    I've had mine for about a week now and the first two days I couldn't get over the nagging feeling that it had a considerably large dead zone out of the box. I was noticing sluggish movement still even after adjusting my dead zones in-game for like 3 hours in multiple games trying to get to the bottom of it. I saw a Reddit post saying they also felt this but no one mentioned it improving. I decided to update the controller with the Xbox accessories app and luckily I noticed a major improvement in the responsiveness of the controller afterward.
    If someone here happens to get the controller and feels the same thing give that a shot. I was on the verge of returning it and it was sad cause I like this controller lmao

    I must have hot the jackpot because I've been using my Scuf for about 800 hours now and have had absolutely zero issues. I did replace the thumb sticks about 50 hours ago because I felt like they were getting a little worn down, they didn't look any different but they did feel a little odd, they're back to normal now and the entire controller still feels new to me. I've been VERY impressed for a controller that I was told wouldn't last long.

      My Elite Series 2 had one paddle half stop working and the A/B buttons sticking and all happened at same time its weird, but had the controller for like 3 years. Worked flawlessly the entire time. Just ordered the Scuf yesterday and gonna order another elite 2 just in case bc ik that's for sure reliable.

  • @javiersosa1750
    @javiersosa1750 2 года назад +28

    I’ve been through 3 elite 2s and just recently my elite 2 got horrible stick drift on both sticks, when I looked at my warranty sticker, I realized that was 6 days too late to cover it under warranty so that was frustrating but ultimately my fault for not checking earlier. I just ordered the instinct pro to try something new for a change because I really love the elite 2 but these problems are just too common. For anyone who’s in the same boat as me and still wants a second opinion on whether to keep the elite 2 or to try the new instinct pro, come back to this comment on the 5th or 6th of April and I’ll give you my thoughts on the controller. Just a FYI, I play warzone semi competitively. Anyways thanks for the review great as always!
    Edit: sorry if you were waiting on an update from me yesterday, but I feel like I need like 3 or 2 more days and I will confidently have an answer for you guys thx!
    Edit 2: So after enough playing time, I feel like I came to my final conclusion. The conclusion that I came to was that, this is definitely one of the best controllers I played with. However it doesn’t completely over shadow the elite 2. Just for some context, I never liked trigger stoppers, they always felt weird to me and these were kinda no different. They definitely feel better then just regular trigger stoppers but that’s all I can really say about that aspect of the controller I had to disable it after a few matches I just felt that it didn’t really give me an edge as I already have a decent trigger finger, if you are one of those people that like having the trigger stoppers on then these will definitely fell fantastic, I myself never gravitated to stoppers so I feel like my opinion on the hair triggers don’t matter too much. The PADDLES/BUTTONS felt pretty good. I rarely use all 4 of my paddles on the elite 2. I Manley use just two, the reason for that is I never really liked using all 4 as it felt like I didn’t have a good grip on the controller, but with the design on this controller it felt funny at first but I kinda got used to it and liked it , definitely not for everyone as I read that people don’t really like the ergonomics of the paddles. If you were just like me and only used 2 paddles then this shouldn’t be a problem, I never once hit the other button by accident and those extra buttons are there just in case you ever want to use all 4. So just to wrap things up I will say that if you really don’t have money to throwing around then I can’t comfortably recommend you this controller but if you are fortunate enough to afford one then I promise you that you’ll love the controller. I would personally give both the elite and the new scuff an 8/10. They both feel great but like I said, this scuff is not levels ahead of the elite 2 so don’t feel like you need to buy this in order to compete at the highest level. Hopefully that was easy to read/understand, if anyone still needs some advice on which to pick, fill free to comment below and I will try to answer.

    Bought the Instinct Pro at the beginning of February. After the first day I started noticing the LT trigger stop wasn't working properly, it wasn't stopping the trigger properly and felt like it was double clicking. Next day same with the RT. So I returned it for repair and got it back quickly but after a couple of days it happened again. Sent it back for another repair and again, after a few days I had the same problem. Returned it and got a refund. The controller felt great but with the piss poor warranty I wasn't willing to take the chance of the best part of the controller failing again. £200+ was too big a gamble for what you get. Have since bought the Razer Wolverine v2 Chroma and although I've only had it a short time it is working flawlessly, which is more than I can say for the multiple Scuf, Battle Beaver and Elite Series 2 controllers I've had in the past couple of years.

    For your disconnection problem (maybe): in windows USB peripherals are by default set up to be shut down after some time to save power. For decades that's the first thing I disable whenever I install Windows. You can find it in device manager. In the list of USB tree and each peripheral you'll find something like power option/ shut down this peripheral to save power... I do it for each one + mice, keyboards...

      I always will if it's noteworthy, but in this case it's simply a stock XSX D-Pad. I've heard many who play fighting games enjoy the XSX D-Pad very much, but I didn't think it was something to focus on in this review.
      There are many pro controllers much cheaper that would likely be better for fighting games in terms of value-per-dollar like the GameSir G7. @@vCuda Thanks. This is a good controller I heard a lot of good things about it. I am really enjoying the Xbox Series X dpad, comparing it to DS4, DS5, Vitrix Pro, and Xbox Elite, for fighting games. It has the best balance of comfort and precision, most importantly precision and capability of easy 360 inputs.

    i feel like the problem with some of these review videos, is that they dont consider every type of consumer who would be interested in this item, it seems like you like to play with this controller wired. why? me personally i cannot go back to wired i just hate it. for me the reason i am most interested in this controller, is NOT simply because it has clicky switch triggers. its because it has a faceplate that removes with replacable sticks and easier access to repaire the sticks if further damage occurs, and because it takes double A batteries. this is a big deal because you can literaly get rechargable batteries for it and never worry about it. so the option is nice. to me, it is rdiculous that the elite 2 controller doesnt have that option. so, yes, nice triggers, nice access to sticks, custom faceplates, great rubber grip, same quality of series s controllers, still updatable through xbox controller app on windows, and has replaceable D-pad as well. basically, for me i was searching for an xbox series s controller with better features and more user friendly repair options and battery pack custom possibility. and thats exactly what the instinct pro is. AND you can buy a motion control add on that outputs through steam as ps4 controller, which means, basically you get all those amazing options, and you can use motion controls for shooters. its the most custom controller for me, and i love that. even the elite 2 pales in comparison. yes custom stick tension would be cool, but....i mean. im a big fan of motion controls so, its kind of useless to me anyway.

    • @vCuda
      @vCuda  2 года назад

      So basically
      You feel like the problem with these review videos is that they don't discuss the things you want them to discuss? lol
      I use it wired because the response times are more consistent and I don't have to have batteries in. I'm on PC as well, so its way easier to use wired. Its weird that you say you're interested in the instinct pro for the removable faceplate and thumbsticks, when I've literally reviewed $80 controllers that do the same thing. What I mean is, this is an unbelievably common feature that can be found on multiple controllers under $200. This is why I said the only interesting feature on the controller is the clicky triggers. Which is objectively true, all the features here aside from those can be found on other, cheaper custom controllers with longer warranties so their existence invalidates the Instinct Pros in most scenarios
      I understand that you enjoy the instinct pro, but take a second to think about the amount of money you paid for it. Look at a controller like the Victrix Gambit, its a wired controller thats $100, claims to be the fastest Xbox controller, and has damn near as many features as the Series 2. Price to Performance matters man!
