Helpful tip, when doing hard boiled eggs, let them warm to room temperature then into the boiling water, remove them from the boiling water when times up, put directly into cold water, this helps separate the membrane from the inner shell so removing the shell is much easier. On the mouse issue, the obvious solution is to put all soft packaged foods into plastic sealable containers, when feeding the dogs, once they're done eating empty and wash the dish to remove any possible food source Mice can squeeze through a hole no larger than their scull and that's pretty darn small, they can leap up to 2ft straight up so the entire time your side door is open they are drawn to the heat in the winter, you're probably not going to like the trap I recommend but they work, sticky bait traps and place them near the nest area. I had mice invade my class A, if you don't get them within a few days they will breed as soon as they find a food source, in a month you'll have a dozen mice to get rid of, so get 'er done.
Oh dude, watching you process losing all of your footage... I felt that. When you put your whole heart and soul into capturing these moments that are already special on their own, and you look forward to going through it all and telling a beautiful story, suddenly finding you can't do that is such a sickening feeling. The memories are still there, but damn it sucks. Happens to everyone at some point.... Just gotta get through it and focus on the good.

Love your channel!! When I make pickles, I soak them in ice water overnight before pickling day. I don’t pressure can my pickles, just heat the brine and pour into the prepped, stuffed jars. Soaking in ice water crisps them up 👍🏻😊 ❤

I have the cubic grizzly on my boat. I find the clearances are exaggerated for the parts of the stove that have insulation bricks, bottom and sides. Only the front, top and flue get really hot.
You may not realize how intelligent both of you are. I know your dogs realize it by the way they interact with you. They know your the boss of the pac.
Oh and Akela was so funny with her head on the mike. Was it her way of saying " no more work now mum, time for me". My dog gets on my knee in front of my lap top and slams her paws down on the keyboard x
Just remembered, Linnea. To clean the glass on your dear wood stove, all you need is some water & newspaper. The ash on it acts as a cleanser & if memory serves also it’s anti-microbial. For grease, like Chris’ stove try water & white vinegar in s 50/50 solution w/newspaper. In both cases, when newspaper is dry, use to start next fire. I learned this from one of my fave YT couples who live off grid (The Indie Projects) in Portugal after moving from the UK. I know the one works w/out grease; just using my common sense & experience abt a greasy glass door. Good luck!🌀

Shit doesn't just hit the fan, sometimes its like diarrhoea just missiles into and industrial size fan on the highest speed possible... for hours, days or weeks. When this happens its best to stop and have a break. Take time out and do something that makes you happy. I lost a life time of photos and videos. It was more than a decade of files... gone. I feel your pain. X

I love the attitude that you seem to have had when you lost everything, film-wise that is or at least you didn't show it very much. I don't know if you got to read my comment before the storm hit but I did try to warn you it was on its way. I'm sorry that you lost most of your videos and if you need anything that I have in the way of your videos show me how to send them to you and I will send them I will be delighted to send them. I have to tell you I love snow myself but where I live this year we haven't had enough to even measure and we usually get up to a total for the season of 18in of course sometimes it's a little less but that would be a total for the season. I do have to say though we did have all rain in that's great for my well. Y'all should have a little more snow coming but I don't know exactly how much. I don't know as I have ever heard of Dilly beans. They sound great so this year I think I'm going to try to make some although I don't have any teeth to really Crunch them real good, well I do have a few so I can get a little bit of crunch out of them the rest I have to gum them. I sure do like them bloopers I get a kick out of those. I have a question. Are y'all not able to charge your batteries with your engine running? I know some vans have that capability and if you don't it might be a good idea if you did. They charge the solar batteries and the vehicle batteries all at the same time or of course they're connected to solar.
