Long sword for never, I never got Into mh but Dark souls GS are amazing , here tho they are so big and fast it feels like they're are not a big deal to use I prefer the dual swords to try when i play this game cuz I like Big sword cuz they feel heavy not just big
@@JadeOP100 ahhh what? GS are faster in souls than this game GS in this game is a slow and deliberate weapon are you confusing GS with LS ? LS is kind of comparable with the Great Katana in ER imho.
Important thing he didn't mention about spirit charge, if you're doing spirit combo and run out of spirit gauge mid combo, you can start spirit charging, it will do a much faster animation and still allow you to finish the combo and level up the spirit gauge.
@NihongoWakannai imo for the damage and topping up red gauge prob. since the charged roundslash has the same damage as a reg roundslash, so doing the full combo in red gauge still does good damage. and maybe for saving stam but not sure abt that one
@@NoxL0wif decorations are anything like the previous game which surely they will be. Charger will be used heavily in LS making charge Round slash meta.
Something I noticed is that unlike in world, you can no longer do triangle attacks in middle of a spirit combo to get extra spirit meter. Instead that function is now reserved exclusively for circle attacks only.
Yeah, it's a bit of getting used to but ultimately a smart choice for them to make the quick attacks exclusively on circle and the slow ones on triangle
Not just world but pretty much up to now. The changes to LS really made me update my 10 yr+ of LS usage. Some of the other things I had to get used to is R2 combo has a step in downward slash that throws me off in distance measuring. Not sheathing when I am about to miss a helmbreaker is another thing haha!
4:00 One thing to note, foresight whirl slash is a move that consumes your red guage if the attack is missed. You can see this earlier in this same video. Thought it worth mentioning, great video.
This was an excellent assessment, I am team Bow all the way. Given the option to carry two weapons, I am seeking a secondary weapon that complements my primary choice. I am currently deciding between the Long Sword and the Sword and Shield. The Long Sword holds particular significance for me, as it was my original weapon when I first played Monster Hunter: World. By choosing the Long Sword as my secondary weapon, I can engage enemies at close range to inflict wounds. This strategy allows me to switch back to the Bow to target these wounds from a distance. I plan to repeat this process and adapt as necessary to the enemies' changes. This approach effectively covers both close and mid-range combat scenarios.
I'm a Monster Hunter veteran but I still come to the channel for things I may have missed in my own gameplay. Didnt know about the rotation on a sheathe in focus mode!
its important to note, using focus mode to aim your attacks is extremely helpful. as a person who played a lot of world, i kept missing counter follow ups even when putting the correct directional inputs even for weapons like the chargeblade, hitting AEDs and SAEDs got infinitely easier once i started using focus mode to aim them. Happy hunting!
2:15 Maybe it's because early game enemies, well rn at least have thick pig-like skin like the chatacabra, doshigumas have probably like thick mammal skin and since blades are deadly to animal/human skin it wounds parts faster than a blade trying to wound an enemy riddled with armor, unless they're like greatsword or the heavier weapons, since weapons do have better interactions to parts like hammer being better for stunning/staggering and blades for severing in previous generations, just guessing if the Monster Hunter team are really going for the realism of what weapons do to certain enemies.
great guides! I hope we will see new "Complete Noob Weapon Guides" when the full game releases, as there will be A LOT of new players. This video takes for granted you already know how to use the roundouse slash to upgrade the gauge level. I just love watching guides, i will watch them all even if i have more than 3000 hours total in MH heheh
The longsword new "demon mode" state makes it feel so damn nice and fluid, its probably going to become my main weapon alongside chargeblade, switchaxe and maybe bow or hunting horn.
Yo, I've only had a short amount of time to play so far, but the Red Gague R2+O move is my new favorite for sure! That move just has so much potential!!!
A tip for IG you can do a direct descending trust by: Holding circle->vault->hold circle release You can aim your descending trust with your focus mode
Wish they would release it as a demo like in the past. Haven’t had time to play much of the beta. I was able to play like 45 minutes, had a blast. Got through the 1st story mission, but would love to explore. BTW hammer is amazing, been a hammer main in World and Rise.
I've been playing Charge Blade and man oh man it's fun. I'm looking forward to the new Goup set bonus because I think I will main Charge blade and bow as my secondary. Bow was my main in Iceborne so can wait to see how gear will affect the decisions on weapon pairings.
Get to red quickly, DPS and dance with the monster, and when you are near the end of the spirit gauge you helm break + follow up, then use the wounds to level the gauge back up to red.
Damn, the Spirit charge thing that levels up the gauge just by holding R2 is crazy. My problem with LS has always been landing the full spirit combo to level up, and it looks much easier now. Might have to go full weeb in Wilds.
Oh this new gauge might make it worth it to get skills that increase it's duration depending on how much you want to stay in it or just use your finisher to get out and build it up again.
Take a shot every time you hear him say “increases your spirit level”. This thing’s about to promote every other weapon in the quest into spectator mode
Started the beta wanting to try a new weapon for a change, used switch axe and actually really enjoyed trying to learn it; Then for comfort I used the Longsword did the new spirit release slash and now I'm never leaving my Longsword again 😂.
i just pulled off the most anime of kills, i managed to get the final hit on a monster with the sheathing animation after a mounted wounded attack. daaaang
Longsword is indeed the favorite weapon of the developers. Its wild howm uch this weapon gets cool new stuiff every game compared to all the other weapons
Okay, but they really need to give me a way to completely remap those face buttons, having square and circle being anything other than attack and dodge kept messing me up during the Chatacabra hunt
Someone confirm this for me: Can the Foresight Slash and the Ia Spirit slash still activate/evade through monster roars? I swear, I have not evaded one roar with those moves or I'm just timing it wrong.
Me before the beta: I want to try out other weapons now, not playing LS again for this game as well. Me after playing a few hours: Fuck it, another 4k h ls it is
Longsword then, Longsword now, Longsword forever
Yup yup
Hell yeah brother!
The more they hate it the more I play it

So far this is looking like the best version of Longsword 🔥
Generations ultimate was best version and I wish this was a follow up to that and not world.
Can't wait to see how to improve my hammer game as I have just been playing it like a older monster hunter and forgot focus mode even exists lmao
Longsword 4ever. Arekkz is really the MH related go to guy. Kudos!
I was right about holding R2 to jump straight into a spirit slash 👌
I'm a Monster Hunter veteran but I still come to the channel for things I may have missed in my own gameplay. Didnt know about the rotation on a sheathe in focus mode!
Iai Spirit Slash can also now be comboed into Spirit Slash 3 which can continue into Roundslash.
Same in rise

CANNOT WAIT to play this myself, looking forward to my beloved switch axe the most
Nothing compared to Charge Blade. Rise made me drop it because of the consistent SAED spam meta. Savage axe was always my thing in world.
The video was amazing. Looking forward for the Dual Swords video
i just learned that this blessed arachnophobia mode changes spiders into the slime blobs
Another thing to note is that the Seikrat dismount attack is actually a parry too.

This version is still buggy and rough hence it's a beta. Demo will release closer to launch date
Interesting how they made the jumping animation from switching scrolls in Sunbreak to making it an actual counter
Fun fact the dismount attack actually has counter frames like the iai and the foresight slash attacks
Maaaaan, I am just wondering how those happened. I actually forgot to check if they're in the games as guides but thank you for this!
I had to like the video just for the power god and animé bit
Love the new additions.
Seems like longsword got a lot of love again
As it always does, more so than most other weapons unfortunately
@ryean8212 always with the anime weapons
@@alexp.4902except for insect glaive they nerfed it

I'd like to see a gunlance guide next. I've already figured out most of the new things but am sure I missed something!
Im gonna main swaxe for the first time. So excited!
Fingers crossed for a rundown of the switch axe as well.
Me: Alright, finally gonna main something different!
Longsword: Are you sure about that?
I don't know why they killed off Triangle Triangle Circle for the basic combo but as a MHFU player with like 1k hours on the LS I am traumatised :(
Roundhouse slash sheathe can be cancelled with a regular Triangle/Y attack so you don't have to Iai sheathe anymore to speed things up btw

First! But on a real note I'm so hyped for Wilds rraaa
Power prolonger is a must now i guess to keep red
question is do quick sheath matter in wild? in world quick sheath is useless, i love quick sheath in rise. Hope they make quick sheath matter in wild
Hunting Horn mains call out!
Tsubame Gaeshi added! LET'S GOOOO
How about the timing of Iai Slash? Is it like the exact frame like it was in Rise or is it a bit more „forgiving“?
Waiting for the bow build! Really overwhelmed with the new HUD and combo's 😅
Longsword mains are gonna do insane numbers

I've never liked longsword throughout the monster hunter series except freedom unite. But after playing the wilds beta I might be a longsword main
cancellable helmbreaker. what a time to be alive
I really want to see what's up with the gunlance in the demo !
jo longsword got some sugar from capcom.. that´s nice even if im not LS main.. th for your passionate videos
Glad you like them!
Ooooo man now if quick sheath works a little more.like rise (but not as busted) we have the perfect ls
What’s is worth doing in red gauge ? Triangle combo or r2 combo ?
So I won’t whiff the end of spirit blade round slash anymore, fantastic.
Hey Arekkz gaming. You should adjust the descrition. You mention charge blade
You can counter from dismount with triangle and circle
Cant wait to get quick sheathe 3
bros back with wilds wb
Rey Dau: The Apex of Thunder and Lightning
Hunter Longsword: The Storm That Is Approaching
Need that bow guide brother
Fade slash now also mostly fills your gauge
Nayve i missed the tip but when in redmode foresight does a sick flip and only uses stamina
I played last night and had a ton of fun with it. As a weebsword s rub having spirit charge to get to red was very much welcome. Lol.
Bro, If Mizutsune comes back, the Mizu LS with The Mizu armor you'll really be Rurouni Kenshin🌸🌸

Sephiroth: To the promise land.
does the slinger have the same function as hammer has? (applicable to all weapon)
Okay, but they really need to give me a way to completely remap those face buttons, having square and circle being anything other than attack and dodge kept messing me up during the Chatacabra hunt
I have a feeling that Seregios may make a return
0:33 That is now no longer available as an option. This is my Megatron weapon from The Last Knight.
Good overview! I am digging the Long Sword in this game. These changes are amazing and I am having a blast.
Ls, CB,switch axe and hammer are feeling great. Bow felt very underwhelming, not sure why.
If I had to describe the changes made to Longsword in Wilds in three words, I'd say "Vergil as hell"
If they allow for elaboration, however:
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROOOOAAACHIIIIIING
Dual blades giving Longsword a run for its money, but then all these upgrades to LS just put that notion to rest 😂 LS for life!
Someone confirm this for me: Can the Foresight Slash and the Ia Spirit slash still activate/evade through monster roars? I swear, I have not evaded one roar with those moves or I'm just timing it wrong.
MY FELLOW WEEBS ASSEMBLE
Insect glaive next PLZ!!
HOW did they make LS even MORE anime?!?!? I thought we were already at 10!
You can turn off auto sheath btw in the settings
Me before the beta: I want to try out other weapons now, not playing LS again for this game as well.
Me after playing a few hours: Fuck it, another 4k h ls it is
Getting it for ps5 have been playing the beta it's amazing but will it run on steam deck? That's my biggest questions
We will find out Friday. Will be a tough one for sure tho. The game seems to be very demanding judging by the PS5 performance
Hammer bruh!
LS got so much love in Wilds lol we can see what the favorite weapon is for sure.
Yea..would be nice of you explained the PC Controlls too. Well, thx anyway i guess.
GOTY 2025. GTA 6 is getting delayed to 2026
GTA6 will be very good but it definitely wont top this for me. 2 completely different games.
GTA 6 had wayy to much hype and too many expectations to be GOTY IMO
Dang, do they really need to buff LS?
I have no idea what to play T_T torn between CB, LS and SnS
Looks like every weapon got buffed but insect glaive looks nerfed to me T_T
