No, I haven't regretted quitting jobs. But I regret staying on the job in my early career regardless of a lot of red flags. I should've left there earlier because things were getting worse.
Jennifer, in my book, people should only quit their job, if they REALLY have to. The best way ever, in my book, to stop toxism ever in any workplace, is to have everyone do a Sgt Weston of Lads Army, in the form of everyone sticking a bucket on their head, and banging it, if they have to listen to one another, or calm down.
Change is hard - we are not just quitting a job - we are quitting a toxic environment and once we are out of it, sometimes we can look back and realize how much we loved the job and the people - but that we just could not figure out how to manage the issues that became barriers. sometimes a mentor to help have the conversations that need to be had will help you save the job you want.
Right..sometimes you think you're regretting it but in reality you are not. You are just seeing things in a different way because you already left but chances are, it's really the right decision.
@@Moose185 yeah if you are cool with the salary decrease. I was going to do that(went from trust accounting to payroll accounting) and wanted to go back. But I now had the knowledge of how much every realistic promotion would pay and I knew I couldn’t stay when I would make what would take 2-3 years minimum on a fast track promotion schedule in one role change.
My toxic workplace that I needed to leave from ended on a very mixed note. One of my Managers was not supportive and said 'You're making a very big mistake.' Other people have said 'Oh, you'll be back in a few months.' This didn't sway me to stay at all! It told me in a nutshell how unvalued I was. I am sticking to my guns and I can't wait to start my new role in a new company with better prospects. I am hopeful that I can prove myself and well as my previous toxic workplace that my decision was the right one and can excel.
Hi Jennifer 👋 - I quit a job for a record store 30 years ago because it paid poorly & was open 9AM til 11PM. I loved & missed selling music so I took a job with a competitor that was open 11AM To 9PM paid the same & I started later & left earlier. Looking back , I did the right thing 😃. See Ya 👍
Thank you so much for this video, I’m conflicted with this decision right now. It’s only been 2 weeks but I’m having doubts and thinking about going back to my old job. The managing culture in this new team is quite strict. They have micromanaging in place
I regret leaving certain things but this work at the same time was making me miserable. I feel so heartbroken tho, I feel like im rejecting something big :(((
I'm trying to figure out what to do. I am on day 4. I feel completely alone. My manager has no time for me. I've basically been left off in teams land to find resources to train myself. I really regret quitting my previous job.
I appreciate you for sharing, I’m in my mid twenties. I am planning to go back to a job. Yes the hours are full time, it’s worth it. It goes at my pace and that is why I am choosing this position over another 💕
I had a great job, amazing team, great environment. I was genuinely happy. Only thing is, working hours were very long, salary was low- physically it was very hard to do. But I loved it. I got an offer elsewhere, less hours and better salary- got promoted within 5 months, however the place is so toxic. I’m very unhappy, don’t like my job, don’t enjoy what I do. I wish I had never quit my previous job
Appreciate all your videos Jennifer, truly opened my eyes to toxic jobs. Boss making promises of promotions etc. just to make you feel good but not really happening in the near future.😌 Together with her favorite, they backstab others (left me wondering if they do the same to me, more likely yesss!!! 🤨). Worst they're all "busy" and just showing up when they need something done.🤔 When I quit (definitely quitting soon) , will not regret it for sure 🙏.
It took me 15 years to quit one job and it was the best decision I ever made as far as leaving a job. The last 10 years have been a roller coaster but that first job I am glad I left.
I quit my job because i found a new job. Then 1 week before i was about to it to leave my old job my new job called and said that they don’t have work at the moment and i have to wait a few weeks before i can start. I told them i’m going to look for another job because i can’t afford to not be employed.... Now i’ve quit my job for almost 3 weeks and i’m jobless and i can’t find another job that wants me. 😂 Now i’m thinking about going back hut MYYY PRIDE 😅😭 Karma I guess?
I just quit my cashier job, my official last shift is this Saturday. I’ve decided to work at a plant nursery until new year to get a change of environment and to work on my own stuff like my book and photography. If by new year it’s not working out I’m going to go back to my cashier job with potentially the plant nursery on the side. My cashier job pays very very well for what it is, the plant nursery will pay me less but I need some flexibility for a while. I have 9 months to figure it out. I just want to add that me and my manager are 100% okay with each other it’s more of a company issue at this time, I have expressed an interest in coming back as a seasonal worker and told my manager I might come back in new year, my cashier job is across the road from my house so that’s the biggest benefit. It’s still on the books as a possibility as the plant nursery is certainly not forever but a temporary solution.
Thanks for reminding me of the whole list for the pressure of everything I need to reestablish. 😬 No regrets yet. Just normal on-boarding nerves. It takes a lot to shake me free of a job to start looking.
i quit my job earlier this month. I realized that it was not the right thing to do and was an impulsive decision.I left the company on a very good note. Its embarrassing to ask my manager to take me back. what should i do in this case?
I wasn't able to return because of the policy. I instantly lost my 20yrs of built up seniority, and you can't get it back... I miss all my coworkers and the daily routes I drove. I'm so unhappy now,.. and suffering with depression. The regret and guilt is overwhelming. ( i was given wrong information, and I reacted wrongly, I should have researched, instead of believing what I was told ).. 😢
I quit my job which wasn’t for a valid reason so me and my girlfriend worked at the same place and we would talk about quitting this job long story short that day came and we were already a little bit late for work and decided to quit we both quite and I felt relaxed for a bit but then started regretting leaving that job now I found a different job in the theme park industry but regret leaving and just been alone figuring wether I should go back or stick to this new one
For me, I can go back if they let me because the reason I quit it’s not about the job it’s about me moving to another city but I just miss home and I came back home and my boss who is the dentist is still kind. And ven asked me if I can go to work part time for two days. But accidentally that day I didn’t go to my hometown yet.
I want to quit. I don't have anything line up yet. What do you think of getting a temporary job such as McDonalds/ Grocery store/ gas station ect while searching for something else?
I see no issue getting a gap job to keep paychecks coming in. Right now they're ready to find and pay better than they typically would too. Make sure it gives the and flexibility for your job search. Most will omit from their resume but will disclose it in an interview if it comes up.
I hope you feel differently after you give your perspective more time. It's usually easier to feel that way in the beginning. Give yourself time to bounce back and prosper....I'll bet you pull it off brilliantly!
Same . It was toxic with so much hours. However I loved it. I got burned out and depressed . Tried taking time off and couldn't and I just quit. Been 1 year I'm 7months in current job and I hate it. But I tell myself this too shall pass. I got more into depression but I'm fighting it.
@@timcook4552 life took a huge turn around. Glade I kept pushing through it. Now I work everyday and alot more hours. But learning something new everyday. And even though I do alot of hours and work everyday It seems like I'm more present with wife and kids. I practiced being more grateful and present . Not worry about the future but enjoy each day and moment. And it's been working.
if i get a new job just 2 months before and i get a new offer with better salary and perks should i leave first or stick bcoz job hopping is considered bad thing ?
Have you ever a quit a job and regretted it? What did you do?
No, I haven't regretted quitting jobs. But I regret staying on the job in my early career regardless of a lot of red flags. I should've left there earlier because things were getting worse.
Never all the jobs I have had been via employment agencies at different companies so no regrets as these were short term contracts

Went to another store
I’m in that position right now. Only been here for a week and It’s not what was described to me in the interview process.

I boomeranged once and let me tell you. Don't. Do. This.
If you're leaving a company, it means that you've had your reasons.
Right..sometimes you think you're regretting it but in reality you are not. You are just seeing things in a different way because you already left but chances are, it's really the right decision.
How about if you just moved role in the same company, is it ok to go back to old role?

if we quit a job when we have an opportunity thats called switching.
