They come 70% tint as standard. If you get pulled make sure to roll both windows down!

The legal 70% rule is true but if they were tinted even 10% from factory(which will be more like 30%) they will be illegal mate.
Very true, I'm not sure how much the front windows come tinted out of the factory but a lot of cars already come with a 70% tint. So if you are putting more tint on that it will be illegal
Tbh I’ve had limo tints on my car for 3 years (F30 335d) first thing I do when I get pulled over is pull down the front two windows and anyway it’s only a £70 fine so who cares lol

Haven't done window tints for years.... You've made me remember how easy it is.... Might have a go on my current car... You can heat shrink tints with a hot hair dryer or heat gun... But make sur your tints ARE heat shrinkable.... Halfords ones are NOT

It looks good. I bought a used car years ago that had tinted windows so dark that I couldn't see pedestrians or bicyclists at night. It was a little dangerous when going around turns.

Take the metal clips out of the wind deflectors and use double sided tape instead because it will scratch the tint when u put the window up and down
Be carefull mate u may get pulled for the window tints do come already tinted from factory,
70% is the legal limit for 2 front windows and 70% for the windscreen. Back windows and rear can be whatever you want

5% tint is legal on the back I got mine done professionally
Back 3 windows can be blackout. (like a van without side and boot windows)
Literally a simple google search tells you a 5% on the back is fine

Front can be 65% tinted as long as the car was registered after 1993.
You must allow 35% on front windscreen and driver and passenger windows.
But rears can be as dark as you like.
I have full tints on the back and 25% on the front yes it’s illegal but who cares 😂😂

Most windows are actually already slightly tinted from factory (front ones too) without knowing so adding the 70% will actually put it over the legal limit but got more chances of winning a Bentley on BOTB then you do getting pulled over for that tint

Got pulled yesterday for having 40% tints on my vxr, out of all the times getting pulled, yesterday was the first time my tints were mentioned. Lucky to have got no ticket, but took a while to get them off on the side of the road, and left with a sticky residue

see the comments saying front windows are illegal to tint that is only if your car has factory tint on the front window. and also tints are pretty cheap to have done I paid 50 for my 3 rear windows
I tried... and failed 1st time. 2nd time side windows were great but back was a mess. BTW front windows are illegal to tint which i found out when I got pulled by plod and told to remove on the spot. 😪

nope you can have a tint on the front window but you have to let 70% of the light in
@@2bunny522 yeah, and 90% of factory cars already come out with a low level tint , by even putting a low level tint on your essentially doubling up the tint and therefore would be darker than 70% and making it far darker 👍🏻 thanks for the input?

@@MatthewA7 not worried at all, have myself actually as I used to tint just said what the law was, typically they won’t bother pulling for tint, they’ll only start looking once they have you for something elze to double up

You know what, for a first attempt, you did well. Considerably better than my own first attempt. I couldn't get that stupid vinyl to stick on the glass. But it did help considerably when I peeled off the protective layer from the vinyl....

Had my Land Rover Freelander with Halfords dark smoke at the back and light smoke at the front, with a sunstrip on the windscreen - loved it, wish I'd done it before driving through London in the summer though. Had limo tint on the back of my Rover 75 and dark smoke on the front but driving at night was tricky, plus was getting weird looks from everyone I passed when they couldn't see me, then I managed to rip it so ended up removing it and leaving it plain.
They usually come about 30 tint so adding another 30 is gunna be a 60 tint..

If it’s already a 30% tint, adding another 30% to it would making it a 51% tint

@@exrly9691 but if you wanted to know the maths, basically your not adding a 30% tint to the original glass, your adding it to tinted glass, you you would have to do 70% of a 70% light pass, which is 49% and 100% - 49% = 51% which would be the correct tint on the glass
Cars are usually tinted to the legal limit from factory so you might want to double check and be careful

The worst thing you can use is fairy liquid. It's full of salts. Baby shampoo and obviously watered down is best for window tinting.
I have not watched this yet but if you do it I will etempt it again myself.. Last time I did it I bought that cheap stuff from Halfords and let's just say it went terribly wrong for me haha I felt like putting my fist thro the window after an hour. "EDIT" OK after watching I'd say that's a decent job mate. Might give it ago again.

Most cars are factory tinted on the front sides at the maximum legal level already so any tint on top will make it illegal.
Saying that.... I've got 20% tint on the rears and 50% on the fronts so I can't judge 🤣🤣
As far as pricing for the tints... I paid £120 for the rear windows and £50 for the front side windows and a tinted sunstrip

70% will be too much. So are illegal. As the glass isn’t 100% transparent from factory. Usually Vauxhall use a 70% tinted glass. So you’re are now tinted 140%. That’s why you don’t tint the front windows.

By law no window tint should be applied to the front windows as from the factory the glass let's in 70% of the light. And the film has the fingers at the bottom of the tint due to the film not being heat shrunk to the glass. This is a video to show that if you want a decent window tint job, pay a professional. Tinting is one car modification that can either really set your car off or make your car look like a pile of crap. In my opinion, unless you know what your doing, get it done professionally
Erm hate to tell u but tha ain’t legal pretty much all cars come with a 30% tint on the front side windows and 25% in the front window so on the sides u behave baso made a 60% tint

You should by a expensive tint had the same problems bought a more expensive tint easer to use
Each window will probably have a marking on it to confirm the percentage tinting.
Ive done this at least 5 times.....it doesn't get any easier and just remember when youre buyin that 10 dollar tint at autozonw or walmart...u only get what u pay for and that cheap Gila tint is ridiculous to work with
You do know that tinting your front 2 windows at all is illegal? Your allowed a 30% tint which is how it comes out of the factory so any extra tint takes it above that.

Even though your saying your doing 70% cos it's legal what your actually doing is taking it down to 40% as factory windows are already down to 70%, I'd check if I was you
