Worst part about these farms: they are all free-range, cruelty free, grass-fed, and organic. These companies have no legal obligations to truthfully advertise what's going on in their farm.

i’m a turkey farmer, i don’t treat them like this. My birds stay clean and healthy all day and everyday. Not all farmers are like this and the ones that are genuinely make me sick

Absolutely shocking that this is happening so close to York (my home town). I speak with farmers when doing outreach with We The Free and the common spiel is "that doesn't happen on my farm". They are cruel liars. Don't let farmers lie to you about how animals are treated.

Hybrid Turkey has a massive breeding facility here in Canada. They produce 60% of turkeys globally.
Several of us were arrested prior to a meat the victims action at this location a few years ago.
We weren’t able to discuss our case with codefendants.
It ultimately led to be given a peace bond, which we really didn’t have a choice but to accept.
It shows the lengths this industry will go to hide the truth from the public.
We need more of these exposed but please do with people you trust and who are capable.

@@shawndarling1980 what ifs are always a fun topic but in this case and all other cases of farming/slaughterhouses it should be transparent, they should be fully viewed by the public with nothing hidden from us. Do you think more laws and secrecy are the way?
Also, when you create laws like say from bill 156 in Ontario (which is currently being challenged in court) you suppress the need for personal accountability. Farmers in Canada and abroad with these laws can just do whatever they want. As a former federal ag inspector myself I’ve seen what takes place in the shadows of this industry and its horrific.
The reason you or the public should care is because not only are the claims of animal ag not being looked at nor is the abuse torture being investigated but the precedence set for external industries can now use these laws in other industries. Imagine whistleblowing a fundamental enshrined democratic function being completely removed from the conversation!? Well I’m sure you can guess what that ends up turning into.

Such a heartbreaking and saddening video seeing what happens to these innocent turkeys. Like you said in your video I can't believe practices like this exist and we cause all this extreme suffering to animals that never deserved it in the first place. It's so messed up to know that so many of these animals are simply born to be killed, where they have no say or control over their own lives or body. I'm afraid the meat is quite good. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to sell it. And animals have voices. They just don't speak any human language. They can communicate with others, though. Now plants can't talk, so I assume you mean plants when you say voiceless, even though plants do infact communicate with each other, just on another frequency we can't hear.

Thank you for your work, Joey! These poor birds, and billions of other birds yearly along with countless other species suffer for no other reason than the ignorance of billions of human beings. What you do is not unnoticed and many of us share your findings with our friends and families. It may sound a bit religious and conspicuous when say that people shouldn't believe what farmers and politicians say, but the suffering of animals is the truth. So many people blissfully ignorantly partake in a practice they would oppose if they saw it with their own eyes. The marketing of the meat and dairy industry is painfully effective at keeping people convinced these birds have good lives but, to bring it back to the beginning, your work helps bridge the gap between the values people actually hold and their actions at every meal. I live very close to a large turkey farming operation known as Diestel Turkey Farms. They supply meat to Whole Foods and other high end retailers. They were investigated by DxE and were found to be just as bad as any factory farming operation despite claiming to be organic and free range etc. They have a Potemkin village style farm where they show birds that live outside in good conditions while the bulk of their operation is miles away in huge barns of the sort normally used for factory farming birds. It really bothers me that they are just as bad as any factory farming operation but have cultivated an image that Whole Foods and other retailers and the public have bought into.
When will people evolve to be compassionate enough so as this does not occur. God Bless you Joey.

In any other case, if you were to tell someone that something is both cruel and unnecessary, they would agree it shouldn't be done. People have a big blind spot when it comes to animal cruelty though. 😑
