I came across your channel a couple of years ago and found it refreshing. I followed your advice and usually make around 5 listings every week. Yes it is slow and yes you do need patience. I've tried Etsy in the past and rushed into getting as many listings up as possible, only to feel deflated and disappointed.
This time, I am taking the slow route. I am making sales, certainly every week, not necessarily every day. I don't do social media or Etsy ads. My thumbnails need improving I guess, but I am making sales!
I just wish there was someone honest and direct like you to give advice about a successful RUclips channel, :D
Keep up the great work, thank you.

I believe this is how it is. I’m a new shop, working on getting more listings up. There is a similar shop that is older and has 400 listings. My newest Christmas design is way better than hers and my keywords are way better, but she is getting all the sales bc she is being shown and I am not. She is Etsy’s pick even though almost everything she lists is trademark infringement. It’s very disheartening that Etsy promotes someone who is making money off music and movie quotes. Her favorite things to make money off of are Taylor Swift and the movie Home Alone.

I have the same issue. My designs are superior to a couple of shops that started COPYING me but producing poor quality and even mass producing them using a machine. Etsy promotes the other stores with "best seller" and "Etsy's pick." My sales dropped significantly before I investigated and found out what was happening. But Etsy does what Etsy does. It's been quite infuriating.

This is where ebay wins, ebay allows all listings to rise to the top of the search result, as each listing gets close to its end date it gets placed near the top. In the past sellers had created multiple listings spread across the month for this reason, which ebay are clamping down on. It's fair to all sellers.

The basics are there, but unless the 2016, 1 item was handmade, it was cheating the system, and i bet it wasn't. This is the reason Etsy is just another Ebay, and Etsy loves the listing fees even if the items aren't described in the correct way. It is now shareholder, divideds and profit. 😢

That is totally backwards! If they only give a little visibility because the store needs to build "trust," how are they going to build trust with trickle down visibility? I would like to know what you think about the views, favorites and follows that can be achieved by joining Etsy seller forums where shops support each other (I mean the forums created on Etsy itself). You don't usually get direct sales on these forums, but I think they can help visibility, is this a legitimate way to grow organically? Is it worth spending a few minutes a day on them? There are many shops that have one or two or just a few high-quality items. You would have to really emphasize it being handmade, high-quality, etc. Learn the keywords people use who search for high-end products that you make. And then often, word of mouth advertising will get people there. There are shoppers who do not want mass-produced poor-quality items and will pay extra for better quality and craftsmanship.

I wonder this too because I put my shop on vacation mode - to actually go on vacation - and my sales slowed to nearly nothing for a couple of weeks! Then, we were hit by a hurricane and I put my shop on vacation mode again and the same thing happened. Before these two instances, I was making 1 to 2 sales per day or more sometimes. However, since then, I'm only getting maybe one sale every 3 to 4 days. It's as if I'm being punished for putting my shop on vacation mode. It has picked back up lately though so I'm hopeful that it will get back to where it was or better. I make very specific products so there isn't a huge demand but I went in knowing that and I'm ok with it. I do it as a side hustle.

ANYONE can start an Etsy store and SAY that they've made lots of money but there are very, very few people that actually provide any proof at all. Where is the link to your sales data for your store??? You should be able to provide monthly sales data since you started your store. Where is the proof that shows that you're actually making a significant PROFIT from Etsy now? Message to anyone reading this: sales (revenue) does NOT equal profit!

No. it didn't make any Sense of what you said. You actually didn't say nothing useful. You just said to us these 2 usual words the "Visibility" and "Trust". well we know these words. You didn't say the Most important thing. The "HOW To" get the visibility and how to get the trust. No social media, no SEO. Then how? and how many listings should some list on etsy to start see some sales coming? I guess you are just promoting your courses to make money. 🤦🏼

@@etsyconsultant Ok. I will watch your videos. Thank you for sharing the link!. But have in mind that people watch several random videos that RUclips suggests. RUclips has suggested me your video and I watched it. I haven't watched your other videos, so I don't know if you have talked about that multiple times. 😊
