- A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 2010 American slasher film, directed by Samuel Bayer and written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer as a remake of Wes Craven's 1984 film of the same name, which revolves around a group of teenagers who are being stalked in their dreams by an enigmatic man named Freddy Krueger.
Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes produced the remake, as an intention to reboot the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, with the cast of Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker and Kellan Lutz. This production makes it the ninth installment of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
This rant is more entertaining than the entire movie. Absolutely hilarious.

Rooney Mara was purposely sleepwalking through this remake. She admitted she didn't give a fucking shit about doing this movie and it showed.
She had more chemistry in other movies like Side Effects, Pan, The Social network, Her and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Carol than she does her. She's beautiful though.
I did like her in GWTDT. that time it was a remake she actually tried to act her best for and it showed
Vicente Guerrero Same here. She was a badass but she was also a character I felt sorry for. Her acting has gotten a lot better since that film.
This piece of shit movie shouldn’t even been made here in simple. I like Jackie Earle Haley I seen him in a lot of the movies a couple I own he was good watchmen. I know the movie he was in. He was really young but this movie is oh I’m glad I didn’t watched all of this. I just learned it and didn’t even watch the rest. I just seen so many reviews of this movie is garbage even my tattoo guy a waste of his time seen this in the theater

I'm not too fond on the whole 'making Freddy a child molester' thing either, mainly because it's borrowing from the original script Wes Craven did for the original before changing it so Freddy was a child-murderer instead, and also...Jackie Earl Haley just looked stupid.

Not sure which is the worst. The Hitcher remake and The Fog remake are up there.
Oh yeah, The Hitcher remake! That wasn't very good but the original was pretty awesome, probably my favorite(Blade Runner was great too!) Rutger Hauer performance. Scream Factory needs to release that one and also The Blob '88 but I think Twilight Times owns that.

You know, I know you're not a fan of The Dream Child, I always enjoyed the film, I did grow up with that and parts 1 & 3. However, Dream Child had a lot of imagination, you have the motorcycle death which I find to be one of the most brutal in the series, the comic book death, and an overall serious and gothic atmosphere which I think Hopkins executed well. As for the remake, absolutely a piece of shit, I remember seeing it and getting infuriated over how they just ripped off of the original and its sequels.

Yeah I heard, and it's pointless. Most remakes nowadays are crappy...from the last Elm Street remake, to remake of the Fog/Halloween/Poltergeist/Robocop/Red Dawn and more. Zero hope and zero interest for it. I knew the Elm Street remake would suck, and I was right. This next one will suck as well.

They tried doing the same thing here that the studio did with Friday and Chainsaw they tried to make Freddy a modern cinema more realistic killer just like they did with humanizing Jason and Leatherface when they gave him a skin problem in the TCM remake.

I'm gonna be completely honest, when I watched this movie I loved it and thought it was the best, but rewatching it and listening to all the negative reviews of this remake and it's my 2nd least FAVORITE.

true about Uwe Boll he is not near as bad as people make him out to be. while this movie was not great I liked it because everyone not named Rooney Mara tried to act. Kyle Gallner aka Quinton, Katie Cassidy aka Chris, and Thomas Dekker aka Jesse all did a good job with a film that had alot of scenes edited out

I saw this crap on HBO back in May of 2011 and I don't remember a single thing from this movie and for a good damn reason. I personally think the Rob Zombie Halloween movies and House of Wax remake are far worse though.
i wish i can destroy the existence to this movie ever being made it was a disgrace to the franchise.

I wasn't expecting much from this movie but I was expecting it to be at least halfway decent or so so bad it's good but it was exactly what you say a piece of shit a pile of trash waste of money if you see it in theaters and I would rather watch the original or 2,3,4 but thats just my opinion.
