What a great review mate, we need more honest trades people like you out there. Not everyone can afford to get a professional in, or just want to try themselves. All the best 👍
Just the video I needed to watch. Small window at the back I was going to tint on the digger. So was going to try myself with Halfords tinting. Think I could manage it and with watching your video is going to make me give it a go.
Cheers Michael, I just bought this from Halfords and was looking for guidance on how to fit, I only need it for the purpose of passing eyes seeing my tools so should suit my purpose. Thanks for the video 👍
😂 Lay back window in strips well explained video mate so funny they definitely need to explain in the instructions to use a Heat gun 👍 u should do another video to show people what happens when they push down the spears without heat shrinking
Hi, yes the heat gun should be really hot but keep the heat moving so it doesn't burn the film. Seeing the dots referred to where I need to cut the film which is just past the dot matrix border
Hi Michael do you recon I could do a motorcycle acrylic screen that’s curved with that Halfords stuff ? Any tips would be helpful thanks an regards Trev
Hi trev. No unfortunately not. Window film is only for glass. Plastic expands in heat so window film could either crack the lens (because it won't allow it to expand) or if the film does let the plastic expand once the plastic cools back down the film will be full of big bubbles. You could do it with headlight / Tailight film though as that is plastic and will expand with the plastic 👍
I'm not sure on DIY kits to be honest. But the Halfords kit does have a knife and a card to push out the water. You shape the tint on the outside first then transfer it to the inside of the glass 👍
Suntek carbon is really forgiving. It shrinks really well and you can heat out minor flaws pretty well. Unfortunately it has a really bad scratch resistant coating. We use Global Window film. Personally its my favourite. Everyone has a different preference though. Global, suntek, llumar, Expel.. All very good 👍

Really good video. Straight forward, honest review. Thank you Michael.
Useful and a nice presentation style. I bought some for my car
Great video I think it will be good enough to do rear windows for my work van to stop people checking out what's on board. Thanks

Am about to do my golf lol have no idea 🤷♂️ how to do this I hope with your help from your video I can tint my back windows
Very informative - thank you. Will it work on perspex? I want to tint a door canopy.
@observer8838 no unfortunately you can't put window Film on plastic as plastic expands in heat and the Film won't expand with it
@@tinted-tinted8879 Thank you.
Hi, enjoyed the video. Do you use heat gun on hottest setting? What do you mean by seeing your dots? Thank you

Semi ok. I'm using it to tint a Star Wars costume visor. 1 layer is not enough
Thanks a lot! Are there any good DIY brands/kits? Why'd you tint the outside then the inside? Does it matter?

Could u use it on lights for tinting ?
Good vid cheers😁
Where are you based?.....really good vid👍
Thanks Jeffrey. We're based in Blandford, Dorset
what's the best / most forgiving tint?
Suntek carbon is really forgiving. It shrinks really well and you can heat out minor flaws pretty well. Unfortunately it has a really bad scratch resistant coating. We use Global Window film. @@tinted-tinted8879 Thanks mate.
Is it possible to shrink with a hairdryer?
Not really. It's not hot enough
can this be done without heat shrinking ??
Hi Jay. Without heat shrinking is what the Halfords instructions recommend but any professional window tinter will heat shrink the film
how many windows could I tint with 72x300cm tint
You could probably get a car out of it depending on the size of the car
@@tinted-tinted8879 you reckon it can do a Vauxhall Corsa d 3dr hatchback ?
@@rayhaneaslam5477 yes it would. For more in depth online videos visit our new website Tinternet.online
