I have two echo cs 7310-P saws and I love them. I keep a 24" bar on one and a 28" bar on the other. I just took down a massive oak last weekend and the trunk was 38" at the base. My ECHO is eating right trough the toughest part of the trunk now. I have ran ECHO saws for over 30 years and so prefer them to the Stihl saws. I do not have any Husky dealers even close to me and have never ran a Husky. I do 60-70 full cords every year and all with my ECHO saws. I loved the video and really appreciate you and your channel.
Thanks again for showing the 7310. The saw definitely was getting better with each cut. It's going to be a really nice saw after a few tanks. Thanks guys.
5 year warranty too! I have been running Echo' since 2013 and the collection keeps growing...they all still run great. I have been eying that saw for the past 2yrs and it's almost time!
First impressions...About what I expected and have seen with other Echo models. Does the job but very mild out of the box. Rich carb settings from the factory and over goverment regulated exhaust. I can't wait for it to get broken in, rings set, and opened up some so it can breath/flow so we can all see what it is really capable of doing! Nice saw, and having a few extra moldy Benjamins left in the wallet is always a good thing!👍
Yes! break in, open the muffler, pull the limiter caps, and it is an ok saw, base gasket delete and they get a bit better at least the couple small ones I have.
@@InTheWoodyard I still have a couple stihls but the echos start easily and stay running if you set them down I don’t have to adjust the carburetor every time I use them
Echo was the industry standard for emissions that all saw manufacturers had to comply with in the early 2000s they are tough saws. I bought my first Echo saw in 2004 it still runs great and has never been touched, still factory original. New bar and chains that’s it. Adam you’re going to love it. Keep on cutting 😎
Great video ! It's cool to see Echo on your channel . Using my own Echo cs7310p I can confirm that this saw gets more powerful after several tanks of fuel , maybe 5-7 tanks . I hope you guys like this saw as much as I do .

hi Chris, just a little tip on the saw, there is a winter mode on it. if open up the engine cover there should be a white tab and with that tab you can flip it into either summer or winter
Echo makes some durable tank like saws! And it’s a non-stratocharged no electronic type old school saw. Has D009 Husky bar mount, and excellent filtration. It’s going to take like 10 tanks to break in, tune afterwards and will run great.

Uh oh, thems *fighting* words!! I have an Echo and it's a nice saw. I've had McCoughlics and Remingtons and many others. Put a sharp chain on any of the top brands and they cut great. Never understood the holy wars over brands.

I have had the echo 7310 for 3 years and I like the saw however I have found out it is heavier and doesn't have the high end rpm as other saws in the same class ie the jonsered 2171 or husky 372. Just my 2 cents.
Well from what I understand, the oe 372xp/jred 2171 could rev very high because of the mass of the piston, that's partly why the xtorqs don't rev as high but have better low end power, because most pro saws are now strato and typically require the piston to have more mass for the extra channels for the ports. Now I know the echo isn't a strato saw but it does have a big piston in it. I hear people describe it's power likening it to an xtorq. But I've never touched any of those saws unfortunately so I could be completely wrong 😂
Chris...Curious to see how it does with Bert's grind on the chain. I know it made a tremendous difference when he compared his grind versus stock. Wait until you see how clean the air filter stays! Let her rip. Only saw better in this size range is the Dolmar 7900! Their switch is up for choke and down for stop; and it is a momentary down that automatically returns to start position. Every saw needs that feature!

I noticed with my echos that they definitely seem dogfy until they beak on. They wake right up once they break in, though. I should note that I do not have the 7310, just the 590's
Currently have a Stihl MS250 and unfortunately have had issues getting it started. Hearing great things about Echo. 590 is similar to my 250, so trying to decide between the 620 or 7310 Echo.

I've seen a few comparisons to Stihls, They don't cut as good generally but the reason why I didn't go echo was they're quite heavy. I do have the echo arborist ts11 though which has done me well. I also have an echo chipper and love echo as a brand.
Looks like a nice saw. I like the inboard clutch and chain brake, the large clutch cover nuts, top cover 1/4 turn screws. A lot like a Stihl. Hopefully they get some form of auto tune soon (or better yet fuel injection), so you don't need to fiddle with the carburetor. Have a great day!
Not sure what but almost sounds like tight chain, sprocket nose, clutch, brake, dry rails something draggy almost stopping the chain once off the throttle not like the normal chain wind down. Needs a chance to break in and tune the carb but right now it sounds a bit doggy with no snap as Adam pointed out which is most likely low speed needle adjustment needed and 4strking on the high end. Positive note Adam's PROTOS helmet is looking good and would like his opinion review on a might spendy helmet.👍

I have sed them all and the Echo/ Shindaiwa are as good as any and better than most. Very impressive. I have a 590 Timberwolf 59ccand a 501P 49cc. I love them. It will get better when it breaks in. Nothing cuts the best when it is new. my 501 gets better every time I use it. I love the old style on-off switch and choke. It is easy to flip off with the thumb and it isn;t plastic. Your Toyota truck is the most American made truck there is. It is made in Texas.
Haven't found found a solid answer online yet, but it runs like a non strato saw. Just reminds me of older saws in the way it runs. Runs more like a 200 or gen1 300 series husqvarna saw. My opinion, but I think that echo would respond very well to port work. You get 5 gallons of fuel through it, it mite need a very miner carb adjustment. But it's definitely improving as it runs. . Basically in current production husqvarnas, the 390, 395, 3120 are the only non strato saws left being made. Strato saws are basically an emissions thing, where a portion of the air goes in the saw without fuel mix with it. Tell its in the combustion chamber. Or that's my best understanding.
OK found some info. It is amazingly non strato. With 6 port transfers. 51mm bore 36mm stroke . I believe it's the only non computer carb non strato 70cc class saw on the market new. in north America.
I have a large Husky, a Medium Echo, abd a small Stihl. I don’t know if it’s the size if the Echo or what, but I almost always reach for it. Anyway I bought it because that’s the best dealer in my hometown. Mine really did wake up after running about 10 tanks
In the early part of the video it seemed like was stalling in the low rpm range like it didn't have as much torque as the 572xp. Didn't notice it as much at the end. Do you think it got better as it broke in or did the operators just learn how to feed it a little slower? I'll definitely be in line to run it and the 592xp at HFH2024!
I'm a sthil guy myself but am also open minded. From what I can see in the video that echo saw cuts just fine. Noodles well to. I might buy one just to have one.
If you wanted to try a Mikita I have a couple of them I bought from Home Depot that were rentals. Saws looked fairly new other than the bars had been painted orange. They are 6421 basically a 65cc pro saw but those saws have the same bottom ends as a couple of their bigger saws so you can buy the top end for a 79cc saw for it if you wanted they have another in between can't remember either 71cc or 73cc. I paid $250 each for them buying one new I think is somewhere around $650. They don't make that model anymore but pretty sure they have a new version of the same saw imagine they are still renting them. The ones I have I got 4-5 years ago.
No electronic wizardy going on with the 7310 carb! But that may soon be over with, as Echo is going to come out with electronic carb management soon. It must cut much more straight than a Stihl to cut better, but not as straight as a Husqvarna.
Curious, there was a lot of bogging down, something on that size log shouldnt happen with a 73 cc saw. were theguys pressing the saw, or taking it easy on the throttle. also, curious no breakin time before full throttle? trying to learn something from this. saw looks great, sounds great, good luck with it.
Truth is, Stihl switch direction is upward, BUT it's a PULLING motion with your fingers on your right hand, AFTER you swing it around with bar facing rearward (like op manual shows for walking around with it). The Husky you have to PUSH down with your thumb. BOTH work fine, but I think pulling up with fingers is a little more ergonomic than pushing down with thumb.
Question is (thinking size-weight-performance criteria), when it comes to torquey carb saws, would you want the Echo 7310 or Husqvarna 372 or 585? (Yes, I know they're different displacements)
sounds like a electric battery saw. i wont lie, i had a echo, just wont make that mistake and have 2. thats one of the saws you loan out and hope it gets straight gassed, so you can go get a husky or stihl. that saw looks stiff, like it has no anti vibe in it. like its a repainted walmart special green paulan.
Haha Well I have a Stihl and an Echo but the echo is much smaller so hard to compare. I’ve had the homeowner echo for 10 years at least and it’s been used way more than its potential….. still starts and runs every time. Honestly it sounds like it needs to rev a bit more and a port job will make it breath better. My prediction is husky and stihl will outperform it… not by a lot but that’s my guess… but maybe the echo will last longer as it’s Japanese??
It's like comparing an AMG to a Mark 3 Zephyr yes it's been around for a long time who makes the components japanese ..ok ..what's the vibration like let's see what it feels like after 8 hours of hard work to me it looks like it could be a good farm saw
The Echo sounds slow to accelerate. It might not be a good limbing saw unless, like with a Stihl, you get paid to cut wood by the hour, not by how much you get done.
Without checking to verify Im about 95% positive they went to the husky bar pattern for this saw. Basically made a 73.5cc 372xp OE with better air filtration.
Just like you I've always been exposed too stihl saws, and is no issue with the shutdown, and I also have run a 7310 echo my brother has one, never ran a husky simply because I don't personally know anyone who owns one,one day
I have a MS462 and MS400. That echo looks to have more low end than the Stihls but the Stihls have more top end. The echo will probably open up as it breaks in.
G’morning Chris ! She rips !! Mine definitely runs more better when hot. Sounds like she isn’t fat from the factory (like mine was). Great air filter. Looks like yous had fun. GoodNightIrene
I could only find two dealers in the whole of the South Island of NZ for Echo. Maybe just stick with Stihl and Husky here for a bit longer . It runs well though. How did you find the air cleaner was for access and cleaning?
Hello, I had a big dilemma about which 70cc saw to buy. 572XP MS462 or 7310P Considering that I already had 3 Echo saws, I decided on the 7310. The Echo 7310P is the most useful and looks the best, it seems to me to be of high quality and long-lasting, this is my amateur opinion, maybe I'm wrong. The Stihl MS462 is really just as good a saw, but it was a bit more expensive, the Husqvarna 572xp I didn't like its construction, I have the feeling that it could have been made much better, I didn't like the quality of the plastic and the final construction. I am very happy with the 7310P and I think it will serve me for many years. I have a question which saw to buy 90cc MS 661 or 592XP Thanks
@@InTheWoodyard There’s both experience and wisdom in your words. The same truism applies to rifles in my opinion. Had my 572 XP screaming today and a big smile all the while I was cutting.
They're set up very very conservative from the factory. They offer a 5-year warranty. Your average homeowner will never blow that thing up within 5 years. Unless they manage to run straight gas through it which wouldn't be covered anyway 🤣
@@Mr_Clean yea. good and bad. Had they cut that squish to at least .030 it still would be very reliable but it would be way closer to power of other 70cc saws.

Yup, all good points! I myself have a Protos helmet on my list!!!!
@@InTheWoodyard I like mine just not sure it was worth 3*4 times the price.
Now you've done it. The price on these Saws is gonna sky Rocket HAHAHAHAHAHA
Ha!
when u cut the wood long ways making the ribbins. i use 4 land scape ,neighbors ask where i buy them at .??? GOOD BRO , STILL LOVE THE VIDS keep them coming ..............I KNOW i do not type to u much . because i know u r bizzzy man . be safe out there , i am back here watching . all the wood i had in DUNKIRK NY i gave away YUP .! ! ! . it went super fast evan some of the BIG .!! ones THEN I MOVED HERE IN JAMESTOWN , NY
Thanks! Awesome...keep cutting!
Very nice! Yup, they do make great stuff!
51mm bore 36mm stroke
.
I believe it's the only
non computer carb
non strato
70cc class saw on the market new. in north America.
Thanks for the info!!!!
Yup, it is a cool saw! Old school like!
I have a large Husky, a Medium Echo, abd a small Stihl. I don’t know if it’s the size if the Echo or what, but I almost always reach for it. Anyway I bought it because that’s the best dealer in my hometown. Mine really did wake up after running
about 10 tanks
Thanks for the info!
We have the CS-7310SX in europe. EXACTLY the same, BUT, we have the flip up lever caps AND they come as standard with a sugihara pro solid bar..
Wow, very nice!!!
The more we cut the better it ran.
They will be there!
I'm a sthil guy myself but am also open minded. From what I can see in the video that echo saw cuts just fine. Noodles well to. I might buy one just to have one.
Yup. Go for it!
Sounds like nice saws!
No electronic wizardy going on with the 7310 carb! But that may soon be over with, as Echo is going to come out with electronic carb management soon. It must cut much more straight than a Stihl to cut better, but not as straight as a Husqvarna.
I was actually surprised...it is a really nice saw! It cuts great!
We pushed on it to see what it would do. A new saw should just be run as you would any other saw.
Nothing cuts better than stihl. That saw needs a Bert’s sharpening. Very nice saw.
All saws cut great!!
Note the OE bar on the Echo and Husqv are same.
Thanks for the info!
Every echo I've owned has started much easier than stihl or husky. That's worth a lot to me.
Great, good to know!
@@hosocat1410 Stihl pullin
Truth is, Stihl switch direction is upward, BUT it's a PULLING motion with your fingers on your right hand, AFTER you swing it around with bar facing rearward (like op manual shows for walking around with it). The Husky you have to PUSH down with your thumb. BOTH work fine, but I think pulling up with fingers is a little more ergonomic than pushing down with thumb.
I like the thumb down.
I liked Echo when they were at a big discount to stihl and husky but now why bother. same thing as kioti versus deere and kubota
Maybe so!
Took mine about 7 tanks to fully break in. Then i adjusted carb and she is way better
Mine too.
Good!
Question is (thinking size-weight-performance criteria), when it comes to torquey carb saws, would you want the Echo 7310 or Husqvarna 372 or 585? (Yes, I know they're different displacements)
All good choices.....I like my 572 Husqvarnas about the best overall.
Nice! That saw was throwing some noods!
Yup, it is that!
The more you run it the better it gets. I have two. Needs to be open Ed up after you run it about two weeks and I promise it will rip
Nice!
I am sending my 7310 to Dyno-Joes next month. It has about 25 tanks thru it. Fingers crossed
Cool!!
Také jsem dnes objednal, tak se těším :) . Mám jen husqvarny a jednu Echo 2511 tes. Bude to myslím příjemná změna. Tak ať se vám daří :)
You are going to like it...very nice saw!!!
What did you say?
There seems to be an Echo in here.
Helloooooo.......hellooo....helloo...hello....hel......ooooowwwwww
brings memories of our past cs-341 fleet 😅😂
Nice!
sounds like a electric battery saw. i wont lie, i had a echo, just wont make that mistake and have 2. thats one of the saws you loan out and hope it gets straight gassed, so you can go get a husky or stihl. that saw looks stiff, like it has no anti vibe in it. like its a repainted walmart special green paulan.
ha! I was very impressed with it, and I am not married to any brand and have ran hundreds of different saws.
Haha
Well I have a Stihl and an Echo but the echo is much smaller so hard to compare.
Yup, those are all good points.... to me it is all splitting hairs and mine is bigger than your stuff!
It's gotten better since the first few uses.
That right there.....is funny...good one!
Without checking to verify Im about 95% positive they went to the husky bar pattern for this saw. Basically made a 73.5cc 372xp OE with better air filtration.
Yup, I have been told that by a few others too!
Just like you I've always been exposed too stihl saws, and is no issue with the shutdown, and I also have run a 7310 echo my brother has one, never ran a husky simply because I don't personally know anyone who owns one,one day
So up is off and down is on what is next dogs sleeping with cats??? Haaaaaaaa!
Nice that the saw ran better after you ran for a while.
yup!
I have a MS462 and MS400. That echo looks to have more low end than the Stihls but the Stihls have more top end. The echo will probably open up as it breaks in.
Maybe so!
Sounds like it's running a bit rich in the cut or it's not loaded down enough in the smaller wood.
Yup.It is brand new in this video.
G’morning Chris ! She rips !! Mine definitely runs more better when hot. Sounds like she isn’t fat from the factory (like mine was). Great air filter. Looks like yous had fun.
GoodNightIrene
Yes! I like it way more than I thought I would.....it IS a very nice saw!
They sure are !
I could only find two dealers in the whole of the South Island of NZ for Echo. Maybe just stick with Stihl and Husky here for a bit longer . It runs well though. How did you find the air cleaner was for access and cleaning?
Good! They all make great stuff!
Hello, I had a big dilemma about which 70cc saw to buy.
572XP MS462 or 7310P
Considering that I already had 3 Echo saws, I decided on the 7310.
I have a question which saw to buy 90cc MS 661 or 592XP
Thanks
They all are nice saws!
Great review!! Thanks for the video. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks, you too!
If I did not have so many stihl saws I might would try one of them .
An 80 cc saw should be faster. The echo cuts faster and runs better now that its broke in.
The right number of saw is.....more!
Yup!
@@InTheWoodyard There’s both experience and wisdom in your words. The same truism
applies to rifles in my opinion. Had my 572 XP screaming today and a big smile all the while I was cutting.
@@canvasman2307 Awesome!
Love that chain and how it makes those shaving long like that
Yup, rip cuts will do that!
The 7310 have same mounting holes as your 572 chris so u can put any husky bar on the 7310
That is what others have said too! Thanks!
Those take alot to break in. I have one but skipped the slow phase and got it ported before I put gas in it.
Nice!
great saws. With porting they are an animal. .065 squish so there is loads of potential there with base cut.
Most porters shoot for 0.020-0.025 squish. Base gasket delete takes care of some of that. 0.065 squish is insanely huge!
@@thefirewooddoctor yup. That is why they gain nearly 3hp with a good porting.
Thanks for the info!
Chris maybe 🤔 another reason why not to judge a product by its name like 👍 you have said before if it runs and cuts that’s what matters 😮😊❤
Yup, they all make great stuff!
Good morning dear Chris. How much for the echo cs-7310p chainsaw
Hello, I think $1000???
