Is k rool supposed to be top tier or something? Dude is everywhere online but I tear through them like it's nothing. He feels like another meh super heavy, if anything I'm more afraid of Bowser
The fact that these guys are actually having a good time means Sakurai REALLY knew what he was doing. This is the perfect storm of smash games
They all had fun with sm4sh and brawl, even entered turnements, so i dont understand why thst makes this game the perfect storm.

Hopefully ultimate tournaments pull in the viewers and money to warrant them wanting to compete, otherwise is back to melee for 10 years until Smash:Extreme comes out

I don't normally say anything that paints anyone in the slightest of negative ink.. but those players couldn't see the combos because the game is too fast. SM4SH is heavily.. HEAVILY read based while Ultimate can be played reactively, instinctively.
SM4SH can be played within this game (that's why so many are asking for nerfs this soon but i don't blame them because of muscle memory) but then it's got a whoooole other level to it, Melee players are trucking there quick.. and in this video, they aren't even taking advantage of all the new movement options (Understandable, game is new)..
Preminition here, this is the Ultimate Marvel v.s. Capcom 3 of the SMASH series. In neutral, players will be eager, salivating to press a button but will be terrified if they miss because that miss could hit them up a hearse driver. Sakurai's 10 year consideration for the next installment is fine by me.

@@acen3309 I'm pretty sure you mean 64 lol, the game where the hitstuns so crazy that one hit can lead to your death. It's also the game which plays with the most stocks because people just die that quickly.
@@jackkemp176 That's fair, however the punish game in melee is by far the most intense. wiffing a move against a fox, marth, falcon could mean a hit into a 0-death for most of the top tier match ups. shine/chain grabbing/tech chasing is deadly and mostly why I believe melee to be the game in the series where making a mistake is the most dangerous thing you can do
Geez.. I don’t like going back here now. I see the condescension and jerk in my comment. I know I almost sunk into some bad thoughts but told myself to hold reservations until Ultimate’s release because the engine was drastically different. I’m probably over thinking it.. I’m dumb. Sorry if those lines came across that way.
I can’t comment on the competitive side of any SMASH besides SM4SH. That’s the only one since I learned about the competitive scene for this series. Ironically, Melee is the one I know least about despite playing it most.
Anyway, I’m ecstatic Ultimate has more to it than shield, airdodge, and roll. Defending needs thought, especially when both players have quick reflexes during the jab/shield game. There’s many tech chases now too. You can actually keep your advantage state going and going.. it’s rewarding. While there’s some guaranteed combos, it’s more engaging for both players with these constant exhausting but thrilling exchanges. There’s game flow and rhythm now instead of defensive play being that loud, interrupting air horn quieting any creativity. A few things I’d want added or changed for controls and their settings but otherwise, I’m enjoying myself. I hope everyone else is too!
There should be an Ultimate Tournament (of Power) where they have all the top players and champions from Melee, Brawl, and Smash WiiU.

Well, the whole sequence seemed planned to me. Why dip so low in the first place? Seems like he was baiting the Luigi into coming after him... then he pre-emptively moved towards the right to get out of Luigi's way and retaliate. I guess you could say the footstool itself might have been accidental, because he was trying to get a rest instead... but everything leading up to that point seemed planned. Watching that part again: Hbox even says "you know Luigi is real easy to gimp?" then proceeds with that sequence

while it isn't as fast or smooth as melee (which it shouldn't be but man that'd be fun) I appreciate that in this game it feels like it actually lets you do stuff that is fun and full of flair (unlike how 4 felt for me). definitely a step in the right direction for me personally and many of my melee friends

I still have a Gamecube and Melee. I played a bit of Brawl and didn't like it. I picked up a Switch and Ultimate and I absolutely love it. This is the best Smash Bros since Melee.
