- Over-reliance on fanservice and nostalgia is a big problem in today's movie and TV landscape, and I think one major symptom of this problem is the massive volume of prequels we've been seeing lately. From Star Wars shows like Obi-Wan and Andor to fantasy projects like Rings of Power and the Fantastic Beasts movies, I think there are just too many of them. While prequels can be good, they come with some inherent problems that don't exist in sequels and spinoffs. Let's talk about them.
