The zip tie method is great Chris. After seeing you do it a couple years ago I use it with my guys on tree jobs where the people say they wanna keep the firewood if we can cut it down to length. It works great and is fast to throw a couple zip ties on a couple saws and send a couple guys cutting and when we're done eather cut them off or most of the time just leave them and eventually they break off. Great cheap ane efficient way to message the wood and keep the costumers happy.
You ARE a professional, Chris. The definition is someone who makes money doing the thing. And you come across as very competent - and professional. Good video for my breakfast, thanks!
That is just like handling square bales...averaged over 70lb square bales. 4 guys making a semi load with a bale conveyor in less than a half an hour!! I used to be able to buck up two cords in a morning and split it that afternoon/evening. Now at 73 I'm doing good to cut up a cord and three days later split it when my back allows it.
I agree it sounds like the husky is reaving more, but also I think it sounds like the husky is more snappier when you first hit the throttle. I also agree if someone think its dangerous the way you hold the log still with your foot and don't do that, than they shouldn't do it. I love that kind of cutting. I do use the tip all the time but when I get into the bigger stuff I do use the back of the bar, so its what ever anyone is comfortable with. 24 and 28 inch bars are my go to. Keep up the good work

So my question is if i leave that piece of rotten wood in the sun to dry could i still use to throw in the firepit?
Great video. If any viewers do high volume tree service work I highly recommend the HUSQ 372 over the Echo 7310. The difference becomes very apparent 3 or 4 hours into any given job whether felling, limbing, or bucking. That’s not a slight to the 7310. The HUSQ 372 is simply the Michael Jordan of chainsaws. The Echo 620, 590, and 400 are on par with their Stihl and HUSQ counterparts, however.
@@InTheWoodyardWOW! That’s awesome! I’m a little intimidated by the auto tune on the 572 you have, would love one but feel like I’d be dead in the water if I needed to work on it?
So just curious of your opinion on whether a guy really needs a 90 cc saw to run big bars. It seems like either of those 70cc saws can handle larger bars just fine. I have a 562 that I have ran a 28" bar on and it ran fine- slower than a 592 I'm sure. Is it really necessary or money well spent to have that above 70cc saw? Obviously if you are running it a lot then possibly but for the average person what are your thoughts?? Thank you for your time and GNI
Define avg guy 😉that cut a few cords a year or 10-12, 8-10" wood or 16-20" or larger. I worked with a guy this weekend doing trail work that self-described as a lot of chainsaw experience well maybe for a homeowner he did but he had difficulty keeping his chain out of the dirt.
If all you cut is 20 inch wood, doesn't matter if you run a 20 or 28 inch bar. Engine load is about the same. If you are cutting 28 inch trees, then ya, a 28 inch bar on a 60cc saw will work but a 70cc saw or 80cc or 90cc is going to work alot better. It depends how much you cut and what kind of productivity you expect.
Question, obvious you cut a LOT of wood, do you run different chain setup on frozen wood? I usually pick up a saw wearing semi chisel myself, holds edge much longer. Any thoughts?

Dont get me wrong I love it, but for the small amount of wood I cut these days, I can get a Chinese clone for less than 1/5 of the price of the same size husqvarna. Horses for courses.
Please do not buy a copy saw. It is just plain wrong in my book. Buy from a company that designs, engineers, tests and maintains there products. NOT a cheap imitation copy from China.
The newbies are going to say how u should cut apple of wood not knowing this is how you started lol also rookie sticks was put on old school trk bumpers so u won't bend em up
Guys, this man cuts firewood for a living. He has hundreds of hours behind a saw. Dont tell him what to do lol. He doesnt need your safety pointers. Hes heard it all. Hes free to do what he wants in his own dam yard. He knows the risks of his own actions. Leave him alone. He doesnt need you "experts" telling him what to do😂. Cut on chief. How do you like the balance of the 7310 vs the 572? I know the 572 is a bit lighter than the 7310, but never handled a 572.
Echo makes a decent commercial top handle saw and the rest are good for residential use. If ur gonna cut down thousands of trees a season or even a year, Shitl will be the only one that lasts and lasts. I have some that are over ten years old and cut done several to a dozen trees a day all year long. Get the MS261CM and it’s the only 18’-20’ bar chainsaw u will ever use again.
I have cut with hundreds or different saws and many brands, they all cut well. The difference between most similar size saws is features, colors, personal preference, dealerships, repairman and availability of parts... The rest is mostly a close mined he man mentality of mine is bigger, better, faster than yours because I have a different kind and I am smarter for having it than the other guy.
That's a false claim. I fall professionally, my go to saw is an echo 620pw ported by donny walker. It's built like a tank, completely reliable, and pulls a 28 all day long in Canadian hardwoods all year round. It also cuts about 70 chords a year to feed multiple wood stoves. I have 0 concerns walking into the woods with it for 10,11,12 hours at a time.
Why put the zip ties on the left side of saw if you are going to cut right to left most of the time? Seems odd to have the ties on wrong side from where you cut most of the time.
Where would you attach them? It fits there well and I still use them cutting both ways as a guide. Try it and you will see all you have to do is move the saw a little to see the next cut.
Chris(Chris), there is an Echo(there is an Echo) in this video(in this video). Your new girlfriend is pretty but doesn’t scream quite as loud as your old one. GNI
Chris only has one ex-girlfriend. She's his ex-girlfriend because he married her! Never know how the saws will behave in the barn. They might find one of them gave birth to a Stihl in the morning. Or they will end up on the barn floor after a big brawl.
Never is a very long time! I like all 3 of the major manufacturers...Husqvarna, Stihl and Echo. If there was just one the lack of competition would result in poor quality and lack of innovation.

Good morning 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Morning!
Good morning all!
Hello!
The newbies are going to say how u should cut apple of wood not knowing this is how you started lol also rookie sticks was put on old school trk bumpers so u won't bend em up
yup!
Nice sawing 👍 If you close your eyes, the sound is very close and by the looks they perform very similar.
Yes, they both cut great!
I’m red/green colorblind so I paint my stuff yellow so I can find it in the weeds. 😂
Good idea!
Thanks! They are very similar! If I was forced to have only one....either would do!
Good Morning Woodhounds!!(-:)
Runnin late this mornin... Ya'll have a Great Day Folks! Sunny, 30°F and a beautiful day to be alive!
GNI
Morning! Yup, we all get another day to play!
I love my 7310 it's a fantastic saw, and $500 less than a 500i
Yup, and that is a lot of clams!
Not a fan of throwing the logs with the saw. Good way to run one up your leg. Your legs tho 👍🏻
Ya, you probably should not do it if you do not know how to.
Ha!!!Good one Larry, I like it!
Ha! Maybe so!
Everything has a degree of danger, do they think sitting on the couch doing nothing is safe?
Yes some do. A lot of people do not know that working and getting stuff done is never 100% safe and neither is getting out of bed .
All that saw power and weight for
those branches. You're just not going to see much difference
It was fun!
@@InTheWoodyard to much power is almost enough!
572 XP IS THE BEST CHAINSAW EVER
It is a good one for sure I have 3...best??
@@InTheWoodyard if you have to use only 1 chainsaw for the rest of your live, which one would it be ??? Considering weight and everything ?
"MS"7310? How dare you 🤣
It is a saw and it cuts.
@@InTheWoodyard I think it might have been the MS being a Stihl designation.

Slow saw
It is new it will get better. But because I was actually there running both I can tell you they both cut about the same.
Husky cuts faster I'll take the husvarne any day
Okay. They both are great saws and so are Stihl saws.
I also sale a fair amount of firewood a year and i switched to echo and as far as im concerned i will NEVER own another stihl.
Never is a very long time! I like all 3 of the major manufacturers...Husqvarna, Stihl and Echo. If there was just one the lack of competition would result in poor quality and lack of innovation.
Stihl manufactures homeowner, farm and ranch and proline saws same as Husqvarna.
Never walk with a running chainsaw......especially in piles of loose rounds.
Then nothing would ever get cut and for a person making a living cutting they would starve.
You're thinking don't run with scissors easily confusing.
Great review. The echo saws that are ' Made in Japan" are awesome. I only buy saws that come from Germany, Sweden, and/or Japan. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🪵🌲
Yes, they all make great stuff!
Hello Dave 😉👍
Hello Mr. Pinkglove!!
