Hey kingjoffyjoe, I enjoy your videos. On the gearbox…when you change the oil, you start at operating temperature so when you fill the gearbox to the correct spec ( when it runs out the check plug hole ) you are good to go. When you pour the new oil in, it quickly comes up to operating temperature and expands, because your machine is still hot. That’s why there is nothing in the service manual regarding that point. The gears and case do not cool down very fast. No need to do anything else. Just put the plug in and ride. Have a great day my friend.
I think it's a good Idea to change this oil way before it recommends it. Oil is relatively cheap compared to gearbox problems. Im doing mine at 2500 miles.
Very informative! It would've taken me forever to figure this out. Also, when they say two years, they're probably thinking more the casual rider. Not someone who's using the Ryker as their exclusive ride.
Great videos as always, thank you for doing this! Few Question? Did you ever find that using Mobile 1 was any better than BRP oil? What oil weight did you eventually stay with, did you stay with "10-40"? Did it expand after Starting at a lower Level when filling or did it require more? Thanks again ✌
Hey boss just a tip....W on the oil bottle stands for Winter, not Weight regarding lowest rated temperatures for start up, based on the viscosity of the oil type. #technician #StreetDrsLLC
That's not actually right because you're putting in cold oil when the oil gets hot it expands so there's going to be more so you have to fill it up then you have to run it then you have to check it while it's still at running temperature

Were can i get the o rings for the bolts when i replace them or part num Thanks
Helpful video!
Shouldn't it take Synthetic gear oil SAE 75-140, instead of engine oil?
The manual calls for engine oil... Gear oil does seem like it would be what would be in there but it's not there is gear oil in the rear end though...
The engine oil is the standard recommendation. Gear oil is recommended for hot climates.
Great videos as always, thank you for doing this!

Hello. What are the dimensions of those oil drain plugs washers? Thank you :-)
No idea
how many miles is the change made
Huh
You stop when it comes out the oil level hole. Then screw in both screws!

I this a Rally?
Yes
Oil dont expand. Where in the world did someone tell you that. Dont matter if its hot, cold, luke warm, room temp.
Dude I drive a cdl lubricate truck and oil does expand especially when it gets hot u mite want to do a recheck on your info
Gears???, it's a belt
Inside Transmission, there are metal gears that make the belt go around! Can Am service manual has all the info.
You can literally see the gear from the fill hole.
