Antelope Plugins sounds much better. Funny that they beat the UA with their own LA2A and 1176 D:

Well, round 1, the UAD 1176 was way smoother and punchier to my ears, the Antelope creates a sort of smear and reverb at the end I didn't like. Anyone else agree?

100% agree, great punch and not harsh on the uad version

@@campar1043 At least not everyone thinks I am crazy 🤣
      Thanks for your opinion.
I am starting to see less difference between really good plugins and hardware now. I remember White Sea Studio salivating over Alpha hardware compressor because it was able to do 20db GR without distortion, and the plugin version can not, and he was saying how much far ahead hardware is in general, but I have multiple compressor plugins that can do 20db gain reduction and remain clean. Not that anyone should use 20db compression gain control LOL, but the point is, plug ins are getting really good now. That said, Alpha plugin is no where near as good as real Alpha, but not all plugins should be judged by one.

Does Antelope still only have just one reverb still to this day? Antelope does have Auraverb....
I am really surprised they haven't' even added a second vintage verb or something by now.

Same thing that I had today on a mix. Re-mixed a song with UAD using antelope in demo mode - I mixed the whole song again with more joy and faster. Your hear every stroke that you make eq wise - very good

EXTRAORDINARY POINT mentioning, when you buy UAD UA2 Plugins, that you receive the license to the Native versions of the same plugins for FREE... No need to buy 2 licenses for the same plugin.

worth mentioning when you buy UAD hardware how much effects you get for free and how much effects you get with AA when you get the hardware. I got 51 effects included with my Orion Studio SC...otherwise a nice comparison

One thing about Antelope is that you can buy a single interface that can take your entire studio in realtime inputs and then some. But I still find their mixer very convoluted to this day, it's just not intuitive to me whereas Apollo is so easily laid out. I also find their interfaces overpriced, and their drivers hit or miss (I don't know about their latest USB drivers or Windows drivers, I only had experience with their earlier thunderbolt stuff).
If you are on Mac, UAD is incredibly solid, even the old Tbolt 2 interfaces work on Tbolt 4 macs with a Tbolt 3 adapter. They don't work on Windows TBolt 4.
Also, the multi client core audio drivers are very good on mac. The Asio drivers on Windows are fine, but the WDM drivers for all other tasks are NOT.
In this regard, I am not sure if Antelope fairs better, as it's hard to find info.
Just building my ultimate all in one audio production AND gaming PC, so likewise, I want to use my pro interface for my games too.
I have 3 UAD Apollo TBolt 2 and can't use them on my Windows 14th gen system, I could upgrade them, but I am just thinking of selling up and looking elsewhere or even going native.

Is the mic preamp in zen go better than apollo solo ??

    • @CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE
      @CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE  9 месяцев назад +1

I feel it’s a bit cleaner but… once in the mix with all the processing the difference won’t be noticeable. The zen q does have adat in so you have more expandability
Do to financials, I’m selling my Zen Q with the edge solo mic, autotune and all the antelope plugs. Let me know if you know anyone looking.

Universal Audio just started giving their customers a certain time frame to redeem vouchers for the native versions of their plugins - basically whatever plugins you have, if they came out with a native version, you can redeem your voucher within 30 days of an email they send you. If you don't redeem the code within that time frame, they will charge you for the native version of a plugin that you already have 🤦🏽‍♂️
Edit: I should also point out that the charge for the native version is not even $3 if you didn't meet that time frame and already have the original plugin.
