and an argb 360 AIO. Any suggestions on the best way to control all of this. My limited understanding is this board only has 2 argb headers and 5 pwm fan headers leaving me really short on connections. I'm a little lost if I can daisy chain and still have full argb and pwm control or do I need some sort of Hub.
Thank you. Depends on the fans you get if they can be daisy-chained. Otherwise, I would suggest a controller.
@@GrayaOverload Thank you.
At 5:00 i forgot to put the m.2 onto the ssd and direvtly put the heatsink onto the ssd should i go back and fix this?
I would go in and fix it.
What screwdriver were you using to remove the screws for the SSD?
The ifixit screw driver
Another question Im gonna install this on a 5000d airflow are there two USB 3.2 ports on the motherboard for the front panel?
It is a a single blue connector or multiple?
@@GrayaOverloadno I meant at 4:08 like is there another 3.2 port like that one? or is it just that one cuz that was the only 3.2 port u showed.
@@AlfaFang_ that is a single plug but it supports two usb. There is only one on the board. Thanks for the timestamp.
@@GrayaOverload awesome thanks for a second I thought I was gonna buy a usb 3.2 splitter
@@AlfaFang_ no problem
i just got this board too, where do you recommend installing a fifth fan? current using the three fan headers and cpu opt, have one more fan though, thanks
I would recommend a fan controller at that point. While you could try a system fan with a splitter, I don't recommend it as the fans could draw to much you could damage something, and I won't take responsibility for that :).
@@GrayaOverload gotcha thanks, forgotten about fan controllers
@@brandenfick2009 no problem happy to help.
can anyone with this board tell me if it supports CPU multiplier and CPU core voltage adjustments or it's locked?
It supports it, I did a bios walk thru and you can see all the values under tweaking.
@@GrayaOverload I just saw your video, it doesn't have the Vcore adjustment and clock multiplier setting, you can check
Let me try and take a look. My friend has this board so I should be able to get that info.
Does this mobo have a heat sink for the M.2? Should I get that with my ssd?
Yes it has a heats ink for the m.2 drive. No need to buy one.
Having a hard time choosing between this bundle for $499 or the i9 12900k bundle for $399 at microcenter. Any recommendations?
If this will be mainly a gaming machine I would go with the 7800x3d bundle for 100 more. If it will be more productive I would go with 12900k.
Do they still sell mouses with that round input ? Looks like a waste instead of an extra USB.
I think you can, but you have to look for them. It is like they had left over connectors and said let's put them on this board.
The board is supposed to light up with rgb right? I cant get it to work with the gigabyte software. Any solutions?
Yes, they have 2 x addressable LED strip headers
2 x RGB LED strip headers
1 x CPU cooler LED strip/RGB LED strip header
hey man can you let me know if you had any coil whine with this motherboard?
My friend has not had any. When I was testing it out after building it I didn't hear whine.
Could you do the b650 eagle ax selling for 159.99 while this board is 164.99 its not too different but has 12+2+2 vrm while this has 8+2+2 i think the eagle is a better deal
Let me take a look if I can. It would be great if I didn't have to buy all of these board or have someone, I know that needs a computer built.
@@olo-burrows Thanks for the information. On gigabyte site there is minor differences, like gig nic vs 2.5gig.
did yours come with an io shield or is it built in?
Built in
Does this use ALC 1220 for the audio?
I will try to check on my friend's machine.
Well, ive ordered that board, a ryzen 7 7800x3d and 32gb ddr5 6000 mhz cl30 memory as a replacement for my ryzen 5 5600x system since the mobo bios said it didnt wanna live any longer, and cant be recovered, even with the usb flashback it is impossible, so i said to myself just fck it and went all in 🤣 just waiting for the parts to come in, and then when everything is there, im gonna drain my custom water loop, to install the new platform 💀
Just built a pc with this board, and I can’t seem to find the correct drivers to install for WiFi
For this board and rev 1.x there are 2 drivers according to the support page, you can try. Did you try both?
Where can i find a diagram of the f panel so i can connect my case to the board properly plz
Their online support site has the manual
I have a question , I just got a bundle from microcenter the 7800x3d and that motherboard with ram etc. I got a master liquid cooling also but I got everything working and wired up and it turns on but the liquid cooling is just not working my cpu is just heating up instantly. I’m not sure if I plugged those wires in the right spot for the cooling. Any suggestions?
can you tell me what model master liquid cooler?
@@GrayaOverload it’s Master Liquid 360L Core ARG. It was about $100
When you plug the fan splitter in to the board was that cpu_fan or cpu_opt? and also when you plugged in pump was that in the cpu_fan, cpu_opt or sys_fan_pump?
@@GrayaOverload I had put the splitter into the CPU OPT and cooler into cpu fan
Try swapping them.
SO im building a pc with a ryzen 7 7800x3d but cant decide on the motherboard. Gigabyte x670 gaming x ax v2 is on sale for 210 and was wondering if its a good deal? Thank You
That is a good deal.
@@GrayaOverload So that one for 210 or the b650 AORus Elite AX V2. I dont know any differences!!! That one is 199.99
@@BeastRusher509 the x670 had the upgraded chipset, a bit more internal io and external io, loos to be a bit better on the vrm. Really not big differences. I would go with the cheaper one unless you see io you absolutely need.
@@GrayaOverload Sounds good than, Thank you for your help!
@@BeastRusher509 you're welcome
Is this compatible with a Asus dual gforce rtx 4090?
Yes
Would this be compatible with a MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070?
Yes
@@GrayaOverload badass
Why not ?
compatible any videocard PCIe
Which one would you go with
I would go with the V2.
How do you install a nvme drive in this
At @4:43 install it underneath that heat sink I took off. I will have a build video up this weekend.
Should I get v1 if v2 is out of stock?
Yes, v1 would be fine.
Hey man I got that same deal at microcenter with the 7800x3d and gskill ram. I do have one issue maybe you could help me with. I installed my liquid cooling AIO but my fans that are mounted on the radiator are supposed to have RGB lights and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get it to work.
What AIO and fans are you using?
@@GrayaOverload I’m using a Asus ROG strix lc ii 360.
Did you connect the ARGB from the cooler to the mobo?
@@GrayaOverload I connected the pump header into the header on my mobo that said sys_fan3_pump, and I connected the daisy chained 3 fan connectors in the connector to plug into the cpu_fan1 header.
@@GrayaOverload is their an adapter I need and what header on this mobo do I plug that argb plug into
Does anyone happen to know what I plug into the F_U320G port?
It is usually a front-panel USB 3 connector.
Thank you!!
Only 3 sys fans you’ll need a splitter
Yes or a fan controller, it isn't full of fan headers.
hey graya (or anyone that can help) i have this board with the 7800x3d and a 4080 super and its not detecting any wifi. it says this board supports wifi 4,5, and 6 as well as bluetooth 5.2. do i need to buy a wifi pcie?
It does have wifi built in. Open device manager and check to see if you have any missing devices. I am guessing you have to go and download the drivers from the Gigabyte support site.
@@GrayaOverload what am i looking for inside of device manager? if it’s network adapter and bluetooth adapter both say “this device isn’t working properly” does that mean i have to download the drivers
@@corbiwinebrenner5851 for the bluetooth that says that yes you need to download that driver. Is there any other unknown drivers? Under the network does it show the wireless adapter?
@@GrayaOverload it shows 8 wan miniports 1 nordvpn windows adapter and a realtek gaming 2.5gbe all say “device is not working properly”
@@corbiwinebrenner5851 I would go and grab the wireless driver and Bluetooth driver from gigabyte support site.
Anyone know where the SATA cable plugs in??
bottom right corner of the board they are 4 of them.

Do I need a separate WiFi+bluetooth card?
No, it comes with one.

Will this be compatible with 5.0 pcie gpu?
This is pcie 4.0 for the x16 slot for gpu. The gpu should be backwards compatible. It your are looking for pcie 5.0 to the top slot, b650e board would be where you want to look.
@@GrayaOverload yes it seems like that is the asterisk on these microcenter bundles. If you want a pcie 5.0 board u need to go with the 7900x bundle. I have a 12700k /3090 system and want to go amd but seems like without the pcie 5.0 there may not be much of a point
@@yankchef4067 in your situation I agree. You have a nice system. That is the one down side of the bundle is the pcie 5.0. I think most people are making a bigger jump. I keep think I should have got the bundle for a bench machine.
Can you make a build video setup with this motherboard? Im struggling to setup mine
Yes, I hope to have it out this weekend. What part are you struggling with. I do have a build video with previous version of this board which is close.
My problem is that not even my power supply is turning on, it's completely dead in power but I had just but the bought parts so I'm sure it has something with what I plugged in
Have you tested the power supply when not connected to motherboard, gpu, or other parts?
I thought in order for the power supply to turn on it hadto be connected to the motherboard but I did just try the power supply by itself and it didn't turn on
There is a way to test them I have 24 pin connectors that can plug in. There are probably videos on this as well. If you don't want to do that. When you have everything connect and hit the power button do you get any fan spin or lights?
Dang, i just picked this bundle up and the Mobo is showing a red light on dram. I have no display. :(
Any suggestions?
If you try just cpu memory and power Plug the display cord (hdmi or DP) into the back of the motherboard do you have the same issue?
I having same issue how to fix no keyboard and mouse
If you are not getting display and just using cpu, memory, power and then plugging in HDMI or DP to the back of the mobo, the board might be bad.
@@devinefulton6807 Insert only ONE memory module into the primary slot, then update the BIOS.
I had an issue with my board. It will not allow for wifi/Bluetooth and the m2c if I have my 3080 TI GPU installed.
If I use an old m6000 quadro or an Rx 6600 then I have the m2 and wifi/Bluetooth.
I also have 4 sata plugged in.
I had to end up buying a wifi and Bluetooth usb so I can have access 😢 (missing m2c)
I thought maybe it was a psu issue, but neither my 850w or my 1050w worked
The VGA light is on, so I guess that solves it. Although it runs fines without issue. I am assuming it is just a bad board..
Took m2 out of m2c. Light went away. Different m2 nvme does not work (tried 2 different ones) 😂
Sounds like a bad board.
Update any issue anyone.
My Friend computer I built for him is working well, he has no issues.
instead of using a sheet to show the difference, consider using text on the video
Thanks for the suggestion.
stay away from reviews like this, all in this video is what you can find on gigabyte web or sellers specs, what ppl aare really looking for on youtube, is not a sellout but if it boots, on what settings etc. not this crap. enjoy 👎 and removing this comment.
If you read the title you can see it is not a review. 😂
