    I noticed on my civic it made the doors heavier. You can tell by opening and closing. But they have a nice solid sound to them if you tap the outside or close the door. Quieter inside car. Thanks for the info bro!

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  4 месяца назад

      Yea that’s how sound deadening works, it literally just adds weight to the panel it’s on, which makes them less prone to vibration. My car is A LOT heavier than a normal xB now.
      And no problem man, thanks for checking it out and leaving some insight on your experience with it. I appreciate every view, so that’s much appreciated!

    nice build. I love it. my biggest concern is how do I make sure my door panel will clip back properly. can you show that process ???????

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  8 месяцев назад

      This one’s a little older so forgive the quality, but it goes into a little bit more detail on the clips specifically:
      ruclips.net/video/EF2XZK7ha8k/видео.html
      And it depends on how much deadening you use. If you went full crazy, 100% deadened, then you have to cut holes in the deadening for the clips to go into and leave enough space for the clip to go all the way.
      Adding deadening only makes things puffed out a bit, so you usually can get away with just using a lil more pressure (carefully of course, so you don’t break anything!)
      But if you only deaden 25-50% of the panel, there usually isn’t much issue getting things back together either way.
      Hope that helps!
      And thanks for the video idea! I DO plan on diving into deadening a lil more, and that’s a good part to cover.

    Dope video bro. Subscribed!
    Been looking at how to take my trucks audio up a notch. Would be interested to see how exactly you make the speaker mounts and really how you know what shape will work best? Why wouldnt you just want a fully sealed enclosure behind the door speaker itself?

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  5 месяцев назад +1

      You’re getting ahead of me! The ideal situation is as you said, an actual enclosure for the speakers, mounted in/on the doors. I’m kinda baby stepping my way towards that. Trying to maximize my results each step of the way (partially just for my own understanding).
      As far as the mounts, I actually have a video featuring those getting made. I literally just traced the stock speakers (which were speaker/mount in one), and cut out my shape with a jigsaw. Nothing fancy over here!

    Man I thought I was OCD with my sound deadening, but you just made me wanna rip my door cards off again and stick even more in there lol.
    One thing to remember though is the butyl does add weight to the car, doesnt really matter much when you just have a little bit, but if you do the whole car would be like having an extra passenger in your car 100% of the time, which will have a slight impact on fuel efficiency long term.
    Probably not something that matters much in NA though, fuel is twice as much here in the UK :D

    Good job on the sound deadening and thank you for the diy education. Now how many boxes did you use since you were deadening the interior and exterior door

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  4 месяца назад

      Thanks! Tbh I'm pretty sure I was able to do both doors and panels with about a single box...maybe 2 (of the bulk packs)...but if I'm being completely honest, I'm not entirely sure. I know in total this car has like 7-10 boxes in it now.
      Pretty sure I did all 4 doors (and panels) using 1 box last time. So maybe another half box for this additional coverage.

    • @OrlandoWarren-sk9cy
      @OrlandoWarren-sk9cy 4 месяца назад

      Okay cause I'ma bout to do my outlander sport and it's about the same size as your scion. I know the specs requires 36 sq. Ft for our vehicles

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  4 месяца назад

      Also keep in mind though, you DON’T need to do 100% coverage the way I did. That’s overkill for most people.
      Even just a single box will get you pretty far if you use it to hit the biggest areas/worst offenders first. But if it’s in the budget, it doesn’t hurt to have extra (it SUCKS being 60% thru a project but 100% through your deadening)

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  4 месяца назад

      @ssjdavid you definitely CAN for that extra extra coverage, but since the foam is mostly for road noise, it makes a bigger difference in the open areas. I just didn’t put it there because I was using what I had left somewhere it would have more impact you know?

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  4 дня назад

      It's definitely recommended, if not being replaced with something a lil more sturdy. Currently I still have it in there as a barrier for rain and whatnot, but eventually I plan on making bolt-on covers for all the openings in the door. The idea is to make the door as much of a sealed enclosure as possible.

    How did you run your tweeters.Im running a separate component set 6.5s with the tweeters.But when I unhook the factory tweeter it will not play.So how did you run your tweets

    • @DaBadNewz
      @DaBadNewz  9 месяцев назад

      That happened to me too! I wanted to hear the door speakers without the tweeters and you can't because from the factory the audio for the 6.5s actually runs through the tweeters. For now I'm still running the factory tweets in the factory location, but my 6.5s are running off the amp with some wires I ran. (that install video comes out tomorrow)
      When I get my tweets I'm gonna run my own wires from the amp to wherever they get mounted.
      To hook components up using the factory wires, I THINK you would be able to get away with grabbing your signal from the factory tweeter wires instead of the factory 6.5 wires, but I haven't actually tried that myself.

      I used fabric tape and de-foiled sound deadening for the wires and fasteners, basically the same idea.
      And yea something on the front to direct the sound waves a little better would help a lot

      he used to build comp cars
      Next question ur using that D4S amp for ur front stage correct , so it still sounds good even not being a AB amp or ?
      gracias carnall 🤜🤛

      A lot of people don’t use crossovers because they’re doing it manually themselves.
      A crossover is good if you have more than one type of speaker hooked up to the same output (like a speaker and a tweeter), so that they each get only the signal they play well with.
      People who don’t use crossovers are doing the same thing, but with the settings on the amp. They keep each output only to a certain type of speaker, and set the filters on the amp manually so that only the right frequencies go through.
      I have a video coming up where I explain all that stuff in detail.
      As far as the Class D on mids and highs, I love it! I haven’t noticed any less performance or anything like that. I think that line of thinking is kinda old school, and maybe not as much of an issue nowadays with modern technology. (But that’s just my guess).
      I’ll let you know if anything changes!! But for now, for some everyday bumpin, it’s workin just fine for me!

      Well thats what i asked him , i even have lowpass and highpass and a sub controler on my head unit

      @frankiebaugher3778 yea it really all comes down to the setup. DSP or no DSP, how many channels of amplification, individual preferences, speakers and their specs…
      At the end of the day, everybody is doing basically the same thing, but getting there in different ways.
      What your homie is describing is basically just a separate unit that does the job of setting the filters on the amp/head unit. The point where the filters are set is even called “crossover points.”
      But like I said, he does have a point that they can be helpful, because then you can have speakers and tweeters running off the same channel…but depending on what speakers and tweeters you run and how much power they need, that might not be the best way.
      I’m running mine separately so that I can control the power going to the tweeters completely separate from the mids and sub

    Sound absorption. Bare metal absorbs the sound frequencies and in effect music loss happens. Sound deadening deflection is what you need. You want sound to travel inside the vehicle instead of being absorbed into the body. Skirt!!

      that's why we go so hard with the deadening!
