💥 *UPDATE 6.08.2022:* Amex may be approving some people for _more than_ 4-5 credit cards and _more than_ 10 charge cards. Two things that could account for the wide variety in the responses you got are (a) the knowledge and training of the reps and (b) how they interpreted your question.
It is scary to think that half of the representatives you contacted had been given the wrong information and training, but with the way things are in the world today, that is probably the more likely of the two scenarios.
It is also possible that the folks who told you unlimited understood your theoretical question correctly, and the folks who gave you the regular 4/5 and 10 answer interpreted your question to be about your specific circumstances.

So basically we don't know, amex doesn't know, and it probably all comes down to who you are. I have no doubts if you are a high profile individual or a known public corporation that rules will be suspended based on your needs. The 99 limit I believe refers to if you have a charge card (business) you can add up to 99 authorized users. If a company like amazon, walmart, etc. said we'd like 1,000 of our executives to have a card then I'm sure amex would accommodate them.

Hey Paul - totally up to you regarding closing the Blue Business Plus (BBP). It's a great card for non-category spend with no annual fee and can be a great way to keep your points active if you ever decide to cancel other cards with fees. That said, the BBP will take one of your 'Amex slots' (that is, Amex allows most people to have 4-5 total credit cards). So if you have no need for it, and want to free up the slot for another Amex credit card, you can let it go.

What if you want to switch out one card for another but take advantage of any offers? Do I have to sign up again or can I just switch one card out for another?

Hey there - Amex does allow product changes from one card to another, although there are restrictions to that based on card type and card family. Also, product changes means no welcome bonus. An exception would be a targeted 'upgrade bonus.'

Love all you videos, thanks for your efforts. I have an Amex question. Currently I have Hilton surpass, got it Dec 2019. I’m thinking of changing to aspire as I like the benefits more and I don’t usually meet the 15k spend for free night. Question is should I try to upgrade the surpass to aspire or cancel surpass and have my wife apply for aspire to get the sign up bonus? I have several other older cards but alway worry about closing accounts. Thanks

Hi Pavan! Is the Hilton Honors Surpass the only Hilton card you've opened so far?

@@pavanpancholy9727 - If you do an upgrade, you won't receive the welcome bonus. However, if you get targeted specifically for an upgrade bonus, you would receive that. That said, if the bonus isn't important to you, you could go with the upgrade route. If you do want to get the bonus, then I recommend applying for the HH Aspire 👍

Hey Mark, I got my first city card May 27th. It was the double cash card. I’m wanting to apply for the custom cash card, and wondering how long I should wait? It’s been roughly 100 days since I opened the double cash account, and I’ve made my payments on time every month (actually I pay it every week). What are your thoughts? I’m just wanting to have as many opportunities to get 5% back on different purchases as possible.

Hey Alli! You should be ok to apply now 👍 For Citi personal cards, the rules are:
      - 1/8 Rule: You can submit 1 application every 8 days in order to be considered for an approval.
      - 2/65 Rule: You can submit 2 applications every 65 days in order to be considered for an approval.

If your credit age and score is really good, consider getting something like the city premier (80000 points sub) and then product changing to the custom cash (20000 points sub) on your 13th month. They’ll refund the second annual fee.
