Broken Suspension Parts On A Couple Jeeps

- We ran out to Fins And Things to weld up a control arm on a Jeep Cherokee. We had to twist the suspension around to get the control arm back in place after welding the control arm bracket back to the axle. Then it was out to Hells Revenge to weld the tabs back onto the axle for a upper control arm on a Jeep Buggy. All went pretty well and pretty quick. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I am reminded of an old car rally adage... remember the farm tractor you pass doing 60 mph spitting gravel into his grill maybe the same farmer you ask with much humility to extract you from a ditch... or his field :-) Two great trail repairs... I really appreciate the fact you keep your videos short, sweet and to the point... THANK YOU!... and Thanks for sharing!
They said " You guys might be able to weld this " 😂😂😂 these guys can weld rocks together 😂😂😂
If they are Australian rocks I'd believe it. In the red center you can pick them up in places and when tapped together they sound exactly like iron. Cause they are.
"we've done this a handful of times before" LOL Mike
LOL
Love that you put the passenger door on for Lilli. And Mike😂.
Yeah and if he never buys any penetrating oil he'll look like a Ghecko......one finger at a time. Get some Sweet Patina wipes for clean up.
There aren’t tchannels I give a thumbs up before I watch the video. But this is one of them.
America 💪🏼🇺🇸🦅🛠️
I'm pretty sure I haven't missed a Trail Mater video in at least 2 years. Keep the great content coming fellas.
I bet those views are something you never get bored of, what a beautiful country.
Nice repairs. Go back to the shop & stare at stuff was the perfect answer. The more I watch the more I understand why you enjoy your job. Thanks for sharing
You know Mater is built tough when you use it for a work bench to hammer metal straight.
Your channel has evolved into something so enjoyable to us here in my house. Thank you Shawn, Rory and Mike and everyone.
You guys are the best! All these off roaders would be so stuck without the amazing things you guys can do.
Some of the worst words in offroad are "Lift Kit" and "bolts to stock location" 😂
HEY! Hello Rory , Mike and Shawn! Thumbs UP!
Or in Mike's case... a BIG thumbs up
That first repair looked as the owner needed a lot more welding done everywhere. 😊
I was watching some reels on FB and came across one of those Pavement Princess trucks. It was an F350 with this squatting suspension and several commenters on the video where like no one would ever take a dually off road. So I did the correct thing and pointed them over here and let them know that not only does someone take dually's off road but that Rory has 3 such trucks.
You could have used one of Matts 9MM wrenches to fill the gaps.
This is the most AWESOME recovery channel EVER!! Nothing FAKE here...go to those other channels for that content.
Hey.
Be happy we don't use the trailer as a jump as you are in the middle of the obstacle fer cryin' out loud and maybe give that girthy girl a diet so we can pass easier. :) :) :)
Kidding aside most of us dirt bikers really aren't that smart and really don't know when a 'good' time to pass is, so please just don't shoot us. Keep the pointers coming!
Mike needs to do a documentary on Dimond billed rock picker
Mike's comment about cars in the midwest. Ya sure, same thing in Minnesnowtah-put-more-salt on dem roads, yeah.
New York has got to be worse for salt.
Mike has so much knowledge about plants and stuff.
. . . but not Jeeps - apparently... lol
I was thinking there was a little lack of maintenance going on there, but, Rory said it better at 4:13ish.....
Rory Mike and Shawn to the rescue of two Jeeps broken. Rory got em welded up and they drove them out! Good video with pretty scenery
You guys are living the life‼️ isn’t that headlight a rectangle? That’s what we call it in Michigan.🤪😂😂
People who get their rigs welded back together on a trail, by Rory and a few others, so far from any repair shops should consider themselves to be very lucky campers. Not too many years ago that would not have been an option. These guys are fortunate that Rory put the extra money in his rig along with his knowhow to make this repair possible and save their day.
And now they come in cordless suitcases! Matt has one.
Best team on You tube.
"It's not dead. It's just resting." - Python For President.
You guys make that look easy. A simple day where you just had to weld. You guys definitely have a best office in the world being on the trails with incredible views
Thanks to all of you.... You make after having a seizure alot easier because your all just so chill and oh yeah i'm another utahn that just hit the 40's club....lol Peace guys.
Thank you. Excelent countryside, also fantastic work on two rescues . Keep on making great entertainment and video's they are great
Strawberry rhubarb crisps, cobblers or straight rhubarb crisps. Ice cream at times, yum. Great show
Mike makes me laugh 😂
Good job Rory,Mike and Shawn! You guys make the best team I've ever seen in off road recovery and repair!
Keep up the good work!! I'll be watch'in!!
Guess some folks do not understand the off road trails are not race courses. There are other places for that. Love the trail repairs. Thanks for sharing.
Greetings from DENMARK
sure like to see @summit donate the 632 CID for the big race can't wait !
Can't wait for the on-X build to resume
I was actually eating rhubarb pie while Mike was talking about making pie from rhubarb. Awesome video as always. Thank you 😊
Passed by y’allz shop today. I saw the door open so of course I started honking like a maniac 😂😂. Hope you guys heard it and smiled
Good job like your attitude towards customers 😊
When Shawn gave the weather report I thought I was on the wrong channel for a sec. 😁😁😁
It is so so weird not to hear the high pitched Wheeeeeeeeeee of the old welder setup that got replaced. Rory just becomes one with the mig machine and does his voodoo. Little did the guy know that probably best welder in 200 mile radius came to rescue. Mike is like ohh yeah we have done it a couple of times plus or minus a few hundred thousand!
Rhubarb pie is delicious!
Mike should consider starting his new career in stand up comedy…he’s hilarious
I genuinely appreciate and enjoy your botony lessons, Mike. Thanks!
EDIT: The super-chill quiet crawling at the end was also really cool.
Yeahoo....the team that laughs, encourages & works together, stays together!!
Nice repair. Keep saving people from themselves.
Hey, Rory, love watching your contact.Hopefully, this don't get me in trouble. But I think you've been a little bit sarcastic on a perfect time to pass
That second rig is pretty sweet.
Gotta really appreciate those Milwaukee Fuel power tools
"Probably the mig..."
Love your work, my friend.
This video makes me appreciate my new ALCAN front leaf springs even more! And this fancy BS suspension vs Maters Mighty Paw springs! Leaf Springs for the win! FTW! Sometimes, less is more! And simple rules the day! Mater was my decision maker when I was about to S.A.Swap my truck 🛻 I figured "If it works for Mater, it works for me!" Thanks my little tow truck buddy!
another Good One, You Guys are Great
Thank Rory and crew for the adventure , seeing some amazing scenery and watching great recoveries !
Thumbs Up for Kroil.......Aye Mike.
The tow truck is amazing! Good trail repairs too. But when I pound on the end of a bolt, I put the nut on the end and pound on the nut rather then the threads. However, I would be very pleased to find you if I broke down
Beautiful day at the office
Yes Mike, "square headlights" means something - it means that these headlights are square. 😂😁🤟
Man I love jeep Cherokees best cheap Jeeps around ,
"Yea," Mike acknowledged on the welding question. "We have done this ... um, a handful of times before." A handful? ROFL
Take a gander at it....
Went through Moab for the first time in 25 years 2 weeks ago, crazy busy! Still beautiful tho
Rhubarb makes a lot of delicious recipes! 😋
Nice job welding it's so relaxing when you do it .....not me
I have an 01 Dodge pickup that spent its first few years in Illinois. The right front Unit bearing required the hot wrench to remove.
That would have been an interesting repair to watch in the shop. Out on the trail, just wow!
You guys are awesome and do such a good job. I love watching your videos and even at 64 years old I’ve learned a lot by watching your troubleshooting techniques.thanks so much and keep up the good work.🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Rhubarb pie is my favorite!
Another pair of jobs very well done
Excellent repairs again. Awesome
Thumbs up, great video, always enjoy coming along on your adventures
So glad I found this channel, way freakin awesome!
Fun stuff.
Sweet a video before I have to head off to bed...great way to end the day...thanks. I have been passed by dirt bikes out at the sand dunes and some of them riders have a death wish. Seen many close calls that made me close my eyes thinking this is not going to end well.
Am I the only one slightly disappointed that the new welder doesn't whistle like the old one?
Yes a trailmater video I click and watch and the rest of my day is all set! 🏜️🛠️⛓️
I got two new videos to watch today. Awesome!
Nice!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Beautiful scenery thanks
Quick and easy fixes! Nice work
Great job on the trail repairs!! You guys are an amazing team!! I really enjoy watching all your videos!!!
Thanks guys!
Another couple jobs well done!!
It's a good thing you brought the anvil with you.
@9:00 Old style video, extended video of left tires. Love it.
Thanks for the videos boys, always enjoy sitting down and giving you guys a watch!
I love the trail repair with welding . Great video . All stick welding this time
Love the out takes at the end of the videos
the things got done day was success 🤠👍👍
Trail Mater and Wille...they just ate that trail up!
Couple nice trail repairs. Welding is a whole lot easier that towing or carrying them out. The brackets on the XJ looked pretty flimsy??
The problem Rory had when trying to drive out that bolt, was not the need for penetrating oil but a much larger hammer. I had a mate whose answer to everything stuck was to get progressively larger hammers until something moved or (whisper) broke.
The last hammer is a cutting torch. Can’t be stuck if it’s a liquid! Used this approach on a Dodge Unit bearing 3 days ago.
@@heathwilliamson1723 correct! I forgot the molten metal. I have done it many times. Age is melting my memory as well as rusty car parts.
Rory, if ever you’re near Loveland Colorado let me know. I would consider it a distinct privilege to shake your hand 🖐️ Sir!
Maybe a short ride in Trailmater…. Bucket list almost done ✅
Keep up the great work!
🙏❤️😎🤙
I have been on that trail 3 different times. Awesome views. You three boys are the best.
Thanks for making
Howdy trailmater thanks for the video
Thank you guys
Do you have “crumble” in the US ? In the UK we have crumble which is flour, butter & sugar that is mixed in to a “crumbly” mixture.
Stewed Rhubarb with a crumble topping is delicious with hot custard.
8:38 It's not resting, it's passed on!
Wild rhubarb that’s cool
You make it all look so simple! Repairs on the trail!
