I would love to see a Lance video. I love the new additions and attacks they added making it even more offensive now. Especially the fact that countering is built INTO the basic blocking now. That's so good.

It should be noted that any source of Exhaust damage alternatively deals Stun damage depending on where you hit the monster. I refer to this as Impact damage, as to better explain this. Impact damage done to the head (or equivalent) applies Stun. Impact damage done anywhere else applies Exhaust. This is to better represent the relationship between the two status ailments because they share the same sources of which they’re applied. Just in case anyone was confused. Also it’s to be noted that Impact damage is NOT Blunt damage. All Blunt attacks deal Impact damage, but not all Impact attacks deal Blunt damage. Yes, you can KO monsters with Exhaust coatings on Bows and Exhaust Ammo with Bowguns.
Been messing around with it today, it's pretty wild indeed although I feel like it's going to fall into the mhworld s&s category where perfect rush was the only thing worth doing, wyvern burst multi full burst over and over will be the only thing worth doing on the gun lance

The update to the switch axe brought a few things to it that it was sorely lacking in World: defensive options (offset and counter) and a great way to charge the "battery" for the sword. Huge wins. I will definitely main this, provided it doesn't somehow get nerfed.
@@Ima9ineBreak3r The spinning charged blast when releasing the phials seems kinda like you're struggling and my brain interprets the hit as not being that strong. The effect isn't my favorite either but that I know I'll get used to.
My biggest thing with the switch axe was always the positioning, so I'm really glad to see that you can readjust a tiny bit with each triangle attack 😅 it makes the weapon feel so much more comfortable

I played a lot of adept switchaxe in GU and always felt that it allowed switchaxe to really shine as an offensive powerhouse. Incredibly glad to see that both versions have access to a counter type attack that allows you to play more aggressively
I mained switch axe in MH World, and will do so for Wilds, I really need a decent training area to just get my head around these new moves. My muscle memory can't seem to forget world play style and learn this new stuff...
Really thankful for the timing of this for PC release, this is a huge time save for having to figure out some of this on our own so we have more time for character creation optimization

I thought I was doing pretty well and managed to take down Rey Dau fairly early... and now thanks to your guide I realized I wasn't even utilizing a tooon of awesome moves with my favorite weapon haha
One thing to note, you can do the Spiral Burst Slash directly after the Full Release Slash. If you hit it, your sword gauge fills up and I believe you keep or get into sword amp state. So In my limited testing you can loop the Fully Release Slash and the Spiral Burst Slash.
without a doubt the biggest glow up for a weapon. i've never gave it any serious time, but damn the animations on this version are so smooth and flashy.
i rly do enjoy these videos and am happy they are back, however i have never owned a playstation or playstation controller, so i have absolutely no clue where triangle ist alocated. showing a controller and which buttons are pressed would help a huge amount. as long as i can see what button you mean, its no problem for me if you talk about "triangle"
Man, these guids are god-sent. I am new to Monster Hunter and don't know anything. I just started playing the beta yesterday. I used SH in the beginning, but it felt too ordinary. Tried the Longsword, and it seemed as if I am Vergil from DMC. I want to main CB or SwitchAxe. However, I think I am not using them right. These videos and a bit of practice would make me really get in the zone.
It feels kind of wild to me that the hunting horn has to set up four notes to have an offset available but the switch ax can just press two buttons almost any time
No wirebugs make menworried all my cool counters are gone but seeing the panic counter and counter rising slash being included in the new moveset is welcoming
Odd question but do we know if the counter will count as a “block”? Cause if it does; that counter + offensive guard (especially if we get the world visuals and sound effects for the skill) would not only be great but also just look and sound saucy asf
I saw another video in which someone dismounted their seikret and then immediately did the heavy slam to get power axe without wild swing; I'm wondering how to do that if you know how. Also that same guy comboed a spiral burst slash after a full release slash and it got enough gauge back from empty to go into sword mode again, even without power axe. Edit: After much research and looking through a lot of videos, it's the sneak attack for the switch axe; it grants you power axe mode.
Hey Arekkz, I havent read the comments so I apologize if someone asked this already. After ZSD can you cancel when latched on to avoid the long animation? You lose the last explosion but I'm sure you can cancel it in World which then lets me combo again. Keep up the great work!
One thing im wondering for the INSECT GLAIVE(please do that one next) is if they brought back the Kinsect Nurture thing. Rises biggest problem is that is missing along with the projectile marking. I always opened up with that in every fight back in world bc its good to have backup. But. I miss it. Insect glaive aint the same without it.
I wouldn't really call the offset attack a panic button style counter. the window is incredibly tight I feel and when practicing, found it failed more times than it worked. Unless i'm doing something wrong, it feels too unreliable to use compared to the new sword form counter.
Dude I’m trying to get the mounted discharge in the beta and the Hunter just WONT stick to the monster, both my meters full, EVERYTHING full even, and just does the normal elemental discharge… That said I’m loving both the new Axe counter and the Sword mode counter. God it’s fun.
Don't really get the Offset Uprising Slash. Fought several monsters and I just can't get the timing done. Either it's really hard to land or I'm bad but ayyy it's just the beta. And I somehow never land the Zero Sum Discharge even with me being in the amped stated and hitting I never jump on them. These are my only problems (not complains because obviously I'm doing something wrong) everything else is SO GOOD! Swaxe is so much fun! Can't wait for the full release!
OUS only works with certain moves like when the monster puts it's whole body into the attack and for the ZSD (zero sum discharge) make sure to hold the buttons down then spam once attached

Switch is actually pretty hard to learn I suggest you for the beginning with something that hasn’t a mode, like Longsword, Greatsword, Dualblade etc

Insect Glaive has crazy buffs to its moveset and play style. Definitely worth the pickup if you liked Insect Glaive.

For the mounted weapon attack at 6:00 you can mash triangle like a ZSD and get a couple extra ticks of damage before the discharge goes off

SWAX looks so good with its counter for both stances. So far I’ve liked the weapon changes.
