Great video and art haul. I attended OAX aswell and agree that it is was a great show. Picked up commissions from Manix and Maxi also, along with a few others. Will hopefully post them on CAF by this week.
I would definitely preserve the pencils and have it inked separately, as it sounds like you'll get way more out having them side by side, but you're right, there's no wrong answer

I keep going back and forth. I do have a nice Doomsday sketch where I have the pencils & inks on separate boards and I love comparing them. I really wanted to have a piece where they both worked on the same board & this was supposed to be that piece. Just a tougher decision now that I have them in hand. Not rushing it though so I know I’ll land on the “right” choice.

Congrats on all the successful commissions you picked up and on the published art as well. It's good to hear that you were able to chat with the artists without feeling the pressure of the lineup of people behind you. Terrific event reaction video, Carl. We don't collect the same things but that was the great thing about OAX to me - the event really did have something for collectors of all tastes and I'm looking forward to going again next year.

These were so cool! After you showed off those Max D'Allo pieces I went back to Mark's email where he was announcing the list and I was floored by those prices and the awesome composition/brushwork. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on. I had OAX on my radar but ultimately passed since I'm doing Heroes later. Would love a separate video where you focus more on the convention itself, what your schedule was, who had the big lines, con stories, that kind of thing. Got some of that in this video but it was obviously more about the art pieces than the show itself
I can’t recommend Maxi enough! Love all the work he did at the show! Another friend got a great Miles sitting, snacking on a rooftop & it was lovely! I really hope for some great things from his future! I definitely chose to focus more on the art while peppering in what the show was like, but I know I ended up mainly geeking out about the art. The show itself was really fun, a big part of that was that I had friends there & it was just so amazing to spend a weekend hanging out, laughing, sharing & enjoying each others pick ups. It was such a relaxed atmosphere!
