I don’t see the point in having perfect rush in the game if it’s going to work this way. It’s startup is slower, has longer animation commitment but deals less damage. I guess the devs listened to people that said that all you did with the weapon was perfect rush over and over. Now they get to do charged chop over and over. Big change 😂 I always thought that SnS in world had pretty good moves overall, each with it’s usage. Spamming PR was for when you absolutely mastered the monster. Plus every weapon when played optimally spams the same moves in MH. Also, where is shoryugeki? If you are going to make the weapon a little more like in rise, bring back the coolest move it has!
I recently returned to World and went back to SnS based on your advice, so this video will be much help! Thanks for always pulling back the curtain on monster hunter knowledge
SnS my fave weapon! I'm glad they finally addressed the chops, felt really good to be circling around monsters while doing it. Perfect guarding is super cool with the SnS. Buuut... now the Perfect Rush feels like it needs something more, something flashy. I imagine an infinite flurry of slashes like Axe's B, lower DPS on tight windows, higher DPS on bigger windows. Very powerful when done right.
@@sixft_undereven the charged chop itself is boring to me. Being a new move, it looks very underwhelming. The spin and red glow on it make it worse to me because it does all that fanciness only for it to just be a jump and a sword jab downwards. I’m just miffed because for me it seems like a waste and not unique enough to be “the new move!” for sns.
@ Yeah! I think the spinning is a bit silly, but hey, maybe if it wasn’t mundane i might’ve liked it as how i liked perfect rush when it came out. I haven’t played the beta so im not confident in my opinion, but it looks awkward with the rest of sns’s moveset, unlike say the spinning reaper which flows well into and from other moves. If i could choose a new move, it’d prolly be anything that helps deal with high/flying targets, like a leaping upwards thrust or something. Personally i’d also like aerial attacks to also have more horizontal movement. I like some of the new stuff, especially the movement with the triangle combo, but theres still some stuff im concerned about Like the guard slash existing, rising slash being removed, elemental not being relevant enough, as well as the balance of the moveset.
As someone that plays sns almost exclusively I’m glad to see we came to the same conclusions about the full reaper combo always being better than the 3hit spinning slash loop of previous games and perfect rush being not worth it at all
I can't believe charged chop spam is so strong lmfao. IF it stays like that, I'd like if we could get more distance out of the jump before and let us control the jump distance. Rip guard rising slash.
Despite the performance issues the weapons in wilds are clicking for me so much more than they did in world and rise. I will await February eagerly maybe we will get more early access.
correct me if i'm wrong, Charged Chop also does extra damage at the end of a combo as well, you need to start with Rising Slash and then the 4 hit combo and then end with CC. Not sure what other combos work with it
Charged Chop is certainly the most DPS, and with the multi hit I can only assume it scales well with element/status, but is there a less sharpness intensive combo that has similar DPS?
Have you plan a video on good synergy on weapons ? I was thinking about bow as a secondary but with the high consomption of stamina i'm not sure if you can have bow as a secondary if you are not using a dual blade or a second bow with an other element type.
Michael MH: I have all the data on Scooby Doo. What most people think scooby snacks are useful for is to directly use Unmask Monster but that's actually a very noob understanding of scooby snacks. You actually do very little dps doing that so never bother using it. I've labbed Scooby Doo theory and if you see on this excel sheet, if you wanna do the most damage, just do the Shaggy Sandwich Chomp (SSC). It's faster by 1.3 seconds is the most damaging combo for Scooby Doo in the game. So yeah, never use scooby snacks for Unmask Monster otherwise you're doing doo doo damage.
The shield Bashing is also useful as a way to close the gap aggressively and hitting the monster on anywhere but the head with the shield does apply exhaust damagewhich will eventually put it in the exhaustion state, creating more openings.
SnS looks strong with good damage. But yeah the charged chop spam is weird. Maybe once we get our hands on the full game and can really see the motion values and stuff, and how elemental reacts with it, things may change. Like if perfect rush actually scales like crazy off of element or something. It would be healthier if perfect rush was still the strongest combo for SnS, but obviously requires you to land the whole thing. But if you do you get rewarded. Charged chop just seems...weird. It feels rather disconnected from the rest of the moveset.
Everyone is saying perfect rush is dead... we have no idea how the damage will scale. We are still using the first weapon... just hold off before all the doom posting
I apologize if you’ve already answered this somewhere but what graphics settings have you chosen? The game looks great with your set up frame rate and graphics wise! Excellent video as usual btw :)
for this recording i did 1440 (60 fps) with ultra settings for regular play i usually go back and forth between 1440, 240 fps or 2160 (4k) 60 fps, both on ultra settings
so sad.. that best DPS combo so boring. Even Perfect rush spam from Iceborne was smarter and more interesting.. but looks like the most versatile and interesting SnS was in Rise .
Wow. The shield is actually used for blockinh now.
It's still mostly a hammer tho

I'm really not a fan of charged chop spam. Hopefully there's a different combo that does better damage when taking element into account.
Not a fan is being too kind, it's lame and boring asf. Optimal doesn't equal fun

Yeah I currently have DLSS enabled
