- Today we docked at Tauranga, where I got the enjoy the ship yard in action (anyone else love this type of stuff?). It was a rather windy day but we enjoyed walking around the town and main shopping street. In the afternoon we had a spa and relaxed in the sun and enjoyed a drink on the magic carpet before a stunning departure from this cute little town.
** I am an Aussie wife, mum of 2 humans and 2 dogs, living life with Fibromyalgia. I'm also a Vegan, Minimalist, Traveller, RUclipsr and Disney lover. We are currently downsizing and selling our home to move into a new apartment.

Kiwi here, the port you arrive in is Mount Maunganui (my daughter's hometown), which is a separate township. Tauranga city itself is over the bridge and is New Zealand's 5th largest city.
The Port of Tauranga has grown so big (it is one of NZ's main export ports) that it encompasses both sides of the bridge, so now cruise ships are hosted at The Mount.
Yes, you are right. I did know that 🙂. The cruise line refers to it as Tauranga. Thanks for the info for others watching the video.

It’s so beautiful! The beach was especially gorgeous. I want to go to New Zealand very badly. My biological father was born there as his mother and other relatives were from New Zealand so I have felt a draw there for decades. ❤
NZ is just stunning. So much beauty. Hope you get to visit one day. We are so lucky that's it's so close to home, esp with everywhere else in the world being so far from Australia !!

the spa"s look cool
It was a little odd the spa not being on the pool deck and it did time us a bit of time to find it (you use stairs to get to the top deck) but you did have an awesome view from it - which I guess it's why it's done this way.
