Looks like a relaxing trip. Those tug boats are interesting to watch. The buildings are art deco because they were rebuilt after big earthquake in 1931.
Another beautiful town! The Vendula bags are adorable. So enjoying the views you are sharing of New Zealand! Thank you very much for sharing your trip! ❤
I love your purple headband. Do you remember where it’s from? Also, the sunset at the end was spectacular! The blues of the water and sky separated by the gold of the sunset took my breath away.
anticraft.com.au/collections/all/products/plain-lilac-purple-linen-do-rag-wired-head-wrap We didn't get many sunsets due to lots of clouds, but this one was lovely.
Very interesting to see information re shuttle bus. Is it free? We have no excursions booked in Napier, so shuttle bus may be the way to go if we decide to leave ship. Awaiting next port video. 😀
The shuttle bus was free with Celebrity cruises but some cruise lines do charge for them. We loved walking around Napier - if you aren't interested in the buildings you could just walk along the waterfont.
There are so many Art Deco buildings because there was a major earthquake in 1931 that destroyed most of the town. As a result, the older buildings were demolished and replaced with new ones in the prevailing architectural style, Art Deco.
Yes, I only found that out when I was checking something for this video. Makes sense though. I did think it odd that so many buildings were built at the same time.
You showed off the heritage buildings and boats well. It looks inviting
Napier was such a lovely town. Hope I get to visit again one day.
You get a good view of all that tug boat action from your cabin ;-)
Yes, I loved seeing that.

I love watching the tugboats and loading and unloading that goes on in these industrial ports. It's just fascinating to me.
Napier Bay looks so cool! Loved the buildings etc!
Napier was a lovely town. It was the only place we hadn't been to and I'm definitely keen to go back and explore some more.

Thank you for taking me on your NZ cruise 🚢 with you! Love this. ❤️
I now wish I'd gone into the store to look at the bags. They really were lovely.
