Reminds me of my sister - a farmer and former vet. She would just call you clueless and walk away. She used to farm cattle, but now she has several small lakes on her property, stocked with fish, for people to pay to torture... place is full of anglers, fishing competitions, etc. Smh

How can you have pigs in your backyard, but not see them as the individuals they are? It is shocking when people use their backyard animals (chicken or pigs) to justify the exploitation of said species. You'd expect them to have developed empathy for these beautiful creatures, but it's the complete opposite. Very scary.
One of my friends has moved from the city to a rented house on a farm and decided to buy sheep to breed as a Hobby. It totally disgusts me that someone I had respect and love for has chosen to directly partake in animal abuse. Absolutely gutting.

It always galls me that they say they had sleepless nights with sick “pets” keeping them alive, when they would have been shown a mercy to let them die naturally than to send them to horrific, painful and terrifying violence.

Factory farms are horrendous. However, when you "raise" your own animals and look at them in the eyes everyday, knowing that they are going to be on your plate in the near future, that is scary on another level. Those animals trust you, and they willingly walk onto that truck; not knowing they are about to be chopped into pieces. I am forever ashamed to be a human.
