Does this hole in the roof 30 feet high with No railing around it really pass inspection? And no foam or cushion for fall protection. WHEN ANY BUILDING IS BURNING THERE IN NO NEED TO GO UP ON THE ROOF.
Its common practice for a procedure ventilation, its not unheard of.
You are 1000% correct! It's a macho BS heroic and irresponsible what to disrespect their families. When they go up there, they die for no reason at all. The officers cover it up by making them heroes.

"He rushed in, in the face of danger and made the ultimate sacrifice." Do you know what gets firefighters killed? Emotional BS like that. Firefighting is a dangerous as YOU MAKE IT!!!!! The tactics taught to firefighters in this country are based on all the macho, heroic, BS. If they lost 4 firefighters last year, then the Officers in that department need to be relieved and responsible ones put in their place. UL and ISFSI are 95% correct, and 95% of USA departments ignore them for the type of tactics that kill firefighters. Hey but what the heck? The hero parades sure are great.
The vast majority of the time, and I'm talking 99.9% of the time, you are accomplishing Nothing on the Roof of a Burning building! When you see firefighters up there, most of them are just standing around doing nothing and the rest are just making the fire burn better. The vast majority of firefighters who die at a fire, die from unnecessary, ineffective and irresponsible tactics.
You normal here of one in years, 4 in one year is a major problem, more training is needed clearly. RIP PRICEY BRO
