Sorry just been busy I haven’t had a chance to go online. Rebuild for 13speed roughly estimate is $3k exchange with core, for 18 is around $3800-$4k rebuild, shop location is in Brampton, Ontario Canada

Do you mean the two studs with nuts for the 18speed? Im not sure about the support brace all i know is there’s 2 studs on the transmission that sometimes bolted on the frame of the truck.
Hi. My truck is a 10 speed manual (Eaton) the gears stock was on high range (I was told that this was a minor issue) But The mechanic told me it's a big damage, they need to rebuild it for $ 3500 without labor!!!. I agreed. Then I found out, that he replaced it with another one, that one doesn't have a cooler (my transmission had one) tell me please if what the mechanic did is right/okay?. Should I accept this transmission ( the new one without the cooler)? He's working on the truck now, haven't finished yet.. I still have time... should I accept what he did or not?? Please reply 🙏
If you’re doing a 918 transmission there’s no timing on the drive gear (4300938) all you need to time is the 2 countershafts, reduction gear & splitter gear in the back box. But if it’s a 7series transmission you need to time the drive gear (4300938) to the lower gears of the 2 countershafts in the back box.

If the gears are off timing you will have problem in shifting and a noisy transmission and can damage the gears, if you’re building a transmission and the timing is off you will have a hard time putting it in place with the other gears, and if you do get the gears in with a wrong timing, once you turn the input shaft you will notice that the gears won’t turn smoothly it will feel heavy and snug.. if you put it back in the truck with a wrong timing for sure you will have to bring it back to your mechanic for transmission repair with blown out gears and who knows what else it will damage and that won’t be good 🥴

What's the difference between 18918 and 16918(which parts), is it possible to be converted?
One is 1850 torque the other one is 16k torque to convert you would have to change some few gears on the counter shafts and main shaft

When your installing the back box is the gear on the back of the main box supposed to be in time as well?

Why do the gears need timing...I'm confused?
If the gears are off timing you will have problem in shifting and a noisy transmission and can damage the gears, if you’re building a transmission and the timing is off you will have a hard time putting it in place with the other gears, and if you do get the gears in with a wrong timing, once you turn the input shaft you will notice that the gears won’t turn smoothly it will feel heavy and snug.. if you put it back in the truck with a wrong timing for sure you will have to bring it back to your mechanic for transmission repair with blown out gears and who knows what else it will damage and that won’t be good 🥴
