Отличная работа. Спасибо за целую кучу отличных идей. Наткнулся на ваш канал - замечательная находка. Предлагаю несколько поправок к тексту в описании Ранее я сделал барабанно шлифовальный станок. Brilliant design. I am amazed that the little RC Servo Motor is powerful enough to run the feed roller. Excellent channel, please keep up the good work.
I'm building one at the moment and trying to design a way to fit a feed belt on the table then I saw your video and the feed roller Brilliant!! just like a thickness planer, so why didn't I think of that??? Thankyou for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼
Sehr guter Tipp! Ich werde meine Rollenschleifmaschine auch mit den Mot.vorschub ausbauen. Mit den Holzzahnräder ist eine gute Idee. Ich verwende einen Motorgrill dazu.👍
Chris Phillips Great if you just happen to have a cnc machine just laying around in your shop, but failing that, it’s make the gears yourself. Far more satisfying I’d imagine, at least there were only 2 of them.
Hi i was wondering where the motor and the RC motor were from. Is it a special purchase or just from on old machine. Could do with some pointers on where to get them from. I really want to try and make this one. ALl your vids are really going to be helpful in the long run I think.
Servo motor likely will not hold up to the task for long, they are strong, but the duty cycle is like 10% sort of thing. They are meant for very short period of work, then rest.... only time will tell, good gear ratio though... so perhaps...otherwise it's a spot on build NICE!
@@GreenSaw me too...it's the duty cycle, not the strength...like heat dissipation and stuff. I mean, it's perfect if it holds up...cheap enough if it doesn't
In the middle of building your drum sander and I'm interested in knowing what the feed rate you have achieved with your set up. Have an RC Motor to drive the roller but would like to know how fast your machine was moving the timber as this is what I will base my gearing on? Hope you can help?

Can you give us any idea where you get your motors? Are they new or scavenged from other equipment? The RPM on that motor is not familiar to me. On bench grinders we see either 1725 or 3450 mostly. I want to build this sander but I'm at a loss as to where to find the motor in a comparable size/horsepower/RPM. Your build is great and I want to copy what you have done. I'm in the U.S. so the measurements you use will have to be changed to suit but it will be an easy thing to do. Thanks for putting this video together. Very helpful and very ingenious.
Try ebay for second-hand electric motors, in the UK there are plenty. Any speed, within reason, will work. If you need to adjust the speed this is simple to do by sizing the pulleys correctly.
Actually also remember that torque is relative to speed when reducing or increasing from the stated numbers. So a 1/3 up motor running at 3500rpm reduced to say 1750rpm will produce twice the torque (ignoring the small mechanicsl losses blah blah blah). 1250rpm to say 2000rpm is OK for a sander like this and the one I built is still running of a two speed electric drill. Will be happier when I can find something a bit quieter. Personally I am looking to make a series of machines that will interchange with the motor. Different gearing for different applications. I digress Greensaw is a clever guy and he builds his creations for us to direct without all the bells and whistles of so many youtube channels. I happily unsubscribe from any that has a video titled "the world's greatest ever super Fandango table saw sled ever". This channel is good down to earth stuff made from scraps we all have. My version stands me in at a few £'s for bearings and £10 for the RC motor. All up less than £25. I have used it extensively and it is super accurate, as the drum is perfectly aligned to the bed of machine by the way it's made. Further note is if you want printable plans for different gear ratios go to woodgears.ca/gear/ you can select and printnanybratiomyou may need. Hello dear friend! I subscribed to your channel, I think its wonderful videos, but I see in many of the videos in the left corner "pdf free", but I can not find how to download these files, if you can answer me, big hug.
That’s a very nifty drum sander you’ve built there which looks to be very effective, especially on difficult timbers I would imagine. This project can also be made mainly from ply off cuts making this a low cost drum sander. I feel that this build is within the realms of most people that work well with their hands. Can be a little cheeky please? I have some questions I’d like to ask you if I may? I’m wondering why you have built the bed on an angle as this would seem to limit the length of stock you can feed through before it would foul on the bench top unless you hang the out feed over the edge, was there a specific reason for this? Can I assume that the RC motor is a stock item from a model shop, and do you find it powerful enough and could you mention the spec on the motor please. Many thanks for sharing your design.
Hello, thank you for your comment. - We have to build the bed at an angle, otherwise it is not possible to adjust the distance between the drum and bed. - Yes you can buy a servo from a model shop. - Yes you can buy a servo from a model shop.
