5 EASY techniques for GREAT results when Spray Painting Plastic
I wach your videos and see that for you is important audio quality. I try to found some videos where is tested multipl android had units compairing by audio quality, but looks like moust people ar just interested in all gimiks and stuf whats is in softwear not audio quality. Maybe you know some beter brands where is good audio quality by RCI outlets. Or maybe sometime make some video about that.
First of all, thank you for that! I’m actually an audio engineer when I’m motivated doing youtube, so audio quality is very important, and I’m glad it shows through my content! And that’s actually a really great idea! Doing head-to-head comparisons would be really interesting. Idk if he has videos comparing multiple head units, but I know Raw-Cat has videos testing distortion from RCAs. And honestly, it seems like the ones on this unit are fairly clean, but I’m still trying to determine for myself (unofficially, just by using my ears). I really keep considering reinstalling my old pioneer. It doesn’t have as many modern features, but it does the base thing very well (serve as a source unit for my system). Sorry for the lack of a solid answer, but if I’m being completely honest, I haven’t been in the market for a head unit for a while, so I’m not as up-to-date as I should be. Thanks for watching!
Point your box towards truck with the right amount of space and it would hit louder or facing you with a wall but you need more subs or power and port facing up to have that setup work and ps please stop paying for these adds to play to keep your pockets happy go work not gonna subscribe when you’re literally putting ads that don’t need to be there. You don’t have enough subscribers to have ads yet so that’s how I know you’re paying for them just let us watch your videos and like them for what they are in the ads will come
Well yea obviously with a different setup it will hit differently, but the whole point of running it was to see how it does as-is. And about your little rant about ads: you can’t actually pay to have ads placed in your videos…that’s not how youtube works. You only need 1k subs to have ads play and to receive ad revenue, so rather than paying for them, I am being paid by having them in my videos. Don’t nobody need YOU to subscribe dude. You don’t like it, you are more than welcome to not watch. Anyway, thanks for checking it out and leaving some feedback…you came at me with a weird attitude and very confidently incorrect, but I still appreciate the view and engagement on my content, which helps youtube know that the viewers enjoyed it, and will thus push it out to more viewers. Have a great day!! Hope you get all that negativity out your heart!
bro at 4:31 thats gas monkey garage
It was really crazy seeing so many youtube builds in one place
Installed JP284 this weekend. Sounds amazing! 😎
Glad it's working for you! They really are some solid little amps
Ngl, dude got straight to the point was clear and real AND THEN gave his information to follow him. But the information was on point and fun to watch, wish I found this video 3 weeks ago cuz I started my interior n the videos I was watching did not cover some of the points he did
For some reason everyone keeps finding this video AFTER they do their projects. Hopefully you can use the info on some future projects or to inspire some new projects! And thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate when people watch my videos and take the time to leave comments, but it's honestly really helpful to hear the viewer experience. Thanks again!
Im gonna sound deaden my corolla's coors. Did you have to put the plastic cover back after you applied the reading material + foam?
It's definitely recommended, if not being replaced with something a lil more sturdy. Currently I still have it in there as a barrier for rain and whatnot, but eventually I plan on making bolt-on covers for all the openings in the door. The idea is to make the door as much of a sealed enclosure as possible. Hope that clears it up!
Thank you for trying ATOTO products! I am glad to join your project! Very professional review! Looking forward to more content from you!
Thank you for the opportunity! And I really appreciate your team being understanding of my opinions. This is a great product that just needs a bit of tweaking to be the exact type of head unit that the type of people who watch my channel would love. Thanks for checking it out, I'm looking forward to working with you guys in the future!
Turn your hot spot to 2.4g and not on the 5.0 I just got one and it didn't connect unless I was at home and would not connect when I was on the go change your hotspot setting and it will connect while your on the go
I may just not know how, but after looking around on both my phone AND the unit and trying every combination of settings I could think of...still nothing! It shows my phone's hotspot as available, but it always gives an IP configuration failure. I didn't see the specific option to switch the phone to 2.4, but even with the "maximize compatibility" setting there was no change. Oh well, we tried! Really appreciate your suggestion!
My thoughts on the S8 with the drive chat AI are the same. A useless gimic that counds cool but in practice... Meh.
Yea I have so much unused footage of me staring at this thing being confused as to wtf the point of it is...The sad part, is that the hardware actually seems pretty decent, (although I didn't do any metering or any other really objective testing). They just put the focus in the wrong spot (and then priced accordingly). Thanks for checking it out!
@@DaBadNewz it might not be important for bassheads, but your unit has a digital output (both optical and coax) that you can feed directly into a DSP for the cleanest signal possible. It is extremely important for SQ and that is why the price is high. Branded head units with digital output are 2-3x the price. It's pricy not because of the AI stuff, that is just software.
@RAW-CAt yea I noticed that, that’s actually what I mean. It’s solid hardware that’s being bogged down by it’s own software. (And that software was actually the only thing they asked me to specifically give some time to in the video). And I’m sure the optical out is better, but I’m honestly skeptical after seeing the performance of the rest of the unit. Makes me wonder if the hardware is actually good or not. Seems like it is though, and I’m keeping it installed for now…but it’s definitely something I’m actively trying to like
@@DaBadNewz hehe, they asked me to talk about AI as well, rhey really push it 😂 I have distortion measurements of the S8 ultra on my channel if you are interested how the hardware performs 😉 yours will measure the same as the internals will be the same for sure.
My bad I didn’t see this one, I’ll definitely have to check that out, as I have suspicions!
first video, nice pacing and good vid!
Thanks for checking it out man! And big thanks for the feedback!
damn, for 500+ bucks there are so many better options
Yea that was the nail in the coffin for me. At that price, it really needs to be a little smoother.
@DaBadNewz definitely! I clicked on the link after watching the whole review you did, and I 100% expected it to have a $149.99 price tag. When I saw the price, my mind immediately went to getting a Kenwood, pioneer, or alpine with apple car play, android auto and all the other bells and whistles along with a very reputable brand name and great sound quality.
@Jason_Voorhees. Bro that was my experience too! I didn’t even know how much it was until I had had it like a week…then I was just disappointed. It’s honestly not a bad deck! Just needs more focus on the standard head unit features with only a sprinkle of fancy instead of the other way around
I gotta say, the video editing here is top notch. 👍
I appreciate that man! I’m always striving to improve, so that feedback means a lot
The lighting is good. Camera angles good, sound is good. It's a professional looking video. You even know when to fast forward through the tedious stuff. Most people don't. Lol
@JasonWW2000 thanks man! I try!!
Like the videos I'd like to sends pics of my builds i have going i have 3 atm 2016 ram,2007 charger R/T, 2008 charger SXT i have n addiction with cars and systems there expensive hard to do 1 let alone 3 i buy things as i find deals for what i need or a future build or upgrade i want to start a channel have all the content just need a catchy name for it all i own is Mopars i buy orhe vehicle's to flip for extra $$$$ put little bit of bump, rims, tint some leds and a tune up i even do like pay here buy here just get everything notarized and a lean on the title proof of insurance gotta be legal ounce yours u can do what ever so do you think rhat woul be good content flipping and my personal cars??? Like some thoughts especially since you have a channel not doing it for $$$$ doing as hobby something i love to do work on things and rattle windows 😂
Honestly man, if you enjoy it, and you're not really trippin about the money, DO IT. Start yesterday! Even if you wanna do it for a check, that's fine too, but ESPECIALLY if you just love the game and wanna share your passion with the world. And specifically in regards to the flipping content, you should DEFINITELY be doing that. Not only does that kind of content pop off really good, it's also just a really solid hustle to teach people. That experience is valuable man!
Thanks for the real review I got a Linkswell 4gen T style in my 4th gen ram I like it so far but upgrading to the 6th gen wireless Android the 4th gen has to be hooked to your charger so wireless is way better these are expensive im paying around $1,500 after removal and install I can do it my self but if anything breaks it on the Installer it's like having a badass tablet in your dash oh and the 6th gen has a way better dsp and the 4th gen says it has 6 volt rca out puts im barley getting 1--2 volts max at 3/4-full volume I would save and get the 4th gen mine will be for sale it will come with everything GPS mic 🎤 all the ports it has alot 4 USB plus for your front camera recorder sold separately new around $1,000 bucks mine less than a yr say 10 month $650 if you live In ohio Akron-Canton area you know what to do and I have audio as well sundown zv6 12 d1 skar rp4500.1 custom sub box was $1,200 alone
No problem at all man! I don't want my videos to be anything but real! And yea I feel like at those higher price points, (hopefully) they would work out the bugs. This one was pretty decently featured...just kinda misplaced priorities. I don't hate it though! It could probably be fixed by a firmware update.
When looking at rca output voltage you need to know if they mean peak to peak voltage or rms voltage. They might have said 6v Pk-Pk which is the same as 2.1v rms. So these companies can be deceptive sometimes.
I looked at the linkswell, fourth and sixth Gen. They showed 4v and 5v rca. I didn't see one that said 6v. If it was one the sub channel they may have it's volume turned down. Some headunit manufacturers require the sub output level to be turned up all the way to get the rated rca output voltage. Using an oscope is the best way to measure it, so you can see the highest rms voltage before the signal starts to clip.
That’s a good one to know! And definitely seems like some shit a company would try to pull to fluff the numbers
Thanks for clarifying! Solid info
Watch this one here he is using 8 ohm to 4 ohm to 2 ohm bridge but i don't know about the gain or dsp
His amp is 2 ohm stable when bridged though...is yours? Unless you're using the same setup, I'm not really sure how his setup pertains to yours. And if you just mean you don't know where to set the gain at, you should check out this video: ruclips.net/video/N5f4eAnnvl4/видео.html
All my speakers is 4 ohm but since I'm using 4 midrange speakers wire them to series/parallel back to 4 ohm I want to know the best way to don't burn my amp out,, do u know if I have to gain the volt is 34.6? 600×2 = rms 1200 and the volt come the 34.6 that is going to be louddeeerrr , that is why I trying to find out the best way to get burn
@mugsybonze968 tbh it’s kinda hard to understand what you’re asking. Are you bridging them (using both channels for a single output), or are you running them on 2 channels?
I'm using prv 2 channel amp rms 600x2 =1200.2 2 ohm come to volt 34.6 and bridge is 1x1200 come to volt 34.6, the partner amp is 4 channel amp apocalypse aab-500.4 and bridge rms is 1000 at 2 ohm so that is what he using 2 ohm
@mugsybonze968 ok but are you bridging all 4 speakers, or are you running 2 per channel?
If you have a DSP and get the unit with the optical output they are not bad as a source... for the money. I don't think the RCA outs are the cleanest.
This one honestly wasn’t too bad as just a straight up playback unit for CarPlay or a USB drive. (That’s the only thing keeping it installed right now!) And you reminded me of something I forgot to cover! This one actually HAS optical out! And HDMI, but unfortunately neither of those features got tested in time. Definitely something worth checking out in the future though.
Bridge amplifier is double the power for bass that how amp burn out or fire. but for midrange speaker i will like to know
If the amp burned out when you tried to bridge it, that would be because of a mismatch ohm load, or possibly a power issue. Most of the time if the power is bridged the ohm load is double (so if it’s a 2 ohm stable amp, when you bridge it, it would be stable for 4 ohms). It doesn’t really matter if it’s bass or midrange, what matter is the ohm load being placed on the channels. Hope that helps!
Yooooooo been a minute. Love your vids man. You have a radio voice lol lol.
Thanks man!! You know, I’ve heard that a lot over the years, I should try and do something with that. Thanks for checking out the video man!
U know what u doing men u good can u see i text to u help
Thanks man I try! And yea I’m happy to answer any questions I can
I see u using your item from head unit dsp amp, can I ask u something First time using 2 channel amp 1200.2 2 ohm volt 34.6, and bridge is 1x1200 volt 34.6 but i'm using bridge for 4 midrange speakers rms 300 series/parallel back to 4 ohm, my head unit volume is 50 max with no distortion with smd dd1 clarion eqs755 and dsp, i don't want to burn my amp out which is the best way don't gain leave as off and say with dsp or vice versa, do u know which best before don't using dsp or amp?
My bad I’m not 100% sure I understand the question, Are you asking which goes first? Signal goes from head unit, to DSP, to amp, to speakers. As far as burning out the amp, if it can handle 2 ohms, but it’s only seeing a 4 ohm load from all the speakers, there shouldn’t be an issue. (IF I understood your question, but I’m happy to clarify)
My amp is 2 channel amp rms 600x2=rms 1200.2 2 ohm and for bridge is rms 1x1200, so I'm using 4 midrange speakers rms 300 ×4 = rms1200w while I'm using series/parallel back to 4 ohm, so I'm using bridge with 4 midrange speakers, which is the best way without burning my amp ?
@ it sounds like you got it hooked up the ideal way already as long as you have a 4 ohm total load at the amp.
AI sucks.
Yea it’s pretty bad! I was really expecting/hoping for better
Glad you are doing well, happy to see a new video. ask you a question you can ignore, post is for engagement algorithm ;) Ever see any 1980s MR2s about at bass meets? They seem like an interesting challenge to get some powerful bass into; hope to have one to make a project out of one day. One crazy custom box that uses the airspace between the seats and behind them with the largest sub that can be angled into that space in whatever direction works ... I daydream about this stuff; I thought maybe a 15" CompQ with ingenuity could fit and get just enough air space. I think I remember an article back in the day where they mounted the sub in the front trunk space and ran a tube to the cabin to hear the bass. take care and stay blessed brother
also, respect the game; and you tried to show them respect in the process while still respecting yourself and the audience ;)
I personally have never seen or even heard of an MR2 bass build, but I’m like you in that I would love to see it just for the novelty! I love weird shit like that! That would be a fun project. Thanks for stopping by again!
In the January 1998 edition of Car Audio and Electronics they showed a build done on an 80's Pontiac Fiero, has about as much space as the MR2. How they fit anything into it I'll never know.
@zakuraayame5091 there was actually a part that I cut out where I was specifically saying that I would like to work with them again in the future to maybe help them get their priorities in line. Not a bad product, just over reliant on BS features while kinda under delivering on the main ones
@DustmanDiagnostics damn that’s impressive! Probably even less space than an MR2! Would love to dig through some old Car Audio magazines
Hi, do I need to sand if the vinyl/plastic surface has leather texture?
That kind of depends on what you mean. The little covers that go behind my door handles (that I painted in this video) has a texture to it, if you mean like those, then yes I would still recommend sanding, but do so with a sponge or something that will keep even pressure, and don't sand very aggressively if you want it to keep the texture, (mine is definitely not as textured as it was before I painted it). BUT, if you mean like an actual soft type vinyl/leather, then I would honestly not know if spray painting is the best bet in the first place. Hope that answers your question, if not, I'd be happy to clarify!
@DaBadNewz Thanks for your very details explained.
@townnet no problem, happy to help!
I would sound tape the inside of the baffle n use both on 1
They’re honestly not worth all that for me, and that wasn’t really the point of the test. Instead I just got new speakers
I will be using this method to tune my 4 channel tomorrow. Can you use the same method to tune a bass sub?
Absolutely! Process is basically the exact same. You will use a different test frequency (usually 40Hz), and need to set the filters accordingly, but at the end of the day it’s the same process.
@ could you verify my math then? I have a JP 23. Thats 2300 watts rms for 2 channels. Rms per channel would be 1150, with 4 ohm subs thats 4600. The square root of that is 67.82. Correct?
Why 2 channels? Isn’t that a mono amp (One channel)? If you mean 2 subs, you want to just look at them as one output for the sake of keeping it simple.
Good looking out My G I'm a newbie to this but you made easy and clear you need to be boss with the corridod my nigga
No problem at all man, happy to help! Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment man
Ive got a single 18 build as well, and am wondering how much port area ypu used ?
Port is 15x5 and 21” deep. If I’m being completely honest, I forget exactly how I determined to make it those measurements, but I know I was aiming for a tuning of 30Hz. (I think I landed somewhere in the mid/upper 30s). Btw, the box went through surgery after this video and I ended up extending the port outside of the box (while also cutting it down on the inside to keep the dimensions the same).
@DaBadNewz If you ever build another box, I'd go atleast 15x6 for roughly 95in² of port. No hate though, just my personal opinion. Love the build though. Thanks for teaching me how to do my doors.
@AndrewHord-xj5ze thanks for the input! I’m always down to talk bass builds man, I like the different perspectives. I WILL be changing up the build, but with a whole new box and different subs…but that’s still in the design phase. Thanks man!
First video here (after i paint mine) 😂 But let me tell u brother i was watching the video with my daughter and we like it, i like u (no homo) u look humble and simple guy and i like that. Many blessings to you and keep doing the good work! 🫡 NICE VIDEO BROTHER!!!
Why does everyone keep finding this video AFTER their project? But thanks man! I honestly appreciate that feedback. I like to think of myself as a pretty simple guy! Thanks for the well wishes! Hope you check out some more videos in the future!
Hey bro, thank you so much! I’m curious to understand the proper way to spray paint and things that I should know, thank you for the knowledge!
No problem man, happy to help! If you want some more detailed info, you should check out the full version of this video: ruclips.net/video/cM03MNyciL8/видео.html Good luck on your paint project!
I always thought the studio philes were awesome . Cool footage on the meets. Thanks for sharing 👍

life saver dawg, going to paint my 350z interior soon. much love!
I support it! Thanks for checking out the video man, and good luck on your project!
Sweet another good video.
Hope you found it useful, thanks for checking it out!
This make me want a midnight club reboot
I would play that!
😂😂😂 for real though
I wish i watched this first before i started my project. It came out nice but its already samaged and pieces have chipped. I didnt sand it nor apply primer
You don’t NEED primer (but definitely helps). But sanding off the coating?? MUST DO. That’s why you get the chipping and flaking. Not too late to try again! Just sand off the paint you did AND the coating and you’re back in the game. Good luck on your project!
9:20 name of the lithium battery?
Oooh that’s a good one! I’m gonna have to check the footage and see if he mentioned it. I’ll get back to you a lil later today about that
Wow! Dope footage of the rollout man!! That Lambo in the end dropped to precision...jeeezzz. That bright orange under that black truck!! Sick footage mangg
Thanks man! And yea it was some crazy cars man! Some of them could have been a whole video by themselves with all the details
why you didnt use a power distribution block?
Didn’t really need it at the time. Both power wires come straight from the battery and there’s no other accessories for now, but I DO plan on using one in the future when I move my battery to the back
Threads community shows out. Great vid man!
Oh yea it does! Thanks for checking it out man! Just fyi, I have better examples of what I was talking about in some of the "bass meet" videos. This one was really a experimental format for the channel.
@@DaBadNewz gotchu man I will check it out for sure!
Bro is just a chill guy
I'm glad it shows through the videos. Thanks for checking it out! I appreciate you taking the time to comment too.
Cool!🥰
Thanks! X10 up next!
In 6.13 can see two plastic cups in midle of doors. Take off them, conect window swich and lower window until see two 10mm socket bolts. Unscrue thous and take out window. Then remowe all plastic with window motor and mechanism all together and dont scare of broking something. Sorry for my grammer.
Yea that probably would have been smarter than just holding it up the way we did. Thanks for the input! And thanks for checking out the video!

@@DaBadNewz yes sir great videos you have done.
@Nissanalltheway I appreciate that!
Did you use adhesion promoter .. before painting..?
I did not! I’ve actually never used it before, but I want to try it. These pieces have been painted a couple years now and the paint has been holding up really well.
I think the sound was when he started the car after putting the extra wire, it was the alternator winding up faster to charge and make for time the battery was discharging for the days it was unplugged from the car. Also I do remember if I'm not mistaken that you're supposed to fully charge the battery or batteries (For those of you with multi-battery/ultracap or single battery/ultrcap systems) after you have done the big 3 or big 4 upgrade so you won't prematurely damage your alternator. (<- This step is if you are also putting a brand new high output alternator for the first time along with the big 3 or big 4 upgrade or if for some reason your car battery/ultracap has been unplugged from your car for more than a day or so).
Very possible! Although it didn’t really sound faster, I wouldn’t doubt that had something to do with it. And thanks for adding some value information to the conversation! Really appreciate people filling in my blanks or making corrections where appropriate. We all learn, we all benefit!
Awesome job at explaining and showing more than the average sd video
Thanks man! I’m really trying to put out good information in high quality format, so I appreciate that feedback!
can do 400 grit then 1000 grit?
In which step? When you initially rough it up? If so, yea that’s totally fine. You just want it to have all the wax removed and leave a surface the primer can “grab.” Hope that answers your question, if not, I’m happy to clarify!
@@DaBadNewz yes 1st step to prepping likre scuffing the clear coat out with 400 then primer then so on should i hit it with 1000 grit for the finishing? or just gloss black then clear coat and done
@@Luui2x Oh my bad I misunderstood. You don't really NEED to sand between coats, but if you want that extra extra smooth look, it can help. I didn't with the interior parts, but for my sub box, I wet sanded between coats just to make sure everything was as smooth as possible. (Just keep a bucket of water, dip your sand paper in it, and lightly hit the primer JUST to smooth it out). Not super required, but it IS that extra step to get the extra results. God luck!
@@DaBadNewz okay thank you
