With Menphina's theme to back this one up, I now headcanon Keepers of the Moon as joyful forest bumpkins jamming out on fiddles. Nobody will take this from me
Trying to identify the leitmotif at 0:25 has been driving me crazy since I first heard this song. Someone down below said it could be from Diadem, but as I'd never played Diadem, I knew this couldn't be the case, as the song was so familiar to me and I know I'd heard it frequently enough in MSQ that I could recognize it immediately. I finally figured it out. The track that the leitmotif is from is "Defender of the Realm", the part that kicks in at around ten seconds. I love how even this song's title is such a clear reference to such an iconic track.
I had to become familiar with that theme name as I uploaded a shitpost of one of the last 5.3 cutscenes, and this features when Alisaie decides to go Sicko Mode.
our dungeon master (completely obsessed with FFXIV) used this theme to a coliseum tournament that celebrated the legend of a pirate. the coliseum was filled with water, and there was a replica of his ship, and we had to fight other parties and sometimes there were ghost crew! and it was the first time my character (ranger) summoned a water fox. one of my favorite arcs till this day 😄
WoL: Master Minstrel? Wandering Minstrel: Yes, my friend? WoL: Would you kindly give us a tune to beat The Twelve to? WM: Certainly! *gets up, kicks away stool and summons a full on band*
Was curious if he was going for that or the Fractal Continuum version where those notes are much more pronounced. I'd say he was going for maximum leitmotif representation but I can't help but wonder what 5 chapter deep reference the Allagan them for the gods will become.
And together with the bards he began to sing about the warrior of light and his many adventures, including of course, the "confrontation" against the gods themselves, which was more of a friendly fight.😊😊
Johnny traveled across almost all Eitherys in companion of his mythical Golden Fiddle: Eorzea, Dravania, Gyr Abania, Hingashi, Yanxia, Sharlayan, Garlemarld (free of the empire's yoke) and Radz-at-Han.🎉🎉

Mounted enemy charges his Chocobo across the arena with his polearm held off to his side, slicing anything in the way and knocking them out of the arena. Immediately follow up with another swipe in either the same or a new direction. Semi-circle cleave AOE centered on the boss before each charge as his bird spins to go again. End with a stomp at the north end of the arena, then the south, and then the middle, each one with a knockback effect and falling rocks creating random AOE placements to keep the party moving in a frantic flurry. Cap it off with a donut AOE as the enemy spins his weapon around, and then a circle AOE as the Chocobo jumps in place. Then the rider dismounts and he and bird become separate enemies that each need to be taken by a tank.
Does anyone have ideas for which themes that might be referenced in this one (with the exception of Prelude, because it's pretty easy to recognize at this point)? I can recognize some parts, like 1:02 which seems to be from Dawn of a New Era. There are several parts however that feel so familiar, and yet I'm drawing blanks on what they might be referencing. In any case, a great theme that fit surprisingly well with each of the bossfights, despite them being thematically different.
