Hello have a questions. Is three any way to play open hihat sample only when the pad is touched, not the whole sample? To make it sound like foot is working on half open hihat and choking it. Sorry for my poor english.
I create my rhythms this way too Bo. I think the Circuit was the best first purchase for me in synthesis. Straight after I bought a Korg Monologue and this pair allow me to create great tunes. I’m just about to buy a Behringer pro one to add.
Ok, I hadn't realized you can have any sample triggered at any time. Mind=blown. Really opens up the beat possibilities. Wow These workflow videos are so helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for a great video. I purchaced the COFFEE & BEATS CIRCUIT PATCHES and I can't upload it to the circuit. It tells me it's a wrong file type? Any suggestions? The circuit doesn't want to upload the BANK FILE with all patches. I can't load them one by one either?
Hello bo beats! Im learning and looking to buy either a emx1 or this little beauty. Thanks for all your videos theyre very helpful. At this point of the video 8:27 i guess clap is the botom left corner of the grid. Appears like that sound when you press it. But you imediatley go to the next key
Wow. You know the old saying of you are only limited by your creativity? Well at this moment I'm limiting my Circuit's drum programming possibilities! Great video, I have much to learn...
Just keep at it. And do not be afraid to just hammer away on those pads, remove steps that you dislike, and sculpt a beat. Using "overdub" to record additional sounds.
Cheers for the encouragement! I've had the circuit 7 months now and have been loving it's synth sounds and ability to create beautiful chord progressions and melodies. It's great to know I don't need anymore gear for a long while, when I've got so much potential in here
Bought a lauchpad pro and now I want this circuit. Do you think they will nice together? Or should I just connect the launchpad to an iPhone/pad and use an app there for mobile music making? I have the Korg gadget app, but didn't buy the €45 cable to connect them jet.
Hi, Thanks for the video. Do you know, if i can clear one channel completely? So suppose I have kick on drum1, and some complex groove on drum2. Can i reset just the drum2 groove, and clear everything for drum2 while keeping the kick pattern on drum1? Thank you
Hey! Thanks! To my knowledge this can not be done in any quick way. You basically have to either remove everything in a pattern at once (per channel) OR you have to go pattern by pattern deleting individual notes. This is an annoying feature for sure
As a drummer, this is exactly how I do not create any kind of beat. xD Too each their own however, there are no rules, only past experience. There is nothing wrong with your method for making beats. It's all subjective, but I am fortunate to have 30 years of drumming under my belt, and my experience tells me that the BASS PLAYER determines what the beat should be, so write the bass line first (unless you just have an AWESOME beat that even a bass player would be envious of).
Thanks for the helpful vid. To what extent would you consider this a one-stop-shop, or do you see it as part of a wider set up? Is the drum performance good enough to not need a separate drum unit, for example? What else would you partner with it?
@@DocHollidayGames i bought one, 2 months ago, its realy good for making edm music. and yes you can connect it with maschine :) ask me if u have any trouble with it, i hope i could help
@@shaoleanbeats921 Thanks! I haven't picked one up yet. I've been considering either one of these or a set of the new versions of the Electribes (I have the old EMX).
I am really thinking about getting one of these. but I am wondering: how many steps can one drumtrack have? I am fed up with the 16 steps on my Volca Sample!
I've been toying with the idea of getting a circuit for a few weeks now. Your videos are all really good. But I play my horn and keyboards live and already have a drum machine so I'm leaning very heavily towards the RC505 loop station. As an instrumentalist it seems more up my alley.
When I read "complex drum grooves" I was hoping for some polyrhythmic stuff or at least something similar to Neal Peart or Danny Carry's drumming styles.
All you say is thue but you speak alot in sme obvius thing tht everybody discover itself. this same week im shwing all that i've done just with this small wonderfull box. It will make history
You can buy a Novation Circuit using my affiliate link: redir.love/VmtyAXa5
You can get my Circuit presets here: store.bobeats.tv

Great question! And never worry about your English. 😉✌🏽

Andy Tanguay how do you do that tho.. gonna google this
great video! It's reminded me that I need to get my Circuit out again for some couch jams :D
Do it!!
I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these Bo.
Circuit is so worth it considering the price.
1:40 very very nube... How did you get the metronome hi hat going early on in the video?
Where's the sip of the coffee??
Thanks for a great video.

That A4 on your desk is screaming play me!
Moog is like, hahaha Im next!
Meanwhile, little circuit is getting all the love.
I’m thinking this applies to the tracks.

Thanks for this video. Great machine, would love to see you create some long ambient chords/melodies with this.

!! Do u have any idea why there is no sound when I press any pad in the mode of shift+Drum 1-4, I'm so confusing
Yes. You need to update your firmware =)
hahah fair enough. thx!!

And who determine the bass line?

And that was the end of that convo lol
PLEASE do something with the Novation circuit combined with the zoom AR 48!!
Hey Bo :) what types of music is the Circuit good for ? And can i connect it with an maschine mikro mk3 ?
Still waiting for an answer to this, 2 months later...

Great video, I learned a lot from it! Thanks for posting.
Can I ask where you got the wooden ear-ends for your Circuit?
+Chuck Leone thanks! I got them from Synths and Wood UK! I got a review on the channel
What is the Auto Quantising feature and what are the drawbacks? Thanks Man, good videos
+DR BITC0IN drawbacks are that you cant choose the quantazation. You are sort of stuck to 16/1 time division. Which can be annoying.
Ugh so true.. Maybe they can fix it in firmware one day? Like pan... Anyhoo..circuit
Star wars Blaster sounds great!!!
I need a Star Wars AAAAAHHH sample
yes!!!
Ggod job bro ya became an abo from me
Very informative. Who's the dude in the first commercial? He had some sage insight into vocal recording. Thanks dude$
Can you load drum loop samples into this thing or is it really only single shot samples? :)
You can load any sample in there ... but only 60sec in total
I am really thinking about getting one of these. but I am wondering: how many steps can one drumtrack have? I am fed up with the 16 steps on my Volca Sample!
John Danker 16 steps, 8 chainable patterns, so 128 steps in total
So am I right I thinking doing this you can have two samples play at the same time Bo?
James Rambo Pearce, you can have 4 samples playing at the same. 1 sample per drum channel.
@@jonfagerstrom9361 Sorry my question probably wasn't clear, I meant on one channel using sample flip :)?
No, it’s sample flip, not sample add.

I think you are right!
Sounds like Elastic drums. Like your side panels on the Circuit btw
They are from synthsandwood in UK! Great stuff =)
I bought them for my Circuit after watching your video about them :)
I made my own , total cost 1 English pound .
Circuit or digitakt?
Both
BO.... How do I ERASE a Bad Note On The FLY??
+Richard Michael only way is to go into note mode, hit erase key and the step
Thanks ! Great !
I hear the percussion of the Kraftwerk band , song The Robots . You record it)
Voice stealing occurs when using sample flip and poly voices on the synth channels.
I wouldn't say...Complex..but I Love your enthusiasm!;)
+Beige City all depends on your level of knowledge I suppose :-) to many Circuit users this is a hard thing to do
