I think the lack of hitstop is an issue with a lot of weapons. Lance seems especially low impact as well as IG. Even greatsword TCS feels like 1/8th as weighty as it should.
Definitely agree about the lack of hitstop and the weapon sounds. I haven't had the chance to play myself but this is a concern I have just from watching gameplay.
Me too... It's never a good sign when we can notice these type of thing just from watching gameplay. If it really is like this, maybe the vibration settings can back it up a little? We'll see this weekend
I hope it's just a beta thing but I doubt it, seems like something that would be finalized early on and not 4 months from release. I really liked the sound when you would block heavy attacks with the greatsword in World.
For all its disappointments, I do think focus mode benefits SNS the most and worth using a lot just for regular attacking because SNS is so mobile, especially with the new triangle combo. You can often just strafe out of the way of attacks because of how quick you move in focus mode. I switched focus mode from holding to toggle in the options, and I'm mad I only did that in the last 5 min of the beta because it felt really good.
In worldthey had that meaty sound played when you hit a weakspot and it sounded so powerful and encouraged you to hit weakspots. Watching gameplay of monster hunter wilds makes me feel the sound design is a bit lacking for theweapon as tehy do not feel as punchy.
@@V2ULTRAKill In due fairness this varies from game to game, and due to having poor MVs in older titles it trended towards being a Status/Element weapon depending on if Crowd Control or Straight Damage is your priority. sunbreak sns gives me joy, much like iceborne sns(perfect rush is fun) hopefully it gets better, for all the sns players that are gonna buy the game(I won't, my pc can barely handle world)
i don't know much about sns, but i know its most defining gimmick is the ability to use items without sheething, but theres a button input to use some items while your weapon is out which is how speedrunners are flash stunning rey before he flies away, and sns getting delt dirty by that was the first thing i thought of when i found this new mechanic out. my only criticism to doom posting a beta weapon which isn't a criticism really but just food for thought, i play a couple weapons, 2 of them are glowedup, gl and swax, and the other two are in a similar boat to sns, ig and lance. these two weapons aren't actually bad, but are reworked to the point that they have to be played completely different and the only way to see results is to know EVERYTHING about the weapon and new mechanics. it's... weird they would greenlight that. you can play the weapons how they were before and get considerably longer hunt times are do the obscure stuff that no one with a life will figure out on their own. so what id want to ask, is it possible this is the case with sns? are there mechanics you could abuse that will make the weapon more enjoyable? and unique. this is how gs feels too which i play as well but not really a main, many feel it's unrewarding and sad that tcs is heavily nerfed, but offsets and wound pops set up for a very dominant playstyle but just not obvious to gs vets shield clash is a meme imo, yes its good damage and rewards parry, but if the monster doesn't have a clash animation then it's like it doesn't exist (rey dou for example)
@@petercottantail7850 so far, no. SNS is a nimble and fast weapon, but they want us to play around perfect rush and charged chol, with both of them dealing mediocre damage and risky as hell. Really hope they bring back the hitstop for the full release. Or at least let there be an option to have it or not, if that's possible. Also I don't see any reason not to have the metsu shoryugeki, it's at least as realistic as what the LS/Swaxe/CB can do imo.
Like you said, it's a demo. I enjoy SnS but wish we had wirlwind in this game. It was so good for me. Hopefully, they will give us more goodies in MR or add more stuff at the beginning of the game.
I didn’t really understand most of this, yeah the sandstorm looks worse but that’s probably because it is sand? As silly as that sounds , it helps with how crazy seamless change from the weather and enviroment, as far as s&s you can’t really judge a weapon from a beta? Its not about the seamless weather and environment, its about "Do they feel the need to go over the top on the particle effects?" Seems like without all the sandstorm going on it still gonna look good. About SNS, if youre thinking you cant judge the weapon from the demo/beta, look at Rise SNS. Shield bash on the Demo, Shield bash on Base Rise endgame. It might change, but not much.

yes, they changed it so its hard to do. after a roll you need to input BACKWARDS input ONLY to do another backhop. Before you can press Circle to do backhops, with every directional input.
