Love JM Fortier. I actually knew and watched him before I found you and Rebekah on RUclips. Watched Elliott on cable decades ago. You all are so very very special to my heart and health. Love Casey & Tori, who are destined for success. Love this interview. Must do more. How cool would it be to have JM in the Hollar for a whole month or two. Wow! Can't wait to see where this goes in the future. Welcome to Western NC JM Fortier! You are simply amazing!😊❤🥬🥒🍉🍅🥦

All of JMs interviews are great, but this one is possibly the best yet. I love the unfiltered chat. Thank you JM and Justin.

Ahhh..28 years ago I was giving a bread making class and one of the young moms asked what I was making during one of our breaks, I told her it was beef vegetable soup.... but no she was asking what was I doing!... she was floored when I told her it was soup and she literally with all seriousness said, "I didn't know you can make soup!" She thot it only came in a can.... and to this day she introduces me to people as her friend who made her own soup! Hahaha.. she does now as well, but it was a huge learning curve for that young mom. I was dumb founded. When I first got married in 1978, we were poor, I never learned how to cook, but my mom was a fabulous cook and my step dad was a chef! He fished from the ocean and we ate good.. but no one taught me. So I delved in. I wanted to know how to cook my own and not open it from a can and it went from there. Love these sit down and talk shows with folks Justin. I'm cleaning the farm store while listening. Keeps me focused on the job~

Many years ago, I saw a English chef, Jamie Oliver i think 🤔, not sure……. He goes to a public school in Florida to educate child’s and bring with him a box of fresh vegetables 🥕 🧅🍅🥦. One by one he asked to the childrens the name of each vegetable. Kid’s didn’t no………. Didn’t recognize a tomato 🍅, an onion……. at 7,8,9 years old………. Wo……. But they recognize a box of pizza, a can of Chili, ……. So sad. Last year Dr Phil and other brilliant woman’s and mens were confused to learn that USA is at the 34th rank in the world 🌍 for the quality of their education system……………that explains so many things.

Justin I've been trying to get the MG certification for 3 years. Damn Cook Country wont hire anyone to actually work in our extension and just keeps canceling the classes and testing every year since the pandemic. I'm running a micro-farm in my yard, and am a Site Steward for the country forest preserve. Drives me totally nuts that I can't get a community volunteer cert because Illinois is such a joke.

We did Airbnb and it changed the house to a one bathroom smaller apartment with stairs the week before we left. We got our money back but had to find other arrangements. Apparently the people renting wanted to stay longer. 🙄

Justin… I’ve been following your channel for a year now. I’ve never heard you or Rebecca mention conventional (goober ment subsidized) schooling of your children. Are they home schooled ?

Justin u have already started the Global yet community-based market for farmers and that is your local community map you could market this for farmers to get on the map to put with your growing etc. just giving you a business idea As far as plastic goes, it’s simple make the plastic out of things like bamboo, leftover rice, holes, or the part of the race that doesn’t get harvested Stocks that’s what it’s called things that nature you can make bags you can make cups you can make spoons it’s not that hard. We have the technology.

Yeah, is that an American thing where kids are expected to move out right at 18? I’ve been noticing that in a lot of YT videos lately… I’m in Canada and we I guess do expect/hope that kids will want to move into their own thing, but no hard set age or anything. I hope my daughter always knows she has a place at home too, but I want her to learn independence as well, but not the feeling of being out out in the cold.

French canadian get the catholic religion out of the public system 60 years ago cause of all the atrocities theyve done to peoples and first nations........They took bad habits started to used church words to swear and make their points , they also used the F...... word too, when angry points need to be label....... The F...... word only........ in french meen « Shit « I’m not excusing him. but 2 or 3 times in almost 2 hours........ for a french farmer doing great things.......... I heard worst every week from many politician and stars they’ve done nothing for decades...... But i agree with you......🌼
