I love my Redmax9000 and I have never had problems with my it starting and I live in Oregon where it gets freezing nowadays.i prefer it over my 9010 but that’s my opinion. But if you have the Echo 9010… is it worth the upgrade probably not… it’s like switching to the new iPhone every year its not worth it.
Thank you so much for this review. I have the shindaiwa Eb 910 version of the echo. I absolutely love mine. I wasn’t planning to buy the Redmax good to know
I'm glad to hear that! waiting for Husqvarna to come up with their version. Although they say they are the same they both use different carburetor on their equipment. I might try husky next season. 👍
My Red Max 9000 starts up well, but it runs terribly, it hesitates and sometimes stalls or almost stalls. It’s comfortable, powerful, and fuel efficient. Shop can’t diagnose any running problems, I brought it back twice. Very disappointed.

Sthil when they release a larger blower over the 800 series will more than likely surpass the other manufacturers. Sthil is investing so much in electric that's not a really good thing really. 2025 is showing electric equipment already. It's pricey gear for sure. They need investing more in the gas powered equipment, especially in the backpack blowers.
You are flat wrong on the RM9000 tube. It is much wider than the 9010's It is also far nice to swing around than the clumsy and heavy Echo's are. Stronger to boot.
I am the head greenskeeper for Pinehurst (all courses) and can tell you, out of all blowers my guys run, the Redmax 7500s, 8560s, and the new series 9000s give more issues and are more difficult to maintain than all other blowers combined. Next in line would be the Stihl BR 600s, 700s, and 800s. The BR800X (sidestart) is a bad choice. Lacks the power you would expect from a high end blower, and with the price, I would deter anyone from considering. (912 CFM) at $700. Echo is by far the better choice for any professional, I'll explain in detail why I'm not a fan of Redmax, and how they purposely twist their facts to their advantage, using dishonest tactics on their customers. Redmax boasts 1516 CFM, they don't tell you that is measured at the housing. The actual CFM is 1246. Which the PB8010 measures at 1010, while the 9010 comes in slightly higher at 1211. That is a lackluster 35 Pipe CFM difference between the 2. The newton's are considerably in redmax favor, coming in at 54, while the 9010 produces 48. Despite the claims, the redmax burns more fuel per hour than the echo. (7700 / 7500) They boast longer run times due to a larger fuel capacity, but fail to give what they have compared.. Redmax has a 91.3 oz fuel capacity, while the echo has an 83.8 oz fuel capacity. Redmax boasts a larger tank but the only thing you will notice immediately is more weight on your back and less operation time from fill to e. Echo wins here. Next, the MPH. Echo has 220 MPH while Redmax has 216. Echo wins here. Nozzle size, 3.5 echo, 3.6 Redmax. @@Johnny-dw6un I did like the redmax. Don't get me wrong! But the starting thing got on my nerves, The primer bulb was weak took forever to retract especially when they say must be pushed 10 times.
