@@thirste8708 you can sequence 16 midi channels as opposed to 2. Dozens of effects a opposed to 2. E2 is more like a DAW within a similar price bracket. Knowing them both well is how you can draw comparisons. Check Mistabishi's entire sets on electribe. You will never find anybody capable of doing something similar on the circuit. That said, circuit is lovable and has a few tricks of its own and Novation's ongoing improvement of its products and how they reach out to clients is unparalleled.
Alright! In the next update, please consider allowing the real-time recording of note ties across bars!! It is a pain to do manually. In this video you will see that you held that high C with your little finger but it only recorded up until the end of the first bar. Please upvote if you also want this feature! 🤞

Not only is this excellent news, it is also a great, thorough explanation of the new features, and very nice showcase of the features as well. This may be the best Circuit sales pitch ever. Once again Novation has solidified their position as one of the greatest companies ever!

I'm beginning to feel guilty about getting all this new goodness for free. Are there any plans to develop a Circuit mkII or a Circuit Pro? Surely it's time for Circuit to get a big brother with full sampling capabilities (or something not already available on the existing Circuit and Monostation right?). But yeh, thank you so much.
+LatigidGolana IF (and I'm hoping they are) Novation is developing a follow-up to the Circuit, I'd like to see full sampling/slicing capabilities and a sequencer using conditional triggers (a la Teenage Engineering's OPZ). If they can keep sample/patch/session file transfer as simple as possible and maintain the screenless workflow, I'd gladly pay £600 for a Circuit XL or Circuit Pro workstation.
Don't own a circuit, but very impressed with Novation and their continued support for it. I have high hopes that there will be new product coming soon, can't imagine that their engineers are just working on supporting the old devices - these changes must be a sign of improvements to their common code base... Fingers crossed for a sampling groovebox.
This is great stuff! Anything that gets us off the grid/strict timing really helps creativity! Another great wishlist item would be per part tempo divisions for some quick double time or slowdowns!

Amazing update, as always! I thought 1.7 must have be the last, but you guys just keep delivering! That gives me hopes for 1.9 so here's my suggestion - ability to record tied notes. I love playing notes with long gates (>16 steps) but then on playback they are just cut off and I have to go and manually edit every note to have the tying enabled. It would be awesome if the sequencer could recognize that and automatically enable the tied notes where applicable. Cheers!
Jawsome! The one thing I'm praying for most is an extra ASSIGNABLE sequencer like the monostation, so we can use it for synth parameters, or even to play more notes on an existing poly synth patch!

These new features are great! Funny, I was just searching last night about a new 1.8 update and found nothing. To my delight, today my inbox had the announcement of the brand new firmware! Totally unexpected! I love my Circuit! Thanks a ton Novation! I'll be looking forward to 1.9 in the future.
its amazing that the circuit can be bought new for as little as even £200 if you catch it on sale so much value and the fact you guys add to it constantly is just wow makes me just want nothing but novation products because i know like even with the bass station 2 that 5 years down the line youll still care about that product cant wait for future synths from you guys
Personally, I'd like to see the filter knob control the synths and drums independently, rather than universal. Press/Hold Synth 1, move filter. Press/Hold Drum 3, move filter. Something like that. Or even do combinations. Press/Hold Synth 2, Drum 2&4.

After seeing this update for the Circuit, especially the MIDI channel changes, I finally got one to use with my Octatrack. This will allow me to get rid of a couple of my synths now that I force into my work flow and probably hinder my creativity more than anything. With all that extra desk space and cash, I'll be able to get your next great creation, the Novation Summit and wont even miss these in the mean time!

I now have my circuit for two days. I am an absolute beginner when it comes to music theory and production. I created a lot of noise of course, but also a couple of really nice beats which really surprised me .. since i'm such a beginner. I was quite unsure if my purchase was a good one because i encountered some limitations.. but: Everytime i encounteted a 'limitation' i googled it and it always was just an user error, so all my fault. The circuit is way way deeper than i thought it would be! The circuit is so much fun to play around with and, at least to me, it's kinda therapeutic too! Really happy with it.

Hey hey now let’s be fair to the kiwis over at Synthstrom Audible... The deluge is just as a supported product as anything else ever has been and while I loved my circuit in the early days and as much of a cool intuitive/ innovative piece of gear it has become... the deluge, is exponentially all those things and more.... I’d say in terms of “revolutionary-ness” deluge is the med-to-higher end market ($800-$1,000) equivalent of what the circuit is to the med-to-low end ($200-$400) market..... however I’d stand behind the deluge against any on there single piece of gear you could find. (It’s the illegitimate prodigal love child of the MPC live’s [minus the bugs] and the circuit’s one night 3-way with a drunk Elektron sequencer Lol(it inherits the Parma locks)
To be clear You Frekin Rule Novation And the circuit is as dope as it gets south of $1,000 ... sold mine and regret it a little. It was no contest the funnest I’ve had on a single box tho looking back .... but still rockin the mono station Real hard and lovin’ it. !!!! THANKS A BUNDLE
These are all great additions but the only big update I want right now is the ability to chromatically tune the samples I.E. being able to adjust the samples pitch by half steps for sequencing actual notes with the samples. Perhaps a function like when holding the shift button and turning the pitch knob for the samples it then jumps in Half steps as opposed to the full range of the Pitch knob. Also the ability to Patch flip the synths the same way you can with the drum parts or the Mono Station. Anyways I just got my Circuit a few weeks ago and I love it. I was at first not too excited about it when it came out but all these updates definitely helped push me towards getting one and it's really cool to see a company continually support a product like this even years after it's released.

@@HankAstral 😂 yes I can see that, but I use two of them together...and as they stand I can get them both in a hand bag lol (oh I'm girl..so hence handbag) and...then I got Dj club set up...in a hand bag😂😂😂I got other stuff...but honestly the fact I can gig out a handbag is hilarious😂...I put it into piano scale mode..last button on right bottom on scales mode...this helps me, it was a little odd...but soon got used to it😉

Super that you added changing the midi channels now you can play more circuits to one setup, but still there is one thing missing...., disconnecting the keyboard/ secuencer from the synths. So you can play the pads for an other external synth without losing one of circuits synths! Is this possible to changes? Greetz 👍✌️

+1 auto ties for pattern sequences/chains! Always setup a little 2-3 pattern drone and takes some effort to add the bridge ties.
How do you extend your patterns... especially when I am trying to play a melody or chord...

love this idea. AND, make it metal and slightly slimmer with an oled so we don't have to hook it up to anything. I would pay $800 easy..

Great update! Circuit is now less ‘mechanical’. It’s much easier to express yourself. The assignable MIDI channel is also awesome.
