Ambidextrous
is the stage name for Nick Zavriev, an electronic musician born in Moscow, Russia. His solo work primarily focuses on IDM, electro and ambient, but he is also involved in a number of side projects ranging from krautrock to italo disco. Since the start of his music career in the late 90s Ambidextrous has released over 10 albums including the 2001 LP “Errorism”, which got favorable reviews both in Russian and International media and brought him recognition ever since. Nick’s music came out on classic IDM labels such as U-cover, n5MD, Toytronic, m3rck and many more. Currently Ambidextrous works with Moscow-based label SEALT known for deluxe vinyl pressings and a number of European labels including Pulse State (UK) and Fantasy Enhancing (UK/Italy). The latest Ambidextrous album called "Grounded Rectangle" came out in late May 2023 on Moscow-based Mestnost label. In addition to his music career, Nick teaches modern and contemporary music courses in Moscow Music School and HSE School of Design, runs a popular educational music podcast "Planetronica", gives public lectures and works as a music journalist and critic.
