The Lancaster bomber has four of those Merlins. We have one of the few flying Lancasters left in the world just forty miles from me. They have a B-25J Mitchel, and a Supermarine Spitfire XVI also. And a lot of other planes. Flying condition. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Merlin engines have an unforgetable sound.

Great sound but my favourite engine is still the Merlin engines of the Spitfire. It gives me shivers
Yeah, the RR Merlin is in a completely separate division, I get chills when I hear it :-)
