One important thing to keep in mind is that not EVERY piece is worth crafting, even more so if it is a commonly crafted item. Prices for these kinds of items tend to be lower than their components. However, the more specific and niche an item gets, the more expensive it ends up being to outright buy. Always check prices first!
To piggyback on this, generally speaking if you need chaos res and one other mod, its always worth crafting as t1 chaos res is very rare unless its forced, and it adds some 5x to the value of the rare, so spamming essence of envy on fractured t1 suppression until you hit t3-1 life and an empty prefix/suffx or w/e you need, always worth it since chaos res SS life gear is overpriced as shit

I am still not going to craft anything because I am too dumb for that but this is a great video. At least now I know something about crafting.
I feel the same as you. I understand the concept. I still barely even know what’s a prefix and a suffix so the whole process is time consuming to ensure I’m doing it correctly.

Quick note to the suffixes cannot be changed mod. If your suffixes are full you can use the Wild Bristle Matron beast to force the suffixes metamod on an item and it's always a cheaper price than the full 2 div crafting bench (It's usually between 1 and 1.5 div after the first week of the league).
@@mattb6646 the hole goes deeper, when mixing this with harvest crafting, resonators,beasts, fracturing the item yourself.. etc... you can do it from scratch pretty much to higher than this example.

I'm on my first league in poe. And crafting is something that I am really just too scared to get in to. I've watched multiple guides about it already and still have no idea how to even start crafting. But this video is really informative, I watched(listened to) this while driving and I am able to understand how to craft or get the idea atleast. Great guide.
I'm glad I found this video. I am literally just dumbfounded on how to progress in my build. I just got to maps and I am going by a build guide but I am getting smoked with 75% resistances. Maybe one day I will understand this game.

So this video took me from never crafting items, because I was always afraid of wasting currency, to crafting ALL of the rares on my character. It took my character from being pretty meh to doing about 30% more damage and becoming a lot more tanky by capping my chaos resist. Thank you so much for showing these steps in a very clear and concise way. I’ll never play PoE the same ever again because of this video. ❤
True! All my rares are niw made by me, crafting. Made my first hundred divs by crafting items and swlling them. I just turned my 28 div to a possible 200 div item if I get lucky.
this the kind of video i needed as a beginner. settler is my first league ever and i have craft my helmet for my build at the half with the right rolls, its feels good to know u crafted something at your own. i will go dig deeper in the topic of crafting but that is my beginner strategie for now, thx a lot for that video

Fantastic video, this is pretty much the depth of my crafting knowledge but damn if it didn't take me a long time to figure all of this out and its really a good summary. I still don't really profit craft I just enjoy being able to make functional items for my builds so I can keep progressing and basically playing my self imposed SSF style because I just don't like trading much lol

Only need your written or video steps explaining on how to easily hit the mods I need and to protect the ones I have, since I am still new to all this crafting possibilities. One important thing I didnt know for a long time: suf/pre cant be changed means: only existing ones cant be changed! not the suffix slots themselves. if there are only 2 suffix, a 3rd one can still be added. its easy to missunderstand!

Essence does respect the cannot be changed mods, it makes it so you can't use essence on them at all.
