Same here! I have Antelope Audio-hardware and been using the Antelope Fairchild compressor before it went native plugin. Must say both units sounds great but the Antelope version sounds better.

100% this, USD turns everything into 💩, does something to the top end. Unfortunately it took me months before I worked out the UAD plugs were doing this to try imitate analog but it just makes for blah mixes IMHO. I'm actually impressed by the Antelope here.

Warm the Antelope sounds 'richer' & more open, while the UA sounds tighter & thinner in the acoustic guitar comparison. Interesting. :Edit: Same with the bass guitar, but less noticeably.

I have the UAD Fairchild, never tried the Antelope. I rate Waves’ Puigchild above UAD partly because on the output while in Lat/Vert mode the left output knob adjusts mid volume and the right output knob adjusts side volume. The UAD does not do this for some bizarre reason, still adjusting the left and right outputs. What blows them all away is Acustica Audio’s Ultramarine which behaves like the Puigchild with the mid/side output and provides a ton more analog color and depth than the Puigchild or the UAD offering.

You should try the Ultramarine from Acustica ,sounds much better and accurate than these 2 .

I noticed you mentioned alot your not a fan of acustica audio.. may i ask why to understand better?
I also own the Antelope but curious on your take on Acustica

Their plugins are generally CPU hogs, they consistently crash in the 3 DAW's I use on a regular basis, they are expensive and most importunity, the few that I tried I didn't think they sounds all that good.

My only gripe for antelope is the vu meters act wild for some of their plugins. super jumpy.

UAD is the worst 670 ever.Simply hate it !! Hahah for real ,if you use Acustica Audio / IK Multimedia 670 you don't even bother with this one ,as for the Antelope sounds nice
