    I think bone loss makes people look older than any wrinkles or fine lines. A 23 year old with lots of fine lines and some wrinkles still looks younger than a 45 year old with very little or no fine lines/wrinkles. Tretinoin will only do so much.

      Yeah when you look at pictures at people in their 40s even if you dont see any wrinkles you can tell theyre not in their 20. That being said weight training and exercise as well as making sure you have enough vitamin D levels is the best thing you can do to maintain bone density.

      If it makes you feel any better, bone loss is more severe in the lower jaw after tooth loss than in the upper jaw. Most of the bone loss in either jaw occurs within the first 2 years of tooth loss and then the bone loss greatly slows down.
      If you cannot afford implants to replace each lost tooth, consult your dentist if he can give you an implant-supported partial overdenture instead. It requires less implants, the few implants act as an anchor for keeping the denture part in place and it can reduce bone loss.

    • @phyld6491

    • @Marko-ij4vy
      @Marko-ij4vy 2 года назад +4

      Weight training helps too. Helps preserve mucle mass and bone density. Even if youre a woman and dont care about muscles you should weight train because with age you loose mucle and bone density and weight training helps to combat that along with having enough vitamin d, calcium etc.

    What do you think of vitamin K2 to prevent bone loss? X

    • @RJWorrell
      @RJWorrell 2 года назад +8

      Definitely! I brought this up to a doctor and the dentist about six years ago and neither one of them ever heard of K2. They looked at me confused. The doctor began lecturing me on vitamin K and I had to correct her. I’m glad to see some are learning about it lately!

    • @patriciagiles5833
      @patriciagiles5833 2 года назад

      I believe recent research concludes that taking vit K2 in addition to your Ca plus vit D supplementation is recommended for preventing calcification of blood vessels and deposits in organs. It helps transport calcium to the bone cells. Always check with your doctor first. Vit K"1" promotes blood clotting. I don't believe Vit K"2" is prothrombic, though.

      Not with bone loss. But the firm up the muscles over the bone and under the skin, and therefore, help mitigate the damage. Totally worth it.

    I've been using the same Command hooks for many years and never had one fall or come off the wall. I have them all over my house. Maybe it is your climate. It is important to clean the wall/surface and the back of the hook with isopropyl alcohol and press the foam adhesive strip for 30 seconds. If there is any dust or oil on either surface the adhesion will not stick. I also don't use the hook for 24 hours after hanging the hook or Command product. Hope this helps. Enjoyed the video.

    Thanks for this information. I heard a long time ago that your facial bones shrink as you get older, which contributes to the look of aging, but I never knew much detail about it. At age 69, for the past six months or so I've been noticing enough shrinking of the jaw that my teeth have begun to feel crowded together--it's a very strange sensation. I'm due for a dental exam soon, so I'm curious to hear what the dentist will say about this.

    I’m curious now if strong bones are associated with looking younger? The women on my mother’s side of the family all look much younger than they are. We have a history of never breaking any bones even in pretty severe car accidents. Could just be a coincidence…I’m just hoping the genetics got passed to me too lol. But I already get mistaken for being in my twenties so I’m hoping that means I’m going to be just as lucky in my 50s and 60s… fx

      @@shelby6 Ouch, sorry for my english, maybe I didn' t spell correctly 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was trying to describe the massage + preasure with knuckles that japanese (themselves and technicians) do. They push firm but carefully not to break capillaries like a gua sha could. It also feels like heaven because it releases tensional TMJ migraines. Allegedly, if done with consistency for years, the bone drop is softer. It makes sense but, let' s be realistic,... mongolian ethnicity has crazy skull structure and muscle placement genetically 😍
